On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Matt Warren (SB Nation) for their weekly chat with the focus today on a handful of sneaky positional draft needs for the Buffalo Bills in addition to a handful of interesting potential Buffalo trade up options and where packaging some picks can get them up to.Cornerback, edge rusher and defensive tackle are three big needs and (very) likely to be addressed early in the draft—possibly even their first three selections. However, there's other positions on this team that could definitely use some reinforcing with both this season and the future in mind. The guys talk about why tight end could be a little more of a priority than most think despite already having both Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox on the team. Also, an interior lineman doesn't have a real path to playing time as a rookie but that doesn't mean a solid mid round prospect can't become impactful as soon as 2026. They also discuss linebacker, running back and even punter as possiblities. Also, the Bills currently hold pick 30 in the first round and two in the second, 56 and 62. Buffalo can stay patient and get three guys that fall to them—or Patrick lays out several scenarios using the latest 2025 draft value chart to demonstrate where the Bills can realistically move up for a prospect(s) without necessarily giving up the farm.Plus, plenty of reaction from everything going on at the Owner's Meetings this week in Florida both from a Bills and league wide perspective. You can follow Matt on Twitter @MattRichWarren and be sure to check out Buffalo Rumblingsfor your (really good) daily Bills content.Major props to Talking Buffalo sponsor, Sonny Red's at 1841 Abbott Road in Lackawanna, just minutes from Highmark Stadium. On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran has his biggest Buffalo Bills Week 15 takeaways on the heels of an absolutely wild 48-42 victory on the road over the Detroit Lions that has the Bills feeling really good about being 11-3 going into the final three weeks. Unlike last week in Los Angeles where Buffalo's offense was in desperation mode trying to catch up and in the game late, Buffalo dominated on both sides of the ball early to jump out to a two touchdown lead and never looked back, despite Detroit's resiliency throughout the second half. Patrick starts by giving a lot of credit to head coach Sean McDermott and his coaching staff---it was obvious from the first snap of the game that this team came to Motown prepared to play and ready to fight. The defense showed grit in allowing Buffalo to stake an early two score lead and offensively Joe Brady had the Lions defense in guess mode throughout. As for Josh Allen, Patrick struggles to even put in words how special this 2024 season has turned into for him. You can't find an outlet anywhere at this point that doesn't think Allen isn't the MVP of the league and Patrick takes it one step further, saying he may be the most physically gifted football player at his position in the history of the game. Removing all the stats and accolades away Patrick hammers home how important it is for Bills fans to just sit back and enjoy being able to watch someone like Josh play every Sunday, it's not something to take for granted. Patrick also talks about a Bills defense that obviously struggled but did enough to win and more specifically, Ed Oliver having one of the best games of his entire career a week after being called out all over the place, including this podcast. Also, should Dorian Williams being getting more snaps, even if it comes at the expense of Matt Milano? That plus Tyler Bass pisses us off again, Dawson Knox comes through bit, Kaiir Elam fills in admirably and tons more. On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Matt Warren from SB Nation to discuss several Buffalo Bills topics, including spotlighting some of the role players that have been making this 2024 season special. Josh Allen has been playing out of his mind and is a clear-cut frontrunner for MVP. He's not only a star in Buffalo but one of the biggest in the league if not all of sports. There's other "star" players on this team too but it's been the heavy contribution of several role/complimentary players that've allowed them to win 10 of their first 12 games. Some of the players specifically discussed by Patrick and Matt include Mack Hollins, Taylor Rapp, Dawson Knox, Dorian Williams, Ray Davis, Austin Johnson and Alec Anderson. They also talk about the job head coach Sean McDermott and wonder if McDermott's evolved both professionally and personally in regards to his relationships with the team over the past year. That plus realizing the Bills have been better off because of last offseason's departures, a look around the AFC and much more. You can follow Matt on Twitter @MattRichWarren and be sure to check out Buffalo Rumblings for your (really good) daily Bills content. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran's Substack Twitter: @PatrickMoranTB Blue Sky: @PatrickMoranTB.bsky.social Instagram: @PatrickMoranTB Facebook: Talking Buffalo Podcast Learn more about your ad choices. On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Joe From Queens for instant live reaction in the moments immediately following the Buffalo Bills absolutely dominating the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday Night Football, scoring at least 30 points for a sixth straight game to improve to 10-2. If there were any doubt that Josh Allen is the frontrunner for NFL MVP it was probably erased tonight. Playing barely more than three quarters Allen threw for two touchdowns, ran for one and for good measure actually caught one (not a typo). More importantly he didn't turn the ball over. The guys talk about Buffalo taking control of the game going into the locker room, 21-3 behind 149 first half rushing yards. That was led by James Cook having 101 on nine first half carries, including a career-high 65 yard scoring run. They also talk about Dawson Knox stepping up nice in place of Dalton Kincaid, Matt Milano's long anticipated return, Greg Rousseau playing his way into All-Pro conversation, a few things about the games they didn't like and much more. On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Joe From Queens for immediate live reactions shortly after the Buffalo Bills ended the Kansas City Chiefs bid for a perfect regular season, knocking off the two-time Super Bowl defending champions, 30-21 at Highmark Stadium. As always the game was well hyped and as always it lived it up to it. The game was in doubt until inside the final two minutes and when it was over Buffalo improved their record to 9-2 and put themselves firmly into number one seed mix by handing the Chiefs their first loss. The guys talk about a Buffalo team that week after week finds a way to put up 30 points despite so many guys being in and out of the lineup, this time not having Dalton Kincaid, Keon Coleman or Spencer Brown. It didn't matter much on this day in part because guys like Curtis Samuel and Dawson Knox stepped up. Of course, when it came to be superman that's exactly what Josh Allen became. They also talk about a defense that forced two turnovers and four Kansas City punts. Also, should the goal post now be moved when it comes to what to expect from the 2024 Buffalo Bills? Is this truly a team capable of winning the Super Bowl? It's another edition of The Podbag today on Talking Buffalo, the episode where the audience controls the narrative and topics. Patrick Moran is responding to several takes and questions, including being asked to power rank what the potential Bills contract extension candidates should be in addition to what should happens when/if Matt Milano's able to return to the active roster. There's several prominent Bills players that could in line for extensions as soon this offseason. Among those are Christian Benford, Terrel Bernard, Greg Rousseau and Khalil Shakir. Patrick's tasked with ranking them and perhaps a few others in order of priority were he Brandon Beane. It's a pretty tough exercise as all the players are important to the team, so it comes down a series of factors that are open to debate. Also, Matt Milano's missed the entire so far and isn't expected back until somewhere in December at the earliest. In his place Dorian Williams has gotten progressively better and become an asset to the defense. A listener wants to know what Patrick thinks Sean McDermott should do when/if Milano's healthy enough to play again and advises fans to not overthink this one. Also discussed are submissions involving Taylor Rapp making a fan not miss Jordan Poyer, an upgrade still wanted at safety, Josh Allen's favorite trait so far this year, the MVP race and what one fan calls "the complete disappearance of Dawson Knox." There's also some Sabres talk and other things discussed. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran's Substack Twitter: @PatrickMoranTB Facebook: Talking Buffalo Podcast Learn more about your ad choices. On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran watched the game film and analyzed the PFF grades and has a series of his biggest Buffalo Bills takeaways following their Week four blowout loss at Baltimore on Sunday night. It's just one game and the Bills are 3-1 a month into the season. If Bills fans and probably the team was offered winning three of their first four before the season started most would've jumped on that. The sky isn't falling and it's worth recognizing that. With that said this was an ugly loss and it's perfectly reasonable to raise questions with multiple areas of this team on the heels of it. That starts with the safeties and Patrick talks about being convinced the Bills have a significant safety problem and wonders if the solution is currently on the roster. One thing he's convinced about it's that the solution wasn't on the field Sunday night. Taylor Rapp and particularly Damar Hamlin were hard to watch against the Ravens. Patrick also wonders why Curtis Samuel hasn't fit into the Bills offense at all a full month into the season and starts to recall that this type of player seems to come and go every year. The difference however is that past candidates weren't costing $8 million. Also, where's Dawson Knox? Most the takeaways from Baltimore, thankfully are considered just as bad night for the Bills and not recurring/chronic problems. Patrick talks about the coaching and both sides of the lines being awful against the Ravens but still having a fair amount of confidence in all those areas. That plus a look ahead and much more. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran's Substack Twitter: @PatrickMoranTB Facebook: Talking Buffalo Podcast YouTube: Talking Buffalo Podcast YouTube Channel Learn more about your ad choices. On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran previews the Buffalo Bills vs Baltimore Ravens matchup coming up this Sunday night in Baltimore, with keys to the contest for Buffalo as well as a handful of bold predictions for the game and a final score. Patrick's still dealing with Covid but it's not stopping him from deep diving into this game including talking about why Baltimore's just 1-2 after their first three games and why this one is so important for them to get back on track. He discusses their elite run but poor pass defense so far this year with of course an emphasis on the Ravens offense led by Derrick Henry and two-time MVP Lamar Jackson. Meanwhile the Bills are undefeated and riding high. Patrick talks about why he thinks coaching has played such a big part of that before getting into Buffalo's biggest keys, which includes Josh Allen staying patient, finding a way to contain the run with light boxes and weathering the storm. From there Patrick has a few bold predictions, including a Dawson Knox touchdown. strong game from DaQuan Jones and plenty of field goals before the team before concluding with a close one score game prediction. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran's Substack Twitter: @PatrickMoranTB Facebook: Talking Buffalo Podcast YouTube: Talking Buffalo Podcast YouTube Channel Learn more about your ad choices.
