Today we'll be hearing personal stories from people who say they've struggled to get timely access to the medical care they desperately needed. Julia Murray is a mom in Conception Bay South in Newfoundland whose 3-year-old son Jack came down with an awful fever in early December. Bianca Gallant of Memramcook, New Brunswick, says she recently had a 14 hour wait in a Moncton ER that ended in her needing emergency surgery.

About Nicki's Book: The Detectives Guide To Ocean Travel For as long as she can remember, Pepper Stark has wanted one thing: to join her father, the Captain, aboard the magnificent RMS Aquitania on a voyage to New York. She has never been allowed to set foot on her father’s ship – until now. From the decadent food to the star-studded passenger list, travelling First Class on Aquitania is every bit as glamorous as Pepper had imagined. And most dazzling of all is American stage sensation Perdita West, wearing the world-famous Saffron Diamond around her neck. When the priceless jewel disappears mid-voyage, Pepper unexpectedly finds herself entangled in the crime. With the Captain’s reputation at stake, Pepper and her new friends set out to solve the mystery. But finding a missing diamond isn’t so easy on Aquitania, where everyone has something to hide Author Links: NICKI GREENBERG Illustrator Links: Sylvia Morris – illustration + science communication About Amie and Ryan's book: The World Between Blinks Discover a magical world where lost things are found ... Whenever cousins Jake and Marisol get together, adventure follows. They have their late Nana to thank for that. Her epic trips and treasure hunts were the stuff of family legend. This summer, with the whole family reuniting for one last vacation at Nana's home, the cousins are in for a legendary trip of their own. Following a map Nana left behind, Jake and Marisol sneak out to a nearby lighthouse - then accidentally slip into another world ... The World Between Blinks is a magical place, where all kinds of lost things (and people!) end up. Everywhere they turn, the cousins find real mysteries from history - plus a few they thought were only myths. But the man who holds the key to Jake and Marisol's journey home doesn't want to be found ... and if the cousins don't catch him fast, they could end up lost in this world forever. I started working with Inside Tracker in 2017.  I liked it because their ranges for your biomarkers change based on your goals. I also think it's important to have baseline and also recurrent bloodwork as you age and also simply as an athlete. Julia Murray is one of the most positive people I know. She's a ski cross olympian and a vegan. Born and raised in Whistler, BC she is the Canadian dream, born to parents Dave Murray and Stephanie Sloane. I've known her for half her life and I think she's the bomb. She's also ridiculously motivated and inspiring.

It's fitting our first ever episode is about photographer extraordinaire Julia Murray - the person behind pretty much every hygge picture you see + the creator of the hygge jingle you'll hear at the beginning of every podcast. She sat down with our host, Mary about her singing (that's right, she used to do it professionally!) + talking about how narrowed her business to focus on what she wants to photograph vs. just saying yes to every opportunity. Basically, it's some good shit.

We are joined by podcast host extraordinaire and multi-creative Heidi Bennett to discuss her pick Four Friends (1981). Rather than the sex comedies prevalent in the early 80s, Heidi found and connected to a more serious coming of age story. Polina and Diana were unfamiliar with the movie, but found the elements that would have attracted our younger sensibilities. Stars Craig Wasson, Jodi Thelen, Michael Huddleston, Jim Metzler, Miklos Simon, Elizabeth Lawrence, Julia Murray, Reed Birney, James Leo Herlihy, Lois Smith, and Glenne Headly and is directed by Arthur Penn. Sword and Scale True Crime

What could be more horrifying, terrible, and heart-breaking than a mother intentionally taking the life of her own child. The fact that there's even a word in the English language that describes it it shocking in itself. The word is filicide and, even though you may have never heard of it, there are too many cases to cover in just one episode of Sword and Scale. We barely scratch the surface in this episode of some of the most horrifying cases of mommies killing their babies. Episode 23 covers some of the more famous cases like Andrea Yates and Casey Anthony, as well as the deplorable recent case of Megan Huntsman and her garage of nightmares. We also touch on more recent cases that will literally turn your stomach, such as Microwave Mom China Arnold and the attempted murder suicides of Elaine Campione and Julia Murray, each of which failed their intended outcome for entirely different reasons. Warning: these cases are highly disturbing. You won't be able to get these stories out of your head. So if you are sensitive to the brutal truth of true crime, then you may want to skip this one.
