(STINGER: WWE) It sounds like there is some validity to reports over the weekend of possible changes tp WWE's NXT brand and developmental system. The reports surfaced following the releases of thirteen performers last Friday. One of those released wrestlers posted a statement over the weekend...and alluded to what's happening behind the scenes. Anthony Henry - who wrestled as Asher Hale in WWE - wrote, “There is a shift happening, within the company, and I no longer fit what they are looking for.” Henry added that he was wrestling through an injury - two herniated disks - during most of his 6-month run in WWE. Another of those wrestlers released Friday, Bronson Reed, posted a message for his fans on social media Sunday night. The Australian super-heavyweight talked about his reaction to being let go. (Reed WWE Release Reax) That clip from the video posted to Bronson Reed's Twitter. As of Sunday night, no matches are announced for tonight's Raw...but we are being promised separate appearances by WWE Champion Bobby Lashley and Charlotte Flair. John Cena is being advertised for live fans tonight in Orlando, but there's guarantee he'll appear while Raw is on the air. (STINGER: New Japan) There are three unbeaten teams...and three winless teams...after the first weekend of New Japan's Super Junior Tag League. Two of the unbeatens go head-to-head on Monday's show...when Robbie Eagles & Tiger Mask face El Desperado & Yoshinobu Kanemaru. Also on Monday's show, two teams look for their first win in the tournament...when Ryusuke Taguchi & Master Wato go up against SHO & YOH. Plus, an ALL Bullet Club showdown, the unbeaten team of Taiji Ishimori & El Phantasmo vs. the winless pairing of Gedo & Dick Togo Tuesday's Summer Struggle show will provide a break from the Super Junior Tag League...for a main event NEVER Openweight Six Man Tag Team Title Match. Hirooki Goto, Tomohiro Ishii & YOSHI-HASHI defend against Tetsuya Naito, SANADA & BUSHI. New Japan announced over the weekend that all of its wrestlers and staff residing in Japan have now received both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine. A new match announced for Resurgence in Los Angeles coming up on Saturday. It's 10-man tag. Strong Openweight Champ FILTHY Tom Lawlor, JR Kratos, Jorel Nelson, Royce Isaacs & Danny Limelight vs. Lio Rush, Brody King, Chris Dickinson, Fred Yehi & Yuya Uemura. Listen and subscribe at www.JustProWrestlingNews.com I'm Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Saturday, August 7, 2021. A special welcome to those of you listening on WrestleMap.com. If you want to bring our updates to your website...email us: desk@justprowrestlingnews.com. (STINGER: WWE) WWE reportedly released at least a dozen wrestlers on Friday. Most of them were working on NXT and 205 Live. Perhaps the most surprising name is Bronson Reed. He was the NXT North American Champion just a couple months ago. He also got a look recently on Main Event. Other confirmed cuts: Jake Atlas… Kona Reeves... Anthony Henry, who signed with WWE back in January, and was wrestling under the name Asher Hale...Alex Zayne, who was wrestling under the name Ari Sterling. He signed with the company late last year... and Denzel Dejournette, who was recently using the ring name Desmond Troy. More names were reported by Fightful and PWInsider: Bobby Fish… Mercedes Martinez… Tyler Rust, who was part of the new Diamond Mine faction on NXT...and had just signed with WWE last December. Former NXT North American Champion Leon Ruff, who won the title shortly after he signed with WWE last summer… Giant Zanjeer… Zechariah Smith... AND referee Stephon Smith. We got two new matches officially announced for SummerSlam during Friday night's SmackDown. Bianca Belair will defend the SmackDown Women's Championship against Sasha Banks. Belair beat Zelina Vega in a non-title match on SmackDown. Also added to SummerSlam, Edge vs. Seth Rollins. Finn Balor is not over last week's contract signing...and the Universal Title match he missed out on when Baron Corbin interrupted the ceremony...and then, John Cena swooped in to sign the contract himself. Balor steamrolled Corbin on Friday night. After the match, Balor said he still wants his title shot and he'll go through Cena to get it. That drew out Roman Reigns...and The Usos. Balor got the better of them for a bit, but eventually succumbed to the numbers game. KING Nakamura beat Intercontinental Champ Apollo Crews via disqualification...after Commander Azeez got involved. This was a non-title match, but this appears to put Nakamura in line for a title shot. Tegan Nox pinned one half of the WWE Women's Tag Champs Tamina. Nox rolled up Tamina after she was distracted by Shotzi firing a shot from her tank at ringside. One half of the SmackDown Tag Champs Jey Uso beat Dominik Mysterio. The Street Profits returned to action with a win over Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode. (STINGER: New Japan) New Japan's Super Junior Tag League kicks off Saturday with the first three matches at the Summer Struggle show at Korakuen Hall. It's a FREE show on New Japan World. The tournament continues on Sunday...with three more matches: Master Wato & Ryusuke Taguchi vs. Taiji Ishimori & El Phantasmo...Tiger Mask & Robbie Eagles vs Roppongi 3K...and El Desperado & Yoshinobu Kanemaru vs. Dick Togo & Gedo. Team Filthy appeared to gain some extra manpower at the end of last night's New Japan Strong. Team Filthy's Danny Limelight & JR Kratos beat the West Coast Wrecking Crew - Jorel Nelson & Royce Isaacs - in the main event. The two sides were ready to keep going at it after the match, but FILTHY Tom Lawlor himself came to the ring to play peacemaker...and Nelson & Isaacs left the ring with Team Filthy. Pro-Wrestling NOAH's YO-HEY is out of action after a PCR test came back positive for the coronavirus. Five other wrestlers and a referee were also pulled from Friday's show due to contact with YO-HEY. Several upcoming shows in Australia are canceled or postponed due to a new 7-day lockdown in the country over COVID-19 concerns. An extra episode of NWA Powerrr on Friday produced a new champion. Tyrus took the NWA TV Title from Da Pope. Lady Frost is now added to the Empowerrr pay per view on August 28th. She'll be part of a battle royal...where the winner gets a shot at the NWA Women's Title the following day at the NWA's 73rd Anniversary pay per view. (STINGER: AEW) AEW released a bonus episode of Dark Friday night. Eleven matches packed into this one. Billy & Colten Gunn beat The Factory's Nick Comoroto & Aaron Solo. Billy grabbed a handful of Solo's tights as he rolled him up for the pin. Major League Wrestling's TV tapings on November 6th, which were originally set to be held in Chicago..are being moved to Philadelphi's 2300 Arena. Germany's WXW promotion is holding its 20th Anniversary show on Saturday, with Axel Tischer - the former Alexander Wolfe - in the main event. That's JUST Pro Wrestling News for Saturday, August 7. Bobby Eaton was 62. (STINGER: WWE) Another title match is set for SummerSlam. The Usos will defend the SmackDown Tag Titles against the former champs, Rey & Dominik Mysterio. On Thursday's NXT UK…A-Kid beat Jordan Devlin in a 30-minute Iron Man Match...winning two falls to one. A-Kid took the lead with a submission on Devlin with about 90 seconds left...and then held on for the victory. Also on Thursday's show, Blair Davenport beat Xia Brookside. An 8-man tournament will decide the new #1 contender for the Heritage Cup Championship currently held by Tyler Bate. That begins next week with a first round match between Mark Andrews and Noam Dar. As of Thursday night, there's essentially nothing announced for tonight's SmackDown. (STINGER: Impact) The next Impact Plus exclusive, Emergence, is now being promoted for Friday, August 20th. Impact has promised that Kenny Omega will defend the Impact World Title on that show. Two more title matches for Emergence were made official on last night's Impact. Josh Alexander will defend the X-Division Title against Jake Something, who won a 4-Way #1 Contender Match last night. The Impact Tag Titles will be on the line in a 3-Way. The Good Brothers defend against Violent by Design and Willie Mack & Rich Swann. The Good Brothers and Omega were beaten in last night's main event...by the team of Sami Callihan, Eddie Edwards and the ELITE HUNTER Frankie Kazarian. Edwards pinned Karl Anderson with the Boston Knee Party. W. Morrissey showed up and laid out Edwards after the match. Bullet Club has a new member...and it's Chris Bey. Jay White formally welcomed him into the group after Bey pinned Juice Robinson with the Art Of Finesse on last night's Impact. It appears last night was the end of Fire n' Flava. Kiera Hogan & Tasha Steelz lost to Jordynne Grace & Rachael Ellering. After the match, the debuting Savannah Evans came out to beat up Hogan while Steelz just watched. Knockouts Champ Deonna Purrazzo is now set to defend her title against Melina at the NWA's Empowerrr pay per view on August 28th. We also learned earlier this week that Chelsea Green will be part of a Battle Royal at Empowerrr...with the winner facing the NWA Women's Champ the following night on the NWA's 73rd Anniversary pay per view. (STINGER: ROH) The Ring Of Honor women's title tournament rolls on this weekend on ROH TV...with two more first-round matches: Quinn McKay vs. Mandy Leon...and Trish Adora vs. Marti Belle. Also, ROH World Champion Bandido teams up with Rey Horus to face Violence Unlimited's Brody King & Chris Dickinson. (STINGER: New Japan) Tonight's New Japan Strong has the West Coast Wrecking Crew - Royce Isaacs & Jorel Nelson - vs. Team Filthy's Danny Limelight & JR Kratos. Plus, Fred Rosser & Rocky Romero vs. the LA Dojo team of Ren Narita & Alex Coughlin. This week on Wrestling Omakase we take a completely randomized look back at the biggest party of the summer, SummerSlam! The Wrestling Omakase Patreon is your best source for coverage of Japanese wrestling, from yesterday and today. Patrons get so much bonus audio that never hits the free feed, most notably two full length exclusive episodes per month. Right now we're in the middle of our series looking back at every Tokyo Dome main event in order- we just got through 1997, as we discussed the very memorable circumstances behind the start of the famous Shinya Hashimoto vs. Naoya Ogawa feud. We break down each of these main events in detail but also go into lots of other notes and memorable moments from each and every Tokyo Dome show! Plus, our most recent Patreon exclusive full episode reviewed the NJPW WRESTLE GRAND SLAM in Tokyo Dome show in detail, along with all the major matches from the Summer Struggle shows from Osaka & Nagoya! You can also listen to all of our previous audio, including our various rivalry series (Okada/Tanahashi, Naito/Ishii, Naito/Tanahashi), our series reviewing matches submitted by Omakase patrons, ANIME OMAKASE, and much more, with access only costing $5 right now at www.patreon.com/wrestlingomakase!John is joined by returning guests Jeri Evagood (@The_JerriestJer) & Neil David (@chubby_cthulhu) for our SummerSlam Retro Roulette episode! As always for a Retro Roulette episode, we chose six random years and then chose a random match (all done through an RNG) from each one. You can see below for what we ended up with, or skip this and go right to the episode if you'd rather be surprised. All matches can of course be found on either Peacock or WWE Network, depending on where you live/are pretending to live.1991: The British Bulldog, The Dragon & The Texas Tornado vs. Power And Glory (Hercules & Paul Roma) & The Warlord1999: D-Lo Brown vs. Jeff Jarrett2000: Chris Benoit vs. Chris Jericho2005: The Undertaker vs. Randy Orton2008: CM Punk vs. John Bradshaw Layfield2013: CM Punk vs. Brock LesnarTopics that come up along the way include: who does and doesn't have nostalgia for early 90s WWF, The Dragon is maybe every Vince-ism combined, who cares about two titles when you have two large fake breasts to talk about, a very stereotypical Vince Russo finish, doing a 2 out of 3 falls match for literally no reason, THIS FEUD MUST CONTINUE (except it oddly didn't really!), a Taker vs. Orton match that nobody seems to remember (maybe for good reason), Bob Orton's fake wig makes Undertaker very mad, we swear we didn't fix the results to give us two CM Punk matches while his name is in the news lately (honest!), Punk's flaccid 2008 title run, Punk and Brock tear the house down, and finally: forgetting how much Paul Heyman was involved.Follow Wrestling Omakase on Twitter to submit questions for future episodes and get alerts every time new episodes go up (both free feed & Patreon)- @wrestleomakase!Wrestling Omakase has dedicated channels on TWO Discords! (STINGER: Impact) Some new matches are now added to Saturday night's Impact Plus exclusive Homecoming show. Josh Alexander will defend the X-Division Championship against Black Taurus. That's on top of the already announced Hardcore Match between W. Morrissey and Eddie Edwards...and a one-night mixed tag team tournament to crown the Homecoming king & queen. Another Impact Plus exclusive show was revealed last night. Emergence is set for August 21st - the same day at SummerSlam. Kenny Omega will defend the Impact World Championship on that show...against the winner of a battle royale that's coming up in a couple weeks. The ELITE HUNTER Frankie Kazarian made a surprise appearance on last night's Impact...helping Sami Callihan run off Omega and the Good Brothers. Kazarian is now set for a 6-Man Tag on next week's Impact - tagging with Callihan and Eddie Edwards...against Omega and the Good Brothers. It'll be Kazarian's first match in Impact since he left the company back in 2014. Jay White's first match in Impact was a loss. The Good Brothers beat White and Chris Bey. They pinned Bey with the Magic Killer. After the match, White made it clear that Bey is not YET a member of Bullet Club. Still, Bey later helped White stage an attack on David Finlay on Juice Robinson. Earlier...FinJuice, Fallah Bahh & No Way beat Ace Austin, Madman Fulton, Rohit Raju & Shera. Finlay pinned Raju. Moose beat Chris Sabin in last night's main event. Rich Swann & Willie Mack beat Violent By Design's Rhino & Deaner. Swann pinned Rhino with a 450 Splash. Taylor Wilde handily defeated Kaleb With A K, pinning him with a bridging German suplex. Trey Miguel and Steve Maclin fought to a double countout on Before The Impact. It looks like Susan is gone...and Su Yung is back. A vignette last night showed her alongside an “undead” version of Kimber Lee. (STINGER: New Japan) Tonight's New Japan Strong has the finals in the Tag Team Turbulence tournament. It's the Good Brothers vs. Brody King & Chris Dickinson. Back in Japan, there's a busy weekend ahead for the big promotions. New Japan has Summer Struggle shows on Friday and Saturday with an Elimination Tag Match in the main event on both days. Sunday's show has the NEVER 6-Man Titles on the line in the main event. Tomohiro Ishii, Hirooki Goto, and YOSHI-HASHI defend against Zack Sabre Jr., Taichi & Minoru Suzuki. Plus, the “farewell matches” for two Young Lions before they go on excursion. Yuya Uemura goes one-on-one with Kazuchika Okada...and Yota Tsuji faces Tetsuya Naito. Dragon Gate has a pair of big shows on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday's show has Shun Skywalker defending the Open the Dream Gate Title against Kzy in the main event. Also, Pro-Wrestling NOAH has a big show on Sunday...with Naomichi Marufuji defending the GHC Heavyweight Title against Kazushi Sakuraba. (STINGER: ROH) Ring Of Honor's women's title tournament begins on this weekend's ROH TV...with three first-round matches: Miranda Alize vs. Alex Gracia...Mazzerati vs. Nicole Savoy...and Sumie Sakai vs. Rok-C. Broadcaster Quinn McKay is officially IN the tournament. She won a fan vote on the ROH The Experience Facebook by an overwhelming majority. McKay will face Mandy Leon in the first round. That match is set for NEXT weekend's ROH TV. (STINGER: WWE) WWE hosted a conference call for investors on Thursday. There was no confirmation of an upcoming show in Saudi Arabia...but information from WWE does reveal plans for a large-scale international event later this year. On Thursday's NXT UK… Moustache Mountain beat Symbiosis. After the match, NXT UK Tag Champs Pretty Deadly strolled out to jaw at Trent Seven and Tyler Bate. The pecking order in NXT UK's women's division may be starting to take shape. Jinny beat Aoife Valkyrie thanks to a distraction from Joseph Conners...and Stevie Turner beat Aleah James. As of Thursday night, there is essentially NOTHING announced for tonight's SmackDown. (STINGER: AEW) Domino's Pizza told “Front Office Sports” the company is “reassessing” its “advertising presence” after a Domino's ad appeared alongside the live broadcast of Nick Gage slicing Chris Jericho's head with a pizza cutter during a picture-in-picture break on TNT during Wednesday's Dynamite. If Hangman's side wins...he gets a title shot against Omega...and Dark Order gets a shot at the Bucks. BUT if The Elite wins...Hangman, the #1 ranked contender in AEW, will NOT get his title shot. Chris Jericho has a No Disqualification Match against former GCW Champion Nick Gage. This is the second “Labour Of Jericho”...as he seeks a match against MJF. The new IWGP United States Champion Lance Archer defends his title against Bullet Club's Hikuleo. Tonight, it's Jericho vs. Shawn Spears...with the stipulation that Spears can use a steel chair, but Jericho can NOT. Also tonight, Frankie Kazarian vs. Doc Gallows. On last night's Dark… The Bunny rolled up and pinned Big Swole with a handful of tights...after Diamante kicked Swole in the head while the referee's back was turned. The Acclaimed & Private Party beat the Varsity Blondes & Dark Order's Alan “5” Angels & 10. Angels took the pin after taking Private Party's Gin & Juice and Max Caster's top rope elbow drop. The Acclaimed talked trash on The Blondes after the match. That feud is far from settled. Dustin Rhodes beat Aaron Solo in the main event. In an interview with Diamond Dallas Page, Jake “The Snake” Roberts said he recently signed a new two-year contract extension with AEW. (STINGER: WWE) Samoa Joe spent last night's episode of NXT looking for NXT Champion Karrion Kross. Joe is still upset about Kross choking him out at the end of last week's show. There was virtually NO mention last night of Kross' Raw debut on Monday night - where he was pinned by Jeff Hardy in less than two minutes. Kross finally showed up at the very end of last night's NXT...standing over an unconscious GM William Regal in the parking lot. Kross sped away as Joe could only watch. Raquel Gonzalez is still the NXT Women's Champion. She beat Xia Li in last night's main event. The rest of Tian Sha were NOT on hand to back up Li. Xia Li appeared to be injured by a corner splash by Gonzalez. The match was stopped while the medical staff checked on her. After a minute or so, they allowed the match to continue...and Gonzalez quickly put Li away with a chokebomb for the pin. Odyssey Jones beat Andre Chase to advance in the NXT Breakout Tournament. Drake Maverick got an upset, rollup win over LA Knight...after Maverick pushed Knight into the Million Dollar Championship being held by Knight's butler Cameron Grimes. Grimes seemed pleased with the result...until Knight ordered him to punch Maverick in the face. Kyle O'Reilly submitted Austin Theory. Cruiserweight Champion Kushida & Bobby Fish beat The Diamond Mine's Roderick Strong & Tyler Rust. Kushida forced Rust to tap out to the Hoverboard Lock. Franky Monet is now aligned with Robert Stone and Jessi Kamea...but Mandy Rose isn't showing her hand just yet. We got the official announcement that NXT TakeOver 36 will happen on Sunday, August 22 - the day after SummerSlam. On last night's NWA Powerrr...the groundwork was laid for the upcoming Champions Series tournament. This will be a team competition...and the captains are all current champions in the NWA. They drafted their teams last night. The tournament begins next Tuesday. The future of the GHC Tag Team Titles will be decided at Pro-Wrestling NOAH's show on Thursday. The former champs Masa Kitamiya and Katsuhiko Nakajima recently battled in a Hair vs. Hair Steel Cage Match. Safe to assume, they're not going to patch things up anytime soon. So, they each found a new partner to compete in this match for the tag titles. It'll be Masa Kitamiya & Kaito Kiyomiya vs. Katsuhiko Nakajima & Manabu Soya. Also on Thursday, All Japan has a big show..with.Jake Lee defending the Triple Crown against Shotaro Ashino. That's JUST Pro Wrestling News for Wednesday, July 21. I'm not offering any prediction, but on Thursday's Impact...Scott D'Amore said “Slammiversary will be a hot mess”. TJP is OFF of tonight's show. Impact announced Friday he'll be unable to participate. So, Fallah Bahh will need to find a new partner for the 4-Way Tag Title Match. Plus, the TWO Money In The Bank matches themselves. The men's match has Drew McIntyre, Kevin Owens, Riddle, Ricochet, John Morrison, Big E, Shinsuke Nakamura and Seth Rollins. The women's match has Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Naomi, Zelina Vega, Nikki Cross, Natalya, Tamina and Liv Morgan. The kickoff show has The Usos challenging Rey & Dominik Mysterio for the SmackDown Tag Titles. SmackDown was BACK in front of live fans Friday night. And they got to see Finn Balor's return to the main roster. He interrupted...and then, laid out Sami Zayn. Bianca Belair pinned Carmella with the KOD to retain the SmackDown Women's Championship. For the second straight week, Shotzi & Nox beat the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions Natalya & Tamina in a non-title match. Nox caught Natalya in a small package...after Natalya was distracted by Liv Morgan and Zelina Vega brawling at ringside. That win earned Shotzi & Nox a tag title shot. Roman Reigns & The Usos beat Edge and Rey & Dominik Mysterio. Jey Uso rolled up Rey after a superkick from Jimmy Uso. Seth Rollins won a 4-Way main event over Kevin Owens, Big E and Shinsuke Nakamura. Rollins pinned Big E after a curb stomp onto a ladder. Cesaro beat Otis after Chad Gable interfered. Toni Storm will make her main roster debut on next Friday's SmackDown. Davey Boy Smith Jr. is officially back in WWE. He worked a non-televised match under the name “Harry Smith” before the start of Friday night's SmackDown broadcast. WWE has canceled a pair of upcoming live events: A house show in Gainesville, Florida on August 8th...and SmackDown in Atlanta on September 17th. (STINGER: New Japan) New Japan has a Summer Struggle show Saturday. Earlier in the day, New Japan announced Kota Ibushi will miss its show on Sunday due to an illness. It added Ibushi tested negative for COVID-19. The Tag Team Turbulence tournament got underway on Friday night's New Japan Strong… Brody King & Chris Dickinson beat JR Kratos & Danny Limelight. They advance to the semifinals to face Jorel Nelson and Royce Isaacs, who beat Kevin Knight & The DKC. On the other side of the bracket...Yuji Nagata & Ren Narita beat Fred Yehi & Wheeler Yuta...and the Good Brothers beat TJP & Clark Connors. TJP took the pin after a Magic Killer. New NWA Women's Tag Team champions will be crowned at the Empowerrr pay per view on August 28. That's JUST Pro Wrestling News for Saturday, July 17. (STINGER: WWE) Friday Night SmackDown is in front of LIVE fans...for the first time since March of last year...as WWE returns to live touring. Friday night's show at Houston's Toyota Center is SOLD OUT. Around 15,000 fans are expected to be in attendance. It's the last stop before Sunday's Money In The Bank pay per view. Bianca Belair will defend the SmackDown Women's Championship against Carmella. The Universal Champion Roman Reigns & The Usos will tag up against Edge and Rey & Dominik Mysterio. Plus, a 4-Way Match involving SmackDown's Money In The Bank ladder match participants: Kevin Owens, Shinsuke Nakamura, Big E and Seth Rollins. WWE quietly announced the 8th entrant in the women's Money In The Bank ladder match. It'll be Tamina. The NXT UK Championship match between WALTER and Ilja Dragunov being promoted for next week has been called off. WWE announced Thursday that WALTER can not compete due to a severe injury to his left hand. WWE also claimed that the injury was the result of a backstage altercation involving WALTER and Dragunov. There were TWO title matches on Thursday's NXT UK. Tyler Bate beat Joe Coffey to hold onto the Heritage Cup Championship. Bate hit a Tyler Driver 97 in the Fifth Round to secure the win. Meiko Satomura beat Amale to retain the NXT UK Women's Title. Also, Teoman & Rohan Raja beat Ashton Smith & Oliver Carter. Teoman submitted Carter. (STINGER: Impact) Thursday night's Impact Wrestling was the final stop before Slammiversary...and one match was added to Saturday night's card. Brian Myers will team with Tenille Dashwood against Matt Cardona...and a mystery female partner. Dashwood attacked Cardona as he and Jake Something were brawling with Myers and Sam Beale. Scott D'Amore later met up with Cardona backstage and made the match. (D'Amore Cardona Slammiversary) That clip from last night's Impact. Earlier in the show, Dashwood & Kaleb With A K lost a tag match to Jordynne Grace & Rachael Ellering. All appears to be well between Grace and Ellering. Competitors in the Ultimate X Match at Slammiversary clashed Thursday night. X-Division Champ Josh Alexander, Petey Williams, Trey Miguel & Chris Bey beat Ace Austin, Madman Fulton, Rohit Raju & Shera. Bey pinned Shera with a schoolboy. After the match, Bey battered Shera with a steel chair. And he didn't stop there. Once the ring was cleared of the opposition, Bey used the chair to smack Alexander and Miguel as well. Havok pinned one half of the Knockouts Tag Champs Tasha Steelz ahead of Fire n' Flava's title defense against Havok & Rosemary. Joe Doering pinned Fallah Bahh to win a 4-Way main event that also included Doc Gallows and Willie Mack. Moose blew through Hernandez in a matter of minutes. Getting back to D'Amore, he told PWInsider that Matt Striker will be back on commentary for Slammiversary. (STINGER: New Japan) The Tag Team Turbulence tournament begins on Friday night's New Japan Strong...with four first-round matches: Yuji Nagata & Ren Narita vs. Fred Yehi & Wheeler Yuta...Brody King & Chris Dickinson vs. JR Kratos & Danny Limelight...Kevin Knight & The DKC vs. Jorel Nelson & Royce Isaacs...and the Good Brothers return to New Japan for a first round match against TJP & Clark Conners. Back in Japan, the Summer Struggle tour resumes on Saturday...with two singles matches on top of the card: Ryusuke Taguchi vs. Taiji Ishimori...and Rocky Romero vs. El Phantasmo. That's a preview of the Jr. Heavyweight Tag Title match at the Wrestle Grand Slam show later this month. (STINGER: ROH) Ring Of Honor broadcaster Quinn McKay steps into the ring once again on this weekend's ROH TV. If she can beat Mandy Leon, McKay will take her spot in the upcoming women's title tournament. Also on this weekend's episode...an 8-Man Tag. Listen and subscribe at www.JustProWrestlingNews.com I'm Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Monday, July 12, 2021. This update is brought to you by IndyWrestling.us. (STINGER: ROH) There's a new Ring Of Honor World Champion. Bandido upset Rush in the main event of last night's Best In The World pay per view. Rush went after Bandido's mask...but after jawing with the ref, Bandido rolled him up for the pin. Rush and the rest of La Faccion Ingobernable beat up on Bandido after the match. The other major surprise at Best In The World. The arrival of Chelsea Green. She's in ROH...and in the upcoming women's championship tournament. The tournament begins on ROH TV the weekend of July 31st. The finals will be part of Death Before Dishonor. LFI's Dragon Lee is once again the TV Champ. He dethroned Tony Deppen. Jonathan Gresham narrowly escaped Best In The World with the Pure Title. Mike Bennett had a pinfall on Gresham, but Gresham's foot was under the bottom rope. Shortly after that, he submitted Bennett with an ankle lock. Brodie King pinned Jay Lethal after a pair of Ganzo Bombs. Ringside doctors attended to Lethal in the ring after the match. So, Lethal was hurt. HOT SAUCE Tracy Williams is still injured. So, it was up to Gresham to tag with Rhett Titus and defend The Foundation's ROH Tag Titles against Chris Dickinson & Homicide in a Fight Without Honor. Homicide pinned Gresham with a vertabreaker...and he and Dickinson are the new tag team champs. Josh Woods beat Silas Young in their Last Man Standing match after Woods hit Young with a German Suplex from the ring apron through a pair of tables on the floor. Shane Taylor Promotions held onto the 6-Man Titles. They beat Dalton Castle, Dak Draper & Eli Isom. Taylor pinned Draper with Welcome To The Land. EC3 beat Flip Gordon...and The Briscoes beat Brian Johnson & PJ Black. The Miz was at Coors Field in Denver on Sunday for Major League Baseball's All-Star Celebrity Softball Game...but he didn't play. (Miz Celebrity Softball) That clip is from the “Claibs Online” YouTube channel. The Miz was sporting a brace on his left knee and described it as “bum”. He hasn't had a match since May. (STINGER: AEW) Tonight's AEW Dark: Elevation has Darby Allin - with Sting in his corner - vs. Angelico. Plus, Yuka Sakazaki's return to AEW against KiLynn King...and the Varsity Blonds team with Billy & Colten Gunn against The Acclaimed & Chaos Project. If you want to bring our updates to your website...email us: desk@justprowrestlingnews.com. We'll get into the big events coming up this weekend in a moment, but first... (STINGER: WWE) WWE has lost a top star to a major injury. Bayley will be out of action for approximately 9 months after hurting her knee. WWE said it happened during a training session on Friday. Bayley was set to challenge Bianca Belair for the Smackdown Women's Championship in an “I Quit” Match at Money In The Bank. Obviously, that will NOT be happening now. Instead, Belair's title defense will be moved up to next Friday's SmackDown - the first in front of LIVE fans since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Her challenger will be Carmella. Now...Carmella was set to be in the women's Money In The Bank ladder match. But she's now out of that match and will be replaced by Liv Morgan. The final two entrants in the men's Money In The Bank match were decided on last night's SmackDown. Seth Rollins qualified by pinning a bloodied Cesaro...and Shinsuke Nakamura is also in after he scored another win over Baron Corbin. At least three women from NXT are joining the SmackDown roster. Shotzi Blackheat & Tegan Nox debuted last night - announced simply as “Shotzi & Nox”. They were the surprise opponents for the WWE Women's Tag Champs Natalya & Tamina...and they got the win. Shotzi pinned Natalya after a senton from the top rope. The third call-up is Toni Storm. A hype video last night announced that she's “coming soon”. Jimmy Uso did appear on last night's SmackDown. He and brother Jey took a beating from Edge and the returning Rey and Dominik Mysterio at the end of the show. Jimmy Uso was arrested and charged with D.U.I. earlier this week. A formal arraignment is scheduled for later this month. We now know that WWE's Extreme Rules pay per view will be held on Sunday, September 26th...at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. Major League Wrestling is back in front of live fans Saturday night at the 2300 Arena in bucolic and pastoral South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It's Battle Riot III. The Battle Riot match is a 40-man battle royal with wrestlers entering in 60-second intervals. Eliminations are by pinfall, submission or going out over the top rope to the floor. The winner gets a shot at the MLW Heavyweight Championship held by Jacob Fatu. Davey Richards is gonna make his MLW debut. He'll compete in the Riot match...and he'll also go one-on-one against TJP. Richard Holliday will defend the Carribean Championship against King Muertes. Cesar Duran - the former Dario Cueto - will be in attendance in Philly. Plus, a Bunkhouse Brawl between the Von Erichs and Team Filthy's Dominic Garrini & Kevin Ku. The show will be broadcast on BeIN SPORTS starting at 10PM Eastern. (STINGER: ROH) On Sunday, Ring Of Honor presents its Best In The World pay per view. Rush defends the ROH World Championship against Bandido. Jonathan Gresham puts the Pure Title on the line against Mike Bennett. Dragon Lee challenges Tony Deppens for the TV Title. HOT SAUCE Tracy Williams & Rhett Titus defend the ROH Tag Titles in a Fight Without Honor against Chris Dickinson & Homicide. Shane Taylor Promotions defend the 6-Man Tag Titles against the makeshift team of Dalton Castle, Dak Draper & Eli Isom. Plus, Brody King vs. Jay Lethal...EC3 vs. Flip Gordon...The Briscoes vs. Brian Johnson & PJ Black...and Josh Woods vs. Silas Young in a Last Man Standing Match. There will also be TWO matches on Hour One of Best In The World, which will be free to watch on multiple platforms: DEMONIC Flamita vs. Rey Horus...and PCO & Danhausen vs. The Bouncers. (STINGER: New Japan) New Japan confirmed Friday that its Wrestle Grand Slam show in Tokyo Dome will go on as scheduled on Sunday, July 25th...despite a new COVID-19 related state of emergency in Tokyo. The declaration will mean that New Japan will cease ticket sales for the show on July 11th. New Japan's Summer Struggle tour begins Saturday...with the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title being defended in the main event. Sunday's show has the tag titles being defended. Tetsuya Naito & SANADA will challenge Taichi & Zach Sabre Jr. Plus, KENTA returns to action. He'll tag with Yujiro Takehashi against Hiroshi Tanahashi & Yota Tsuji. Impact's X-Division Champion Josh Alexander was on last night's New Japan Strong. He pinned Rocky Romero in the main event. Backstage, Alexander declared he's not leaving New Japan anytime soon. Pro-Wrestling NOAH has a big show on Sunday...with Naomichi Marufuji defending the GHC Heavyweight Title in the main event against Takashi Sugiura. That's JUST Pro Wrestling News for Saturday, July 10. Our next update comes your way MONDAY morning. Enjoy your weekend, and be sure to subscribe to this feed.
