Paul tackles those questions, plus the biggest developments from the first padded practice of training camp. From offensive line questions relating to young players such as Broderick Jones, Troy Fautanu, Zach Frazier and Mason McCormick. July 7, 2025 - Season 15, Episode 158 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking more about the Pittsburgh Steelers signing GM Omar Khan to a contract extension last week. This comes on the heels of Alex and Josh Carney discussing that news on the Friday show. This time I give my thoughts on the decision to extend Khan, and we go over how he should be graded so far in his short tenure and what should be expected out of him these next two seasons. After having a lengthy talk about Khan's career to date and his extension news, Alex and I go over his recent grading of all the big decisions and moves the Steelers have made so far this offseason. We grade the team trading for WR DK Metcalf, the trading away of WR George Pickens, the selection of DT Derrick Harmon in the first round, the addition and process of signing QB Aaron Rodgers, and the big trade that was recently made between the Steelers and the Miami Dolphins. While Alex and I are close when it comes to our grading of those several offseason moves, we do differ slightly on a few of them and especially when it comes to the Steelers trading away Pickens. Later in this show, Alex and I pick up where we left off when it comes to discussing players in my annual 90 in 30 series. Today, we discuss nine more players ahead of this year's training camp getting underway and they are OLB Alex Highsmith, ILB Cole Holcomb, QB Will Howard, RB Evan Hull, RB Max Hurleman, CB D'Shawn Jamison, WR Brandon Johnson, RB Kaleb Johnson, and S Quindell Johnson. As part of Alex and I discussing Howard on Wednesday, we offer up some predictions and hopes when it comes to the number of preseason snaps he will ultimately play this summer. This 125-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the recap. We also end this episode by answering several outstanding email questions we have received this past week from listeners of the show. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. White noise has a very precise technical definition, but people use the term loosely, to describe all sorts of washes of sound—synthetic hums, or natural sounds like a rainstorm or crashing waves—that can be used to mask other sounds. Twenty years ago, if you'd told someone white noise was a regular part of your life, they would have found that unusual. Nowadays, it's likely they use it themselves or know someone who does. The global white noise business is valued at $1.3 billion; TikTok is full of people trumpeting its powers; and Spotify users alone listen to three million hours of it daily. Far more of these sounds already exist than any one person could need—or use. And yet, more keep coming. Looking out at this uncanny ocean of seemingly indistinguishable noises, we wanted to see if it was possible to put a human face on it; to understand why there is so much of it, and what motivates the people trying to soothe our desperate ears with sounds you're not really supposed to hear. In this episode, you'll hear from Elan Ullendorff, who writes the illuminating Substack Escape the Algorithm; Stéphane Pigeon, founder of myNoise; Brandon Reed, who runs Dwellspring; and Mack Haygood, author of Hush: Media and Sonic Self-Control and host of the podcast Phantom Power. We'd also like to thank Dan Berlau, Sarah Anderson, and Ashley Carman. This episode was written by Katie Shepherd, Evan Chung, and Willa Paskin. It was produced by Katie Shepherd. We produce Decoder Ring with Max Freedman, and Evan is also our supervising producer. Merritt Jacob is Senior Technical Director.
