Wednesday, March 24th will mark one-year since golf was first suspended due to the virus known as Covid-19. Since then, golf has opened and closed between lockdowns with players around the country missing out on the best part of six months' golf. Both clubs, and members have suffered through this pandemic but both rely on the support of one another more than ever to come out the other side of a dreadful time for the industry. In that spirit, to help golfers everywhere better understand the current state of the industry and where we go from here, we thought it would be a good idea to invite some representatives from all corners of golf in a special edition of the podcast. We don't know when golf will be officially back, but we manage to answer many of the questions that have been circling social media in recent weeks. Former GUI CEO, Pat Finn was the man in the hot seat when Covid-19 first hit Irish shores and he explains the challenges the Union faced when coming to terms with this unpredictable pandemic. The Managing Director of Carr Golf Services, Ed Pettit, whose team is charged with the running of 19 golf clubs around the country, discusses the various impacts Covid-19 has had on the industry as a whole. Director of Golf at Ardglass, Paul Vaughan gives us an insight into how the absence of an overseas travel market has hurt operations at the club while Lucan Golf Club General Manager, Mark Ruddy talks about how the domestic market has reacted across the year and the challenge clubs now face to convince members that their loyalty is needed now more than ever. As ever, we hope you enjoy the listen. Let us know what you think.

The previous upload became corrupt, this is the fixed file... It's that time of year again to go over the numbers and look at the State of the Cigar Industry. It's one of our favorite shows of the year because it's stuff we as true stogie geeks want to know. We'll be joined in studio from Jarrid Trudeau of Kristoff Cigars who was recently named the VP of Sales for the company. In the first half hour of the show we will light up a cigar from the Care Package, the one that doesn't piss off the boss. After smoking the Kristoff Connecticut we will light up the Kristoff Criollo in the second hour.... Also there is a chance during the Food Authority segment one of us might need a bucket... All this and more on the #1 Cigar Podcast on the internet, The Cigar Authority.
We smoke a Cuban in the first hour of the show, the Verueros Entretiempos and Dave gives us his state of the industry address. In the second hour we light up something from La Flor Dominicana as Jon Carney will join us for the duration of the show… Join us for the 300th episode of madness and mayhem on The Cigar Authority.

Perhaps the nearest the USA has to a true "comedian's comedian", Andy Kindler has been railing at audiences (and his own supposed lack of performance ability) for nearly 30 years. A regular at the "Just For Laughs" Comedy Festival in Montreal, where he annually gives his scathing "State of the Industry Address", Andy occupies a unique and hilarious position as the industry's conscience. We discuss identifying and overcoming the many formulae of comedy detailed in his "Hack's Handbook", why he's mad at Jerry Seinfeld; as well as exploring the lingering fear of abandonment that drives a comic to be "always on"...Support the podcast by pressing "donate" at www.comedianscomedian.com, and see the show live at Edinburgh 2015.
