A full four hours of the main man Caribou, recorded live at The Cause last summer. What more could you want to chase the blues away? Dan Snaith is one of the most enduring figures in 21st century electronic music. From early records as Manitoba, to 2010's Swim (which RA called Album of the Year in a runaway vote), to Grammy-winning 2014 hit album Our Love, as well as ongoing collaborations with Four Tet and dance floor excursions under his Daphni alias, the Canadian DJ-producer is a fixture for a reason. Ahead of a Caribou (Full Band) tour across the UK and Europe starting in February, we can now let loose the full four hour recording of his RA Live from 2024. In it, Snaith goes in hard, rolling out bassy, wobbly and fidgety heaters, running through everything from speed garage and UK funky to Afro house and anthemic deep house. Anita a rejoint Daphni en juin dernier. Elle a toujours travaillé dans la finance et l'innovation. Depuis 10 ans, elle s'est focalisée sur les sujets d'innovation et de finance à impact, sous différentes formes. Elle a d'abord participé au lancement de Phenix une start-up de l'économie circulaire, spécialisée dans la revalorisation des invendus dans les domaines alimentaires et non alimentaires. Elle a ensuite rejoint Investir&+ un fonds d'impact investing, à un moment où l'impact n'était pas encore un mot à la mode. Le fonds investit uniquement dans des start-up ayant un impact environnemental ou social. Petit rappel : l'investissement à impact consiste à mettre de l'argent dans des boites ayant un modèle économique et qui visent la rentabilité, mais cherchent à apporter une réponse positive à un enjeu social ou environnemental, peu ou mal traité par les entreprises traditionnelles. Elles placent la recherche de l'impact au cœur de leur développement économique. Anita a ensuite rejoint l'univers académique en prenant la direction de l'innovation et de l'entrepreneuriat de CentraleSupélec. C'est là qu'elle a commencé à se frotter à l'innovation deeptech. Sa mission : accélérer la capacité à faire sortir des laboratoires des innovations de marché. Elle poursuit sa mission au sein de la société de gestion Daphni où elle a notamment participé à la fondation de Time4, une initiative rassemblant HEC Paris, Moussa Camara avec son association Les Déterminé, Live for Good de Jean-Philippe Courtois et le fonds Daphni. Son but : changer les pratiques dans le monde du venture pour aller chercher des entrepreneuses et entrepreneurs qui ont un background différent. Pure energy from one of electronic music's brightest lights: Sofia Kourtesis. Clamour had been building around the Peruvian-born, Berlin-based artist's poignant brand of house music following a string of EPs and 12"s, culminating in last year's Madres—a passionate, vulnerable and excellent album that resonated widely. Madres packed in rare specificity for a dancefloor record, combining paeans to the power of sound with direct tributes to the neurosurgeon who saved the life of Kourtesis' mother. (Kourtesis even took him clubbing in Berlin as an additional thank you.) The album's earworm melodies, sparkling production and approachable aura made it a snap favourite, helping launch Kourtesis from bubbling to breakthrough on the global stage. In both sound and impact, it mirrors another record: Swim, the 2010 classic made by Kourtesis' friend and mentor, Dan Snaith.
