There wasn't a better way for the Green Bay Packers to break one of their longest-running customs Thursday night. With Green Bay, Wisconsin at the center of the NFL world by hosting the 2025 NFL Draft, the Packers seized on the moment when Packers president Mark Murphy announced that the team selected wide receiver Matthew Golden out of the University of Texas. The last time the Packers took a wide receiver in the first round of the NFL Draft was Javon Walker out of Florida State back in 2002. Furthermore, the Packers have now taken a wide receiver five times in the first round of the NFL Draft since the NFL-AFL merger in 1970. The previous four were Barry Smith in 1973, James Lofton in 1978, Sterling Sharpe in 1988 and Walker in 2022. Yeah, it's a pretty big deal. The Packers' wide receiver room goes into next season with Golden, Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks, Mecole Hardman, Malik Heath and Bo Melton. Christian Watson will obviously go into the year sidelined as he continues to recover from his torn ACL, so fortifying this wideout group was big on the Packers' list of roster needs. Join Jordan Treske as he goes through a running draft night diary. In this wide-ranging episode, Jonathan and Cody reunite to ask the big questions: When do you stop being “from Kansas City”? Why are people pretending not to swear when they stub their toe? And is there really only 8 billion people on Earth? Because it sure feels like more. Jonathan tells the story of how he lost a sale by telling someone from Salem, MA that she is not, in fact, “from Boston.” Cody coins the phrase “New Orleans Chiefs,” and the guys debate whether moving the Royals across the state line actually matters. Spoiler: it doesn't if you're from Cass County. They also rip apart the new “Eat Like a Baby” diet (Jonathan: “Babies eat slow because they have no teeth!”), and break down the cultural phenomenon of the Hot Mugshot Girl, who may or may not be getting arrested for clout. That naturally leads to a conversation about attractive people getting out of speeding tickets and the complicated ethics of body cams, crime, and charisma. Also in the mix: Why men become obsessed with mowing the lawn after age 30 Whether tall grass once hid saber-toothed mole cats And why the real freaks are the 26% of people who claim they don't swear when they stub their toe As always, Cody wraps things up with some real talk about his tech shop, Akins PC Repair, and their new line of gear that might just outlast your laptop, your phone, and possibly your next several relationships.

In the first few hours of the Trump presidency, hundreds of really bad illegal alien criminals from at least 14 different countries have been arrested during raids by ICE agents. There is so much more to do but it looks like its not that hard to know, target and grab these thugs. Meanwhile, Trump money is just pouring into America. New auto plants, AI, Saudi prince money... it's already into the trillions and climbing. This is incredible. In a sit down interview, Trump thought it was sad that Biden didn't pardon himself. Oh, and they didn't pardon capitol police officer Michael Byrd, either. He's the man that shot and killed Ashli Babbitt on January 6. #titans #chiefskingdom #chiefs #titanup The Kansas City Chiefs are finalizing a trade for Tennessee Titans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, ESPN reports. Hopkins, 32, will help strengthen a receiving corps that has lost Rashee Rice, Marquise Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster to injuries. It's happening: Titans and Chiefs are working to finalize a trade that would send WR DeAndre Hopkins to Kansas City, league sources tell ESPN. pic.twitter.com/aEeKEgI2D8 — Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) October 23, 2024 The Chiefs are expected to send a fifth-round pick that can become a fourth-rounder to the Titans for Hopkins. Hopkins has 15 catches for 173 yards this season for a Titans team that has won just one game and struggled at quarterback. Hopkins had a knee injury in training camp that didn't require surgery. He had 75 catches for 1,057 yards last season with Tennessee. Hopkins is the third prominent receiver over the past eight days to be traded. Last week, the Las Vegas Raiders sent Davante Adams to the New York Jets and the Cleveland Browns traded Amari Cooper to the Buffalo Bills. The Los Angeles Rams have also reportedly initiated trade discussions with teams for former Super Bowl MVP Cooper Kupp. The two-time defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs have the best record in the NFL at 6-0 but have been in the market for a receiver to help quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Brown isn't expected to play in the regular season after having shoulder surgery last month for an injury he suffered in the preseason. Rice also isn't expected to play for the remainder of the season after having surgery two weeks ago to repair the posterolateral corner of his right knee. He was hurt during a victory over the Los Angeles Chargers. Smith-Schuster missed Sunday's victory over the San Francisco 49ers because of a hamstring injury and has already been declared out for the Chiefs' Week 8 game against the Las Vegas Raiders. It's the third straight season the Chiefs have made an in-season trade for a wide receiver. During 2022, the Chiefs sent a third and a sixth-round pick to the New York Giants for Kadarius Toney. He is no longer on the roster, though he did have a crucial punt return in the Chiefs' Super Bowl win over the Philadelphia Eagles in February of 2023. Last season, the Chiefs traded a sixth-round pick to the Jets for Mecole Hardman and a seventh-round pick. Hardman had left the Chiefs to sign with the Jets as a free agent in the offseason. Hardman caught the game-winning pass in overtime of Super Bowl LVIII and re-signed with the Chiefs this offseason. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
