It's painful seeing so much sickness and ill-health. And one of the big reasons for so much sickness is the pain so many people's guts are in. IBS, Chron's disease and ulcerative colitis are becoming more common for more people, and tragically as young as 6 months old. This episode is a true gut health masterclass , with someone who really knows his gut stuff and is having real clinical success with real people, Josh Dech.Josh Dech is a Holistic Nutritionist and IBD specialist who believes that doctors often miss the mark by simply prescribing medication that masks symptoms. He advocates for functional medicine, focusing on addressing the root causes of health issues rather than just treating the symptoms. With his Gut 911 approach, Josh aims to heal the gut, rebuild the microbiome, and restore freedom to his clients' lives by addressing the underlying causes of digestive diseases like Crohn's and Colitis. His success in reversing these conditions led him to partner with medical clinics across the country, and he now shares his expertise as a medical lecturer for the Priority Health Academy, teaching doctors to implement his approach. Josh's extensive background includes being a Physician's Consultant for IBD and IBS, a former paramedic, and the Scientific Strategist and Education Director for the Root Cause For Crohn's and Colitis Foundation.Join us as we explore:What is at the root of the continuous rise of gut imbalance conditions like Chron's and colitis, and why the North American population has over 50% of the GLOBAL cases of serious gut disease. How it's possible to cure - YES CURE - the most serious of gut imbalance in just 16 weeks by following Josh's Gut 911 approach. The three reasons you get gut disease, the three ways to treat, reverse and cure them and the specific detox protocols and tools Josh finds success with. How detoxing as principle is woefully misunderstood, leading to worse symptoms and outcomes. The difference between IBD and IBS, and why Josh doesn't believe a specific diagnosis between IBD, IBS, Chron's or colitis is critical to treating, reversing and curing it.Why your gut health is about a lot more than what you eat.Contact:Website: https://gutsolution.ca/aboutInstagram: @joshdech.healthSupport the showFollow Steve's socials: Instagram | LinkedIn | YouTube | Facebook | Twitter | TikTokSupport the show on Patreon:As much as we love doing it, there are costs involved and any contribution will allow us to keep going and keep finding the best guests in the world to share their health expertise with you. Send us a textJosh Dech wasn't long into his career as a paramedic when he realized that he was working in “sick care” instead of health care. His patients weren't getting better; in fact, they were getting worse. After driving the same people to the hospital repeatedly, and watching most of them get sicker or die, he left Paramedics and went into personal training. After working with hundreds of clients, he realized that the common denominator for his clients' health issues, including skin issues, brittle hair, hormones, weight loss resistance, etc., was related to nutrition, gut health and stress. Josh went back to school and became a Holistic Nutritionist and specialized in gut health. He had numerous clients who were getting relief, but he quickly realized the extent of digestive issues with his clients who were living confined to their houses, with up to 50 bowel movements a day, crippling pain and brain fog, who were afraid to leave their house for fear of having accidents. His love for this field of health care came from watching adults get their lives back. Most doctors believe gut diseases are forever.Josh wants to prove them wrong. Today, I am blessed to have Josh Dech here with me. He has a deep understanding of the gut-brain connection. He is an ex-paramedic, and Holistic Nutritionist, specializing in gut health. It was the successes his clients have had with complex digestive diseases, previously thought to be impossible, that got him connected to some of the world's most renowned doctors. Since then, he's been recruited to the Priority Health Academy as a medical lecturer, helping educate doctors on the holistic approach to gut health, and complex digestive issues. Gut health is known to be connected to mental health, emotions, sleep, productivity, concentration, hormones, inflammation, sickness, detoxification, cravings, relationships and more. An unhealthy gut can severely impact our lives. In this episode, Josh dives into various aspects of gut health, emphasizing its ancestral connection and modern threats. He discusses how our gut microbiome, inherited from birth and influenced by environmental factors, faces challenges from the standard American diet and agricultural practices. Josh warns against the consequences of disrupting the microbiome, linking it to the rise of modern diseases. Plus, we touch on plant-based medicine, and Josh advocates for its potential benefits over pharmaceuticals. He underscores the influence of financial interests on healthcare choices. Finally, Josh sheds light on the critical role of stomach acid in digestion and health, dispelling common misconceptions about acid reflux and advocating for a holistic approach to digestive issues. Throughout this episode, Josh emphasizes identifying and addressing root causes rather than treating symptoms.

My guest today is Heather Lillico. I was so inspired by an article I read from Heather on the Tiny Buddha website, where she outed herself as a nutritionist who out of the limelight was actually struggling with an eating disorder, that I was curious to find out more. What I discovered is that her journey of managing and mastering anxiety is not only inspiring, but could really help those of you who are struggling to manage anxiety around speaking. I know so many speakers and aspiring speakers struggle with this and it can really sabotage results, or worse get in the way of you getting started in the first place. Heather is a Holistic Nutritionist, Yoga & Meditation Teacher, and Anxiety Warrior. She teaches anxious, people-pleasing perfectionists how to step into a more confident version of themselves with a natural & holistic approach. She is the creator of the anxiety support app, Cultivating Calm, and believes we can all make mental space for what really matters. Angela welcomes gut health expert, Josh Dech, who explores the profound connection between gut health and mental well-being. Together they delve into the intricate relationship between the brain and gut, discussing how neurotransmitters produced in the gut influence mood and behaviour, emphasising the importance of diet, and highlighting the need for whole foods, the avoidance of intolerances, and the impact of histamines, particularly for those with conditions like Crohn's disease. KEY TAKEAWAYS The gut and brain are intricately connected, with a significant portion of neurotransmitters, such as serotonin, being produced in the gut. This connection influences mental health, behaviour, and overall well-being. Symptoms like bloating, constipation, and acid reflux can indicate underlying gut issues. It's essential to listen to these symptoms as they can provide insights into one's overall health and potential imbalances in the gut microbiome. A diet rich in whole foods, tailored to individual tolerances, is crucial for maintaining gut health. Avoiding high-histamine foods is particularly important for those with conditions like Crohn's disease or colitis. While testing the gut microbiome can provide valuable information, symptoms should be the primary focus for assessing gut health. An organic acid test is recommended for a comprehensive view of overall health. BEST MOMENTS "If the factory that's producing these chemicals is on fire, you're not going to have the end result you're looking for." "I think everything comes from the gut until proven otherwise." "The irony is we go in with these antacids or proton pump inhibitors, and what do we do? We suppress it even further." "It's no wonder that 60% of all North American adults have some kind of diagnosed chronic condition." "If you have gut dysbiosis, an imbalance in your gut bacteria, you're going to end up with neuroinflammation, irritation, imbalanced brain chemistry." Leave Wellness + Wisdom a Review on Apple Podcasts Power Quotes From The Show You Decide What Truth Is "Everything that you need to do to take back your life is the exact same to actually be one of the strongest humans on the planet. Your goal is to change how you feel about life, not what is truth, because truth is not real. It's all what you decide is truth. You get to decide what is good or bad with integrity in your soul, and you get to decide what success is." - Dane Johnson Choose Your Reality "I chose a reality that I'm already healed, that my body is already healing and I'm on my way up. Instead of living in the reality that I'm not there yet and this can't work and I'm exhausted, I'm gonna burn out and quit. Every vibration, every word out of your mouth, every conversation is now more beautiful, more helpful for everyone else, including yourself. Because I believe what is good for others is also good for yourself." - Dane Johnson Be of Value to Others "One of the hardest things spiritually is that you are no longer of value to anybody. Everyone has to do everything for you when you're sick. And so I took back my power to be of value to others. And that is so spiritually nourishing. What gives us all the most value in our life is how we are of service to others." - Dane Johnson Links From Today's Show Dane Johnson Garrain Jones | Harmonized Human: How To STOP Suffering + Create The New 2.0 Version of YOU FREE JOURNAL Dry Farm Wines: Get an extra bottle of Pure Natural Wine with your first membership order for just 1¢ 345 Zach Bush MD: Humanity, Consciousness & COVID19 Unlimited Power by Tony Robbins Josh's Trusted Products | Up To 40% Off Shop All Products Biohacking MANNA Vitality - Save 20% with code JOSH20 HigherDOSE - 15% off with the code JOSH15 PLUNGE - $150 off with discount code WELLNESSFORCE Pulsetto - Save 20% with code "JOSH" SaunaSpace - 10% off with discount code JOSH10 Ultrahuman Ring Air - 10% off with code JOSH Wellness Test Kits Choose Joi - Save 50% on all Lab Tests with JOSH Blokes - Save 50% on all Lab Tests with JOSH FertilityWize Test by Clockwize - Save 10% with code JOSH Tiny Health Gut Tests - $20 off with discount code JOSH20 VIVOO Health Tests - Save 30% off with code JOSH SiPhox Health Blood Test - Save 15% off with code JOSH Nutrition + Gut Health Organifi - 20% off with discount code WELLNESSFORCE SEED Synbiotic - 25% off with the code 25JOSHTRENT

I'm finally (by the Grace of God) not in as much pain as I was. I'm sharing the condition, what I believe led to my particular diagnosis with Bell's Palsy, what I'm doing as a Holistic Nutritionist to support my recovery, and some Faithful encouragement for you if you are in a season of diagnosis, healing, or chronic pain. I'm Cher, a Certified Holistic Nutritionist I love sharing healthy grocery hauls, recipes, nutrition, wellness tips, and faithful encouragement.
