Just Her - Will We Ever Learn (JAMIIE Remix) by Selador Recordings

A long-time and much-loved cornerstone of Selador's extended family, we are delighted to welcome back the zeitgeist-surfing talent that is Just Her. A regular on many era-defining labels (from Anjunadeep to Crosstown Rebels), we are especially proud that Just Her has entrusted us with what we consider to be her one of her most accomplished releases to date. The two brand new originals on show pick up where last year's chart-topping 'Will We Ever Learn' left off. 'Upon the Horizon' once again seeing Claire herself on vocal duties, her sweetly melancholic delivery sitting atop a veritable chugger, all drenched in sumptuous melody. Whilst the breaks driven 'This Life', with its haunting piano refrain and clipped vocal snatches, sounds like a 90s breakbeat classic put through a 2022 electronica blender. And as if that wasn't intoxicating enough, this fearsome threesome is completed by a remix we've had to sit on for a little while, but which has been causing maximum excitement at Selador HQ. Watergate Berlin resident DJ, Jamiie has been on our radar for some time, and the aforementioned 'Will We Ever Learn' seemed like a great fit for a Jamiie remix. Am 12.02.2020 wurde die erste Folge tonic tales veröffentlicht. Heute feiern wir zusammen mit Nico von Durch (war in Folge 36 zu Gast) und Jamiie (unser Gast in Folge 40), die uns zugeschaltet sind und ein paar Fragen beantworten. Wir werfen außerdem dem Blick zurück, versuchen die letzten zwei Jahre zu rekapitulieren, sprechen über die Anfänge und Problem die wir in den letzten zwei Jahren hatten. Aber es soll nicht nur der Blick nach hinten gewagt werden, sondern wir möchten auch in die Zukunft blicken und euch erzählen, was wir in den kommenden Wochen und Monaten geplant haben und worauf wir uns fokussieren möchten. Diese Woche begrüßen wir die wunderbare JAMIIE bei uns im Studio. Sie ist als DJ tätig, produziert Musik, ist Teil des Rise-Kollektivs und Resident-DJ im Watergate in Berlin.
