By Doug Green “The indirect channel is still the fastest way to scale—but only if you know how to build it right.” At the Channel Partners Conference & Expo MSP Summit in Las Vegas, I caught up with Rick Beckers of Channel Sales Pro to talk about a topic that continues to define growth strategies across the telecom and MSP ecosystem: how to effectively build and scale through the indirect channel. Channel Sales Pro focuses on helping technology vendors enter and expand within the channel—specifically by building partner ecosystems that drive revenue. As Beckers explained, many vendors recognize that the indirect model is the fastest path to scale, but they often underestimate the complexity involved in doing it successfully. That's where experience matters. Beckers brings a unique perspective, having operated across multiple roles in the ecosystem—including MSP ownership, TSD leadership, and consulting. This breadth gives him insight into the motivations and challenges of every stakeholder in the channel. One of the key realities he highlighted is that most vendors entering the channel have aggressive growth targets—often aiming for a $100 million exit. Achieving that kind of scale requires more than just signing partners; it requires building a repeatable, well-supported channel strategy that aligns incentives, enables partners, and accelerates deal flow. For MSPs and channel partners, this creates opportunity—but also complexity. Vendors that invest in structured channel programs, partner enablement, and go-to-market alignment are far more likely to succeed, while those that treat the channel as an afterthought struggle to gain traction. The conversation underscores a broader trend across the industry: the channel is not just a distribution model—it's a growth engine. But like any engine, it needs to be designed, tuned, and managed correctly. For vendors looking to scale, and for partners evaluating who to align with, the message is clear: success in the channel doesn't happen by accident—it's built.

'Solo: A Star Wars Story' is wat dat betreft een mooie uitzondering. Een verdienstelijke film, ondanks het hindernissenparcours dat de productie heeft afgelegd.'Solo' is een western in het universum van 'Star Wars', het achtergrondverhaal van het meest kleurrijke personage Han Solo en een buitenbeentje tout court.We hebben het over de gedumpte regisseurs van 'The Lego Movie' en vakman Ron Howard die de meubelen moest redden. Over de ondankbare taak voor Alden Ehrenreich om in de schoenen van een jonge Harrison Ford te kruipen. En over Emilia Clarke die met elke haarkleur staat.Maar het gaat ook over een clandestien 'The Phantom Menace'-feestje, de topjob van een voormalige Finse basketbalspeler en hoe George Lucas en niet Disney de franchise (bijna) heeft kapotgemaakt.

In dieser Ausgabe sprechen Jan und Christoph über die anhaltenden Auswirkungen des Iran-Krieges auf Inflation und Zinsen. Jan stützt sich dabei auf Prediction Markets: Die Wahrscheinlichkeit für eine schnelle Lösung hat sich weiter nach hinten verschoben und Zinssenkungen sind damit vorerst vom Tisch. Trumps tägliche Äußerungen dazu ordnet Jan pragmatisch ein: viel Taktik, aber auch ein echter Anreiz, den Konflikt vor den Midterms zu beenden. Der Kern der Folge ist die dritte Phase der KI: Nach Chatbots und Reasoning-Modellen kommen nun Agenten, die selbstständig handeln. BIT Capital setzt das bereits intern ein, mit rund 15 Agenten, die täglich Risikofaktoren im Portfolio überwachen. Die Konsequenz: Der Token-Verbrauch explodiert und der Infrastruktur-Engpass verschärft sich weiter. Kein Wunder, dass Anthropic-Anteile auf Sekundärmärkten bereits rund 70 Prozent über der letzten Finanzierungsrunde gehandelt werden. Außerdem erklärt Jan, warum er beim klassischen Software-Sektor skeptisch bleibt und warum ausgerechnet Krypto vom KI-Boom profitieren könnte. KI-Agenten, die eigenständig wirtschaftlich handeln, brauchen eine eigene Kapitalbasis. „Dafür eignet sich hervorragend das ganze Krypto-Ökosystem", sagt Beckers. Als Beispiel nennt er Hyperliquid. Zum einen schätzt Jan die nervöse Marktreaktion auf die Nominierung von Kevin Walsh als neuen US-Fed-Chef ein. Spoiler: Er sieht darin vor allem Bestätigung der Makrosicht von BIT Capital. Zum anderen geht's um die Knappheit von Energie und Chips: Der Ausbau von KI stößt hier zunehmend an Grenzen und Datacenter-Betreiber müssen kreativ werden, um den steigenden Strombedarf zu decken. Hier sieht Jan gute Investmentchancen, man muss aber genau hinsehen. Ein anderes aktuelles Thema ist die Sorge der Disruption von Software-Firmen durch KI. Deswegen waren zuletzt Aktien von Software-Unternehmen auf Talfahrt. Damit hat sich für Jan die Diskussion um KI verschoben. Zuletzt ging es um die Frage, ob die KI-Blase platzen könnte. Jetzt sagt er: „Das große Risiko ist, dass KI viel schneller und viel größer Geschäftsmodelle angreift, als viele erwarten.“ Außerdem erklärt Jan, dass der KI-Trend in diesem Jahr erstmals auch spürbare Auswirkungen auf den Arbeitsmarkt haben könnte. Niyah talks about wrapping up her 2nd season as pro in Spain and being back home in The Peg to rest and get ready to train again for the summer and her next season professionally. Niyah tells us about her goals ahead of the next season before she shares how basketball came into her life. The game is a family affair for the Beckers' and Niyah confirms to us that she is indeed the best hooper in her family ! NB talks about looking up to Emily Potter as a young player as well living in Winnipeg. Niyah tells us about playing her last season of high school in the OSBA with Lincoln Prep and how that prepared her for the next level. The next level took NB to the University of Utah as she started her career as a Ute.  Niyah shares her memories of Utah with us and why being a Ute will always be special for her.
