Bio by Karen Hobson It has been nearly 2 years since my first interview with Graeme -Episode 166 March 2023. I am now 82 and have been on maintenance since then. I initially lost 54 lbs. I was down to 128. During these last 2 years, my weight has gone between 129 and 132. The highest it has been was 134. I have been weighing daily to determine what foods cause water gain. My clothes still fit the same. Doing a 40-42 hr fast is the only way I can lose the water weight. It seems more challenging for me to do the longer fasts now. With my 60 years of diet history, I don't want to find myself back up in weight again. IF is my way of life , and it has been so since August 2017.

World leading organisational psychologists, Adam Grant is this week's guest in The Academy of Imperfection and honestly, we can't believe how much ground the brilliant man managed to cover in this episode. Or how procrastination can actually be a creative force. Or maybe even some tips for those of us who have found ourselves languishing. All of this might seem pretty reasonable stuff to cover. However you might not expect a deep dive into the lessons learned from a junior olympic diving career or an actual magic trick! This ep covers it all…and much much more. Hello! Welcome back to another exciting episode of "The Scaling to Business Success Podcast". In this week's episode, I want to discuss how your next business idea can come from the bare minimum. In last week's episode, I talked about how I created an online course that generated $10k while still working a full time job. But what I didn't talk about was how I literally created that course using what I had: my phone, my laptop, and my willingness to succeed. Many brand new business coaches feel that in order to get started with an online course or a coaching business you need to have all the things: a website, a membership, a course hosting platform, and email list provider, and all the other things that many business coaches have. I want to share with you my thoughts around starting from the bare minimum and how you can create a successful coaching program and online coruse from nothing. Ready to listen in to what steps I'm taking to make this all happen? Let's get into the episode! In this episode you'll hear: How successful ideas come from the bare minimum. When I had the idea of my online course, it literally came to me and I decided to invest into a program that taught me how to utilize it to my advantage. This specific program taught me how to create that course without using a bunch of tech, and it really opened my eyes to how you don't need a lot to help you create a successful online course. If you are starting from the bare minimum and you're starting as a beginner, this is your time to really hone in on what it is you want to do! You truly have the advantage here because no one knows who you are in the online space, and you can truly bring your ideas to life. Why "The Power of Broke" inspired me to take action even when I didn't have a lot. This book by Daymond John is one of the books that inspired me to keep going even when I didn't have a lot of funds to get started with at the time. I didn't have the income for a course hosting platform, I didn't have the funds to create a website, and I didn't even think that I would be where I am today with my business. The point of this book is to show you that what you want to accomplish can happen, you just have to be willing to start from nothing. There's an example in the book of a cupcake shop in my hometown (Nashville, Tennessee) where the owner started at the beginning, and was able to take her cupcakes and turn them into a profitable business all over the country. Don't ever feel as if you can't become an "overnight success" especially when you're putting yourself online. How and why I was willing to start from scratch. In 2022, I decided to stop running my business and take a break from it. This meant that I stopped all of my ads, I deleted everyone from my list because I wanted to do something different. I spent all of my time gaining a lot of overtime at work during summer 2022 because the opportunity was there. But when I came back to my business, I realized that I was starting ALL the way over. Trying to figure out where my audience was now hanging out at, how to create content that would attract them and how to make it all work. What excited me the most about this is that I was able to build my list based on people that I acutally wanted to work with. The people who inspired me the most, and those who I knew that I could help. Not purchasing all of the business things. A lot of business gurus will always recommend some type of asset to help you run your business more efficiently. Every tool they recommend to you is not something that you need at the moment, especially if you're starting at from the beginning. I was the person who bought all the things, and realized that I didn't even need 3/4 of them. Don't be in a hurry to get to a certain level that your business mentors are at. It takes time, and there will come a time when you will need their business recommendations to help your business scale and grow. If you're a business owner or entrepreneur who is struggling with business growth, and you're ready to do something about it, this episode is for you! Tune in to learn some practical tips and strategies for helping you incorporate new habits in your life. Links & Resources: Symone's website Send me a DM on Instagram! In today's episode of Category Visionaries, we speak with Damien Hutchins, Co-Founder of Rollzi, a full truckload carrier provider that's raised over $8 Million in funding, about why it's time for a whole new approach to trucking and how Rollzi is making it happen. Deploying an innovative ‘single-lane relay' strategy in which a network of local transit nodes keep trucks on the road while taking the pressure off drivers, Rollzi is reducing costs, increasing efficiency, and providing a less grueling work lifestyle for the drivers at the heart of their business. We also speak about how, despite being a ‘non-tech guy,' Damien found himself with a career-long history in tech, what excites him about the trucking industry in particular, how drivers deal with difficult schedules, and what Rollzi plans to do about it, and where autonomy might fit into the freight network of the future. Topics Discussed: Damien's background in the tech sector despite being self-professed ‘non-tech guy' How Damien found himself in the trucking space and what excites him about this industry in particular The challenges facing the trucking industry in a post-covid economy and how they inspired Damien to found Rollzi How Rollzi builds efficiency into its business model by bringing a whole new approach to road freight Why automation is far from a panacea for freight, but where it might find a place in Rollzi's business model How Damien tries to strike a balance between the expense of innovation and the need to stay profitable Favorite book: Creativity, Inc.: Overcoming the Unseen Forces That Stand in the Way of True Inspiration

Ana and Camila chat about the development of a Soviet nationwide information network in the 60s that was meant to run a planned economy for the USSR. Built after Sputnik's launch, it brought about Soviet cybernetics and promised a new era for Soviet sciences, mathematics economics and technology.
