3 simple words, 1 simple question that means so much. Not "Tell me about yourself" or even, "Who do you THINK you are?" This question is definitive and yet abstract. How does one even begin to process the existence of oneself? By purpose? By experiences? By societies standards and labels? Just by how one comprehends the question is the start of getting to know who we are. Join my cohost Eian and myself, as we peel back the answers on the episode that has the most responses this show has seen to date, to one simple question...Who are you? @1micdwight on Twitter and @dwightmarshall417 Instagram and 1micdwight@gmail.com Shoutout to my personal trainer, Ernest Scott @Fit for Life Bootcamp (417)9084998, fitforlife114@gmail.com and on Facebook Fit For Life in Springfield, MO. and Bolineclean.com Cleaning Service (417)6122341; Support local businesses!!!
Saluton, estas mi Tyson Saner welcoming you to Epi315 of Succotash, the soundcast that might just introduce you to your next favorite soundcast…as long as you understand that "soundcast" is what we here have been calling "podcasts" since waaaaay back in the day, shortly after Succotash launched some 11 years ago. There is also an excellent chance that we have already introduced you to your current favorite soundcast. Perhaps it was something that you heard in last week's Episode #314 in which I brought you clips from the soundcasts Black Aesthetic, Jeremiah Wonders, and Real Life Sci-Fi. Perhaps not, It's difficult to say. One thing that isn't difficult to say, by the way is thank you for listening which is essentially what I am doing right now in the guise of merely telling you about it.…or…is that the lazy explanation? I D K . This week, I've got another round of the "3-clip tango" for you in the form of content bites from the soundcasts known as The Winnebago Boys, Oxventure - A Dungeons & Dragons Podcast, and The Todd Glass Show. I've also got an ad from our longtime, 100% FAKE sponsor "Henderson's Pants" and their disturbingly anthropomorphic Pet Pants for you to enjoy as you indeed might…so look forward to that. Alright, I've got very little time to do this, so let's get to the clips… CLIPS The Winnebago Boys Evan Vest and Eian Webre are The Winnebago Boys and our snippet is from May of last year, an episode entitled "Many Gods". Evan apologizes - "We're back. My bad. Had a rough spell but we're back. Eian is now a permanent host." The clip itself features a very serious discussion of comedy and some of its' many aspects… Oxventure - A Dungeons & Dragons Podcast The Oxventurers Guild presents a DnD real play podcast! Join Johnny Chiodini, Jane Douglas, Andy Farrant, Mike Channell, Ellen Rose and Luke Westaway for chit-chat and chaotic good times. Our clip is from back around the corner - July 22, 2022 - in an episode called "Wedded Redemption Part 1" with special guest player Harry McEntire…and Happy Episode 100! This clip features part of the introductory portion of the campaign the group is about to embark upon. The Todd Glass Show Todd Glass has his very own show! He brings on his funny friends and they talk about whatever they want. And, of course, there are bits! Our clip hails from February 21, 2020, just between the COVID lockdown would sweep in a month later. Featuring guests Nick Swardson & Blake Wexler, although our clip only features Nick and Todd as Nick recalls doing live events with Adam Sandler and others…and an at-this-point-in-time very much living Norm Macdonald is fondly remembered. Hey, we all made it to the end together. That idea puts an image in my head of a group photo of a large number of people posing with a single trophy that they all must share.…(storybook voice) "and that was the last time that trophy was ever seen in one piece again…" Be sure to listen here, or wherever you listen, to Epi316 which will be hosted by show creator and executive producer Marc Hershon — who managed to secure an interview with Blaine Capatch of the world-famous soundcast Nerd Poker. I will be looking forward to it as much as you no doubt are at this very moment, assuming this is the first moment you have learned of this. If all goes well, I should be back with an episode for you a week after that featuring…I haven't the faintest clue yet as I am still writing this. Thank you for listening, Be Decent to Each Other, Avoid COVID-19 and DEFINITELY avoid spreading it to other people if you can at the very least manage that,…what you could spread, however, is this show by sharing your awareness of it with other people. It's what we mean when we drop to our knees with our hands clasped together and implore you to Please…Pass The Succotash! — Tyson Saner
For the last 9 days, I've been house-sitting and puppy-sitting for our daughter Heather, who drove with her fiance Andy and his 3 kids, Kelsey, Kayden, and Eian from Belton, Missouri (a suburb of Kansas City) to Gulf Shores, Alabama and then Pensacola, Florida, for a beach vacation. Before she left, Heather asked me to house-sit and puppy-sit her mixed breed, female puppy, Angel while they were gone. This saved them a ton of money not having to put Angel in a vet kennel 24/7 for over a week. I did this because I love my daughter Heather so much and I did it as unto the Lord as an act of service. There were many challenges for different reasons, and this was a VERY stressful week. It was a lesson in grace and endurance. But I have no regrets, because Heather really needed this fun vacation and R & R! Listen as I share what happened this week, including the trouble with the puppy eating, a heat advisory all week (and having to keep Angel in the house most of the time), my granddaughter Violet's car battery dying and needing a jump, the garbage disposal breaking and water pouring onto the cabinet floor, and more! Please keep me in your prayers as I am home now and need refilling. I'm praying to go on my own relaxing beach vacation to Destin, Florida soon! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/bethmjones/support

Today we are announcing some show changes for a bit. Eian is stepping away due to some work obligations for a while. The New Day Podcast will continue but with some changes to the format.
Now that Eian is done with his degree - he is taking on a couple of new goals. One was inspired by one of our listeners. That is to become a life coach. While we have been doing research for our shows over the last year this term has come up many times. We introduce you to the concept of thought work and how it is going to be a major theme that opens up new topics for us to talk about.
Josh from Radio Ronin stops by and wants to dig deeper into Toxic Positivity. Eian shares a new author he found - Dr. Susan David and some of the insights from her TED Talks and book "Emotional Agility". We also come up with a new term - Corporate Toxic Positivity. All of us have been there - you are expected to drink the Corporate Kool-aide especially when you are not feeling it.
We know that Eian has a passion for communication, one piece of communication that doesn't get taught to us is listening. We are usually more focused on responding or reacting to what we hear. We share things that will help you be a better listener with others.
Eian and Angela share their experiences with grief. From death to the ends of relationships or jobs, a sense of loss turns us to dark places. Knowing you aren't alone and that you aren't broken if you don't follow the “5 step grief process” helps a lot.
One of the most challenging things we can do for ourselves is actually to love ourselves. When we priorities our happiness and put ourselves first, we can be accused of being selfish. This week Eian shares his three pillars of self-love and the ways that he focuses on loving himself.
We discuss the five types of Imposter Syndrome this week and which ones we identify with. In this “fake it until you make it” world, it becomes difficult to tell what is real and what isn't on social media. It's essential to understand its effects on our self-perceptions. If you would like to read the book that Eian mentions this week check out the link below: https://amzn.to/33TlXII
Each of us has a way that we perceive ourselves. As we wrap up the year and start to think about how we want to set goals and make changes for next year, we have done what Eian likes to call "deep work" and examine ourselves. What do we think about ourselves? This is a more formidable challenge than you make think.
This week, Eian and Angela discuss ways to deal with situations that seem almost impossible to face. With 2020 throwing so many challenges at people and new things popping up every day that make us feel like we are completely of control, they share how they have been navigating through the plot twists that have come their way. Be sure you join the conversation and share how you have bounced back from situations like this on Facebook or Instagram.
Fear is a part of everyone's lives. How we deal with it and move on is what Eian and Angela are talking about this week.
While life will bring you disappointment, how you deal with them is even more critical. This week Eian and Angela talk about things that have disappointed them in life and ways they overcome it.
Motivation is something that we struggle with even in the best of time. Eian and Angela share their tips on how to boost your motivation. If you have your own ways and we don't talk about them be sure that you share them with us.
Spencer Myers from Radio Ronin stops by to talk about the power of creating habits in your life. He discusses how he has used habits to make changes for the better, and Eian even did homework to get ready. Link to purchase Atomic Habits: https://amzn.to/37S2pWj
Eian and Angela are talking about the signs of burnout. Most of us are not just feeling everyday stress anymore, and we are hitting a major wall. It's not a sign of weakness to admit it.
This week we take a dive into how important it is to when you are deciding who you spend the majority of your time with. Eian shares his top criteria when he evaluates who is in his inner circle.
We have all done things that we regret in our lives, but it is time to let them go. This week Angela and Eian discuss that while your mistakes are part of who you are, they are not all you are.
Angela and Eian are back and talking about the complicated process of recovering from failures. We all make them and that is inevitable. You do not have to let them define you or be defeated by them! Let us know how you have bounced back from failures on Facebook or Instagram.

We are happy to have Chunga as our first interview and guest on the show. A New Day Podcast is part of the Radio Ronin network.

We are exploring ways to start each New Day a little better. We are starting with ways that Angela uses to cope with the stress or anxiety.
This is basically a response to a response video. A good friend of mine, Taylor Kelly, over at Martial Tutor, did a response to a video made by another good friend Jason Korol. The video was about the relationship between JKD and MMA. So today on the show, Jason and I talk about the relationship between the two disciplines and what they can learn from each other. Enjoy!
