In this episode, I sit down with Giuseppe Papaccio, Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinated for Seton Hall University.Giuseppe is one of the most disciplined coaches I've come across. We got into his daily routines, how he defines success as a coach, and why the mental game matters just as much as mechanics. Giuseppe shares how his time in professional baseball shaped the way he teaches hitters today, and we talked through the balance between swing work and mindset that every great hitter needs. We also dug into how recruiting is changing in college baseball and what players should understand about that shift. Throughout the conversation, one theme kept coming up: preparation, mental strength, and a commitment to continuous learning, and that's true whether you're coaching, developing hitters, or working to play at the next level. On X:Giuseppe Papaccio: @gpapaccio2Patrick Jones Baseball: @pjonesbaseball
In this episode, Steph explores a real-life case that feels eerily similar to A Thin Line Between Love and Hate — except this story ends in tragedy, not movie credits. When Memphis police officer Tony Hayes goes missing after Labor Day 2006, his family immediately senses something is wrong. Their search leads detectives straight to his girlfriend, Monique Johnson, a corrections officer whose jealousy, heartbreak, and long history of turbulent relationships spiral into violence. As the investigation unfolds, the truth behind Tony and Monique's relationship comes to light — the red flags, the manipulation, the rage, and the series of choices that ended with Tony's body found in the trunk of his own car. This episode also revisits Monique's 2023 attempted murder charges, nearly 20 years later, showing that some patterns don't disappear with time.----------------------------------------------------------------------

A Holiday Special in Support of Toys for TotsThis week on We Need Help – The Podcast, Lizzy & Izzy unwrap (aggressively, with zero chill) the real rules of gift-giving season. Because apparently… some people still need a tutorial. We're breaking down: How to Give a Genuinely Great GiftThe kind that says “I know you,” not “I found this at a gas station on the way here.”We'll talk thoughtful upgrades, heart-melting surprises, and the secret to choosing gifts that make people cry in a good, nostalgic, Instagrammable way.How Not to Give a GiftYes, we're calling out the holiday crimes: • The “This is actually for me” gift • The last-minute panic purchase that still smells like the checkout line • The “Here's something to subtly improve yourself” disasterIf you've ever given a vacuum cleaner and called it romance… this is your intervention. How to Make Any Gift Feel MagicalWe'll share the tiny, delicious touches that turn even a simple present into a core memory:a handwritten note, a shared story, a ribbon that actually looks like effort, or a radical thought…. listening to what people say all year. And This Week Matters Even More…Because this episode is dedicated to Toys for Tots, an organization that makes sure kids who would otherwise go without get to feel that spark of holiday magic. We're diving into how to give generously, joyfully, and with the kind of heart that actually changes someone's day… or their whole childhood.Expect laughter, a few emotional gut punches, and at least one confession about a terrible gift we once received and are still recovering from.Listen in, learn how to gift like a grown-up, and maybe… go buy a toy for a kid who'll remember it forever! Episode Overview: In this transparent and insightful episode, Lisa opens up about the real challenges aesthetic practices face as they grow — especially when rapid success exposes operational blind spots. She shares: How a failed acquisition deal became a turning point. Why the non-surgical side of their practice needed TRC's expertise. Stephen Weisberg is a Detroit-based tax attorney who helps individuals and business owners resolve IRS controversies and tax-debt issues. In this episode, he shares how the 2008 recession launched him from corporate bankruptcy work into tax law, why most people wait too long to seek help, and what every lawyer (and taxpayer) should know before they get that letter from the IRS.What You Can Do With a Law DegreeStephen's journey proves that a law degree is both a credential and a toolkit. His early work in bankruptcy law introduced him to financial systems and creditor negotiations, while his tax practice taught him how to translate that technical knowledge into advocacy for everyday people. Tax controversy work isn't glamorous, but it's vital—and it's year-round.“People think I'm busiest during tax season, but that's when the IRS is focused on filing. My work happens the rest of the year," shares Stephen Weisberg on Episode 217 of You Are a Lawyer. He's built a steady stream of clients through LinkedIn networking, attorney referrals, and partnerships with CPAs, CFOs, and financial planners. The relationships he's developed prove that collaboration, not competition, sustains a modern law practice. Most of his cases are handled remotely by phone or Zoom, reflecting how legal work has evolved since the pandemic.Did you know that children as young as 10 can be prosecuted as adults in Pennsylvania? You Are A Lawyer has partnered with YSRP, the Youth Sentencing and Re-Entry Project, to bring awareness to their fight to keep young people out of adult prisons and to advocate for youth lifers. In this episode, I break down one of the biggest mindset traps I see in college baseball recruiting: the “Division 1 or bust” mentality. A lot of players tell me their plan is to go to a Division 2 or Division 3 school for a year, then hit the transfer portal to move up to D1. But in reality, that mindset usually backfires.I share why focusing only on yourself and your end goal often guarantees you won't get there and what kind of mindset actually leads to growth, success, and new opportunities. The players who go on to transfer successfully don't chase D1. They buy in, go all-in on their current program, and play for the love of the game. That's what makes them stand out to coaches at every level. If you're a high school player or a parent helping your son navigate recruiting, this episode will help you reframe your goals and focus on what really matters.Follow Patrick Jones Baseball on X and Instagramhttps://x.com/pjonesbaseballhttps://www.instagram.com/pjonesbaseball/

Imagine everyone around you — family, friends, even your doctors — insisting you have a serious mental illness, yet you're certain they're wrong. This isn't denial — it's a symptom called anosognosia, a lack of awareness that can make treatment nearly impossible. In this episode, guest host Rachel Star Withers, who lives with schizophrenia, speaks with Dr. Xavier Amador, Founder and President of the LEAP Institute and author of the bestseller “I Am Not Sick, I Don't Need Help!” Together, they unpack what anosognosia is, why it prevents so many people from accepting help, and how loved ones can build trust and connection instead of conflict. Dr. Amador has trained tens of thousands of professionals and families in his LEAP method — Listen, Empathize, Agree, Partner — a practical, compassionate approach that helps bridge the gap between awareness and recovery. Please Note: Our regular host, Gabe Howard, will be back next week! “I refuse to get any help because this is not a diagnosis. I don't need this medication. This medication is bad for me. They really don't understand that they have an illness. We need to help people who have anosognosia... They're being pushed through the cracks. They're ending up homeless. They're ending up in our criminal justice system. They're ending up in back bedrooms alone, not talking to family. I mean, they deserve us, us to be attending to this problem.” ~Dr. Xavier Amador, author of I Am Not Sick, I Don't Need Help! Our guest, Dr. Xavier Amador, Founder and President of the LEAP Institute, is a world-renowned clinical psychologist, forensic expert, and author of 9 books, including the bestseller “I Am Not Sick, I Don't Need Help!” His extensive work, books, and clinical research in schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and other mental illnesses have been translated into 30 languages.
