On our previous episode, Laurence and Carlos spoke with John Parkin about big ideas: what they are; where they come from and how to spot them. He shared how big ideas can create real impact with minimum effort. The idea itself does the heavy lifting. However, what happens when you're still searching for your big idea. How do you commit to action when it's not clear?Say hello to our new friend – the minimum loveable big idea. "Big enough to create impact, small enough to try, authentic enough to be loved." It's an idea that aligns with your hopes, dreams and intentions. It sparks curiosity and excitement, and ideally one that you're willing to commit even though it isn't 100% clear. The feeling is strong even if the plan is patchy.Maybe you have a minimum lovable big idea waiting to be birthed? One that has the potential to make a difference, but personal enough to be close to your heart. Each guest for this episode has a story to tell about their own minimum loveable big ideas:Erin McCormack from Boston, USA – The school for inspiring leadersMatthieu Dardaillon from France – Effortless entrepreneurshipKatherine Horsham from the UK – Adventures in nature for womenBeth Derry from the UK – Teenage self-harmLinksJoin the next Vision 20/20 cohortJoin the conversation liveBecome a member of the Happy Startup School
John Parkin knows a good idea when he sees one. As a formed Creative Director of one of the most innovative and exciting advertising agencies of the 1990s, he knows a thing or two about coming up with ideas. He's helped create big ideas for big brands, and he's also had one big idea of his own that has transformed his world. His big idea? F**k It. It led to John leaving his job, Him and his wife Gaia running countless F**k It retreats, and more than 1 million books sold. The happy startup is Carlos and Laurence's big idea. 10 years ago many people didn't get it or thought they were weird. But people remember it, and all around the world it seems to make sense. They've had people run various happy startup meetups in North and South America, Australia and New Zealand, the middle east and all over Europe. If you haven't yet hit on your big idea, this episode with John explores the power of a big idea, How you can spot one, and how to have one of your own.LinksJoin the conversation liveBecome a member of the Happy Startup SchoolJoin the next Vision 20/20 cohort

John Parkin is an author who teaches the power of being at peace with life, just as it is. He believes that only when we completely accept our imperfect lives can we achieve personal peace, and that one of the best ways to actually surrender and live a spiritual life is through profanity! It's an unexpected but hilarious perspective, based on John's his own profound experiences, surrendering to his experience of his life as it truly is, despite its imperfections. In that acceptance and surrender, he found peace and healing. Since then, John and his wife Gaia have been teaching this philosophy and throughout their international bestselling books and retreats, they share fabulous, funny and profane wisdom on how to live a joyful life by caring less. Listen to enjoy hearing John's latest wisdom and the story of how this all began. Show Notes: 1) The F**k It Website

Of: ‘De edele kunst van not giving a f.ck’.

What is the concept of F*ck it(John Parkin) and The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck (Mark Manson) and why does it exist? Plus how you should apply it and why it is useful & relevant to you.
In this episode of the podcast we're in conversation with John Parkin the author of F**k It: The Ultimate Spiritual Way. We hear about his journey of self healing and how saying f**k it was core to it. It's about not holding on so tightly to ideas and concepts and being more aware of the unfair expectations we place on ourselves, situations or events. When it comes to saying f**k it to fear John talks about accepting the feelings rather than pushing them away. He says “we're scared of sadness, pain, vulnerability and grief… in normal times we're all too busy and we don't experience significant pain or joy and so the nervous system is almost frozen. But when you allow people to be more vulnerable and relaxed the ice starts to melt and they get to feel that pain and joy again.” There are so many gems in this episode and so if you struggle with dealing with the high and lows of the entrepreneurial journey then listen on and learn how the f**k it way can show you the path forward.

They soon realised that the phrase ‘F**k It' was a powerful therapeutic tool in itself, and have since written the bestselling F**k It books and run many ‘F**k It Retreats' in Italy. Gaia uses a variety of therapeutic techniques to help people live in a more free and ‘F**k It' way. She has clients around the world and works with them on her own ‘F**k It Magic Retreats' in Italy, in weekend events (in London and Galway, for example), and one-to-one (over Skype as well as in person). She lives by the sea with her family, and spends a lot of time walking on the beach and watching films. http://www.thefuckitlife.com/

He's also written other books in the Fuck It series as well as hosting retreats in Italy with his wife Gaia. John will be joining us at Summercamp this year to give a talk and I so I wanted to get to know him more as well as introduce him to our community. For the longest time, I didn't want to show up on social media. I would find myself comparing to others, or numbingly scrolling for hours. Secret: I did this even on the toilet. I mean WTF? What a lot of us haven't realized is social media is a digital dimension that we are acting engaging in without really understanding the energetic dissidence its causing. You couple all that with trying to navigate the social media world and stay in your feminine essence (goddess this is for you) in a push, masculine driven society... no wonder a lot of us feel burnout on social media. In comes Katie Brockhurst to the rescue. I am so excited about connecting with Katie in this podcast because she drops such wisdom on how to drop back into alignment, and show up on social media in a fun, playful, soft way. YES, You don't have to push. You can use a spiritual approach of trust, faith, and authenticity in your social media strategy.Begone 5 steps to mastering your Instagram. Katie teaches how to shift your energy so you can simply BE versus DO in this new, expanding digital dimension. Social media consultant and coach to authors and experts in spirituality and well-being, Katie Brockhurst is described by her clients as a “Social Media Angel”. It’s more than a nickname: it's a job description, an ethos and a mission statement. Katie has worked with many Hay House authors, including Diana Cooper, Sonia Choquette, John Parkin, Kyle Gray, and Rebecca Campbell. She is loved for her simple, positive, actionable strategies that play to people’s strengths and authenticity, and enable them to create meaningful content, communities, and results online. You can find Katie @katiekdot_socialmediaangle or facebook group: facebook.com/groups/socialmediaforanewage or grab a copy of her brand new book Social Media for a New Age here: https://www.amazon.com/Social-Media-New-Katie-Brockhurst/dp/1912779196/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1533630169&sr=1-1&keywords=social+media+for+a+new+age
'F' it. we know what the F means but it's a word that can upset some people. Yet in this instance John Parkin uses it to change thoughts in an instant so this is a sort of a book review and also a brief explanation how you too can change the way you feel. It's simple and the principle works and you can adapt it and I'll explain how and all in 5 minutes. Enjoy and change Paul
