The 2025 NFL Draft is here, which means you won't be tortured by mock drafts for a while! On today's podcast, we're not talking about the '25 prospects at all.... Instead, we'll look back a year, and note how completely incorrect the NFL Draft industry was about many of the skill weapons from *last* year's draft. We'll do this by re-drafting the quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers and tight ends from the 2024 Draft from a dynasty fantasy perspective. Also: a deep dive into the rookie tape of Buccaneers RB Bucky Irving. Guest: Andy Behrens of Yahoo! Fantasy. On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran offers his final Buffalo Bills team and draft thoughts, scenarios and predictions for Buffalo and around the league just hours before the start of the 2025 NFL Draft. There's always so much to chew on and digest in the wanning moments before the draft and this year is certainly not exception. Among other topics, Patrick has thoughts on what bringing Tre White means and how it may connect to the draft as well the next few days potentially serving as a form of indication on how the team is feeling about 2024 second-round wide receiver Keon Coleman, who flashed but was also highly consistent as a rookie. Also, safety is a position being highly discussed and picked for the Bills early in mock drafts by many national media folk, including Malaki Starts going to Buffalo in Benjamin Albright's mock draft. Patrick wonders if the safety talk is just that---all talk.Additionally, several Notre Dame players that Patrick feels like really good fits for the Bills right for now are mentioned, as well as non-first round guys he really likes and doesn't and who his top five most likely Bills first overall picks are as things stand. That plus Patrick breezes through his one and only seven round Bills mock draft that includes not one, not two but three trade ups and more.Major props to Talking Buffalo sponsor, Sonny Red's at 1841 Abbott Road in Lackawanna, just minutes from Highmark Stadium. 8:00AM Hour 3- Jeremy White and Joe DiBiase break down some comments from Bills WR Keon Coleman about what he learned in his rookie year. The guys discuss how he sounds ready to become a much bigger factor in the Bills offense.
8-9am Hour 3 - Jeremy White and Joe DiBIase talk about the improvements that Keon Coleman could make this year that would improve the Bills offense. They also talk with Joey Van Zummeren about his thoughts on wide receiver Luther Burden III.
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Aaron Quinn from Cover 1 for a final Buffalo Bills seven round mock draft. less than two days before the actual NFL Draft commences on Thursday night. As is the case every year, injury reports are emerging on a handful of top prospects just days before the draft, which could push down guys who've been pretty to very high in a lot of mocks. These prospects include defensive tackles Derrick Harmon and Alfred Collins and cornerback Will Johnson. Aaron also shares how he's feeling about wide receiver Keon Coleman going into his second year and what, if anything the signing of Tre White means as it pertains to this year's draft.Kicking the draft off and things mostly go the way the guys want leading up to the Bills pick at 30, at least in terms of cornerbacks. Both Harmon and Derrick Grant are available but go off the board within five picks of Buffalo, showing it's likely Brandon Beane would have to move up for one. Aaron doesn't and is happy take a cornerback with question marks but a very high ceiling. They take what Aaron calls a bit of a luxury pick with their first of two round selections and grab defensive Joshua Palmer at pick No. 62.From there they try to wait on making a trade for specific players a few times that proves to be unsuccessful. The guys end up taking a speedy wide receiver and doubling down at defensive tackle in the fourth round before selecting a bunch of flyers on guys Aaron admittedly doesn't feel great about, lamenting not trading up and having less picks. In all though, it's a haul that both guys seem to like with a heavy emphasis on improving the talent in the secondary, with defensive end being the sacrificial lamb for it. Most Bills fans would surely be satisfied with this draft. 6:30AM Hour 1 Jeremy White asks fans how they feel about Bills WR Keon Coleman after his rookie year. Jeremy points out that both Sean McDermott and Brandon Beane seemed to be disappointed in his start.
7:30AM Hour 2 Jeremy White is joined by Sal Capaccio to recap what we heard from the Bills press conferences yesterday. The guys discuss QB Josh Allen's comments on Keon Coleman, the James Cook situation, and Tre White resigning with the Bills.
Mike Schopp and The Bulldog talk about Josh Allens recent comment on Keon Coleman and having faith in a young player.
The Buffalo Bills are in an interesting position at wide receiver as the 2025 NFL Draft looms just over a week from now. Brandon Beane signed Joshua Palmer during free agency, and the team is also expecting a step up in play from second year player Keon Coleman. The Bills have returning vets Khalil Shakir and Curtis Samuel rounding out the top of the receiver room. Outside of the current top four (Shakir, Coleman, Palmer, Samuel), may fans believe the team still needs to address the position with a speedy downfield threat. The Bills have been meeting almost exclusively with speedier boundary prospects in the lead up to the draft. Join Judge and Tilt as they analyze the tiers of wide receiver prospects for the upcoming draft. Share your thoughts, favorites, and reactions in the comments section. Go Bills!
Mike Schopp and The Bulldog talk about Keon Coleman's rookie year and if the Bills should look to add another WR to their room.
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Matt Warren from SB Nations to discuss several Buffalo Bills topics, including an examination on some of the primary reasons for concerns when it comes to the 2025 Bills as things currently stand.Don't want to get this twisted---this is not a pile on the Buffalo Bills for any and all of their perceived shortcomings with the intention of being negative episodes. In fact, the guys go out of their way to praise Brandon Beane and staff and what appears to be a really solid offseason balance of locking up core players for the long term while investing free agent dollars in areas of need, particularly on the defensive line. The Bills are poised to be in the mix for an AFC championship yet again this season and for good reason---it's a very well put together roster with a lot of strengths, none so more than the MVP quarterback. However, that doesn't mean this is roster without flaws or least question marks around it and both Patrick and Matt put on their critically objective hats and discuss several of them, including what appears to be a pretty big leap of faith that Keon Coleman will grow into a very good wide receiver in his second year, the boundary cornerback position looking razor thin (again, as things stand) and a safety room that least Patrick isn't ready to start believing in.They also wonder how much, if at all the James Cook contract situation could be an issue come training camp in July and if it'll resolve itself or become a New York Jets 2024 Haasan Reddick situation in the worse case. That plus are the Bills doing enough to help Josh Allen be great, will Miami star receiver Tyreek Hill actually end up getting traded, thoughts on Cam Ward very likely being the number one overall pick and much more. You can follow Matt on Twitter @MattRichWarren and be sure to check out Buffalo Rumblingsfor your (really good) daily Bills content.Major props to Talking Buffalo sponsor, Sonny Red'sat 1841 Abbott Road in Lackawanna, just minutes from Highmark Stadium. On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Chris Ostrander (Two in the Box) to discuss how much more the Buffalo Bills can still add to their defensive line given their unique situation as well as some actual reasons for optimism for the Buffalo Sabres.Brandon Beane and his Bills find themselves in a bit of a bind. New additions Michael Hoehct and Larry Ogunjobi are both suspended for the first six games but when they return for Week seven, if the unit stays healthy they could find themselves as part of at least nine defensive lineman already on the active roster. Of course, that's before next month's NFL draft, where Beane's almost certain to add more talent via rookie picks. The guys discuss how much may end up being too much and if there's going to be two rookies as high picks on the roster, who can end up being the odd man out, again muddled up by the suspension of two guys who'll miss a third of the season.Sticking with the Bills the guys also discuss how they're feeling about a month out from the draft in terms of what Beane may (or may not) have up his sleeve. Do Patrick or Chris sense a big Beane move coming? They also spend a few talking about the offense including who's more important to their 2025 success— Dalton Kincaid or Keon Coleman.Turning over to the Sabres, they continue to be bottom feeders in the NHL but for today at least, the guys are discussing some of the reasons for optimism beyond Tage Thompson and Rasmus Dahlin. Chris talks about what he's seen and liked from players such as JJ Peterka, Ryan McLeod, Jason Zucker and Alex Tuch. It's another edition of The Podbag on today's Talking Buffalo and Patrick Moran is responding to a bunch of outstanding questions and comments from listeners, including elaborating on why Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane has done a much better job at drafting since 2018 than a lot of critics give credit for.As with any general manager in sports, it's low hanging fruit to point out every draft miss that GM has made. Beane's certainly had some noticeable misses in the early rounds, including Kaiir Elam, Boogie Basham and Cody Ford to name a few, not to mention some rookies from last year who appear to have a long way to go. That said Patrick not only goes over several of Beane's best hits but goes deeper, revealing who the next prospect picked by another team in the draft was at the same position. It's insane to think what kind of shape the Bills would be in if Beane took the same positional player after guys likes Terrel Bernard, Khalil Shakir, Christian Benford, Spencer Brown and others. Also, there's pertinent questions submitted regarding the importance of James Cook and also how critical is for Keon Coleman to take a huge step in year two—or is it actually?Plus, reaction to Stefon Diggs going to New England, a move Patrick would love to see the Bills make before Week one and the high profile Stevie Johnson vs Darrelle Revis Twitter feud brewing. That plus a few hockey topics, Patrick discusses his favorite new TV show and much more.Major props to Talking Buffalo sponsor, Sonny Red's at 1841 Abbott Road in Lackawanna, just minutes from Highmark Stadium. On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Joe From Queens to discuss a myriad of topics including discussing some of the Buffalo Bills biggest breakout candidates for 2025.Listeners submit a handful of interesting questions and takes on the Bills that leads to some fun discussions between Patrick and Joe. One of them is wondering who's going to be the next breakout star for the team and Patrick suggests that the answer not only could be Keon Coleman but it needs to be him. Brandon Beane didn't do any big game hunting in the wide receiver market and Patrick suspects the biggest reason is the expectation that Coleman takes a major step in his second season. Also, does Joe think the idea of Buffalo trading James Cook is stupid? That's led to many fans turning on him of sorts, and often suggesting the Bills should trade him since they're almost certainly not going to pay him the kind of money he's looking for. Patrick absolutely disagrees with pretty much any trade theory short of a team being stupid enough to overpay to the extent Brandon Beane can't refuse. While agreeing that Cook's snap percentage and a shortcoming or two of his leads to him not being deserving of the same type of money guys like Saquon Barkley and Derrick Henry can command, he explains multiple reasons why he considers trading Cook completely foolish, even if this is his last year on the team. Also Patrick has thoughts on a listener calling the Bills signing of Joey Bosa the Baltimore equivalent of adding DeAndre Hopkins and worries that the Bosa move has Shawn Merriman vibes from more than a decade ago. That plus Keon Coleman being counted on to step up, Damar Hamlin returning to the Bills, Shaun Dolac showing on during his UB Pro Day and plenty more.Major props to Talking Buffalo sponsor, Sonny Red's at 1841 Abbott Road in Lackawanna, just minutes from Highmark Stadium. On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Matt Warren of SB Nation to discuss some of the biggest dilemmas that Brandon Beane and the Buffalo Bills will be facing coming up soon this offseason. Beane and his staff have difficult decisions to make every offseason and this one will certainly be no different. Among the topics Patrick and Matt go over is if Buffalo will keep, restructure and cut Matt Milano and/or Von Miller and it comes clear you can make a case to keep one, both or none. Extensions could also play a huge role in the shape of this offseason. Greg Rousseau, James Cook, Khalil Shakir, Terrell Bernard and Christian Benford among others are all slated to go into the final years of their respective contracts. How many should be extended if possible and what should the pecking order be? Patrick admits to having some reservations about a few players based on how the postseason played out. The guys also chat about what they think should happen with the starting cornerback spot alongside Benford, feelings about Cole Bishop becoming a starter next year and a confidence in level in Keon Coleman taking a big step in his second year. They also have thoughts on a potential Garrett Myles trade, the Super Bowl on Sunday, a potential league rule change and much more. Major props to Talking Buffalo sponsor, Sonny Red's at 1841 Abbott Road in Lackawanna, just minutes from Highmark Stadium. We consider them THE most underrated spot for wings, pizza and other great food in Western New York plus it's a great place to drink and have a great time. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran's Substack Twitter: @PatrickMoranTB Blue Sky: @PatrickMoranTB.bsky.social Instagram: @PatrickMoranTB Facebook: Talking Buffalo Podcast Learn more about your ad choices. Originally aired March 2024. Sam Monson (PFF NFL Show) and host Thomas Emerick trace the evolution of the pre-draft process from the 2014 NFL Combine. Will Aaron Donald check off those boxes? Is Mike Evans fast enough?
