Greg travels to Madrid for a chat with Vanessa Guerra. With the exception of being a rider, there's not much Vanessa hasn't done in MotoGP. The conversation takes in her unique relationship with Marc Marquez, what it's like being a team press officer at the top of motorcycle racing and her switch into the media which included the Inside Pass vlog with Red Bull. There's also a trip down memory lane, including the time Vanessa's racing brother found his collarbone where his elbow should have been, and just how nerve-wracking was it to appear on Eurosport? And did we mention how Colin Edwards tried to get her fired from Forward Racing? In a poignant moment, Vanessa recalls live broadcasting following the tragic loss of Luis Salom. There's also the small matter of a karting challenge with the host (!) while Remy Tissier pops in and MotoGP commentator Louis Suddaby is on the line ahead of this weekend's Americas GP.Follow @GregHainesTV on social media!X - https://x.com/greghainestvInsta - https://www.instagram.com/greghainestvYouTube - https://www.youtube.com/greghainestvContact Talking Away by email:TalkingAwayPodcast@gmail.com
Back-to-back Moto2 World Champion Johann Zarco casts his mind back across his 2016 season and talks Gavin Emmett through how he was able to become the most successful ever French Grand Prix rider. Welcome to Front End Chatter #44, in which Mufga and SiH talk about a couple of MotoGP races that happened ages ago – and including the tragic loss of Moto2’s Luis Salom at Catalunya, the slightly unedifying fallout, the race itself with torpedoes and last lap thrills, and a very necessary handshake to cap it all off. We also natter about TT racing – and in our excitement over the difference between letting a MotoGP bike race in the Superbike class but chucking out a rider for coated cam buckets in another, completely neglect to offer condolences to the family and friends of lost riders Dwight Beare, Ian Bell, Paul Shoesmith, Andrew Soar and Dean Martin. Which we do here. Mufga and Si also discover the joys of Bluetooth headsets, muck about in Wales on BMW’s GS Challenge, ride KTM’s 1290 GT (for the next issue of Bike magazine) and chunter about BMW’s R1200 GSA v KTM’s Super Adventure v Triumph’s new Explorer v Ducati’s new Multistrada Enduro (check it out in a forthcoming issue of Ride magazine). No spoilers. Ok, maybe just a couple. After all that, we run out of time to read out your emails so they’ll be in the next episode of FEC, out sometime next week. Blimey. Love and rockets, email us on anything@frontendchatter.com, Tweet us on @SimonHbikes or @Mufga, check out Facebook, and buy T-shirts and stuff from somewhere. It's been an awful, awful week in the sporting world, and at the start of the show, we pay tribute to Luis Salom, who tragically died during Free Practise 2 for the Grand Prix of Catalunya this past weekend. We'll also be talking about the safety commission's effect on the weekend, and the comments from Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo, as the politics took hold. We'll be reviewing the MotoGP race as well, including Rossi vs Marquez 3, the Iannone/Lorenzo incident, and all the other drama from an entertaining, yet sombre weekend in Spain. Also on the bill, IndyCar's Dual of Detroit, as Conor Daly stole the show despite Sebastian Bourdais and Will Power getting their first wins of the season, and why Power can't go one weekend without finding something to moan about. And we also talk about some Formula 1, as Baku's layout gets revealed, and King unleashes a behemoth rant regarding Top Gear's already falling ratings. It's come under awful circumstances, but for what it's worth, I hope you all enjoy the show. Thanks for listening.
BrotoGP and the entire motorcycle world had a rough weekend at Catalunya, so we start this episode with our thoughts and tributes to Luis Salom. After that we announce some big news, our first sponsor and supporter, RiderzLaw. We jump right into talking about the GOAT and we think you'll be surprised at how well Kev can bro down. Kev goes HAM like Iannone did up Jorge's rear end. The heat and slippery track in Spain definitely made this episode a good one. Enjoy.

(NOTE: This was recorded on May 31st, before the passing of Luis Salom. Obviously, we'll address it on next week's show, but for now, on behalf of all of us, our thoughts and prayers are with the Salom family, his loved ones, and his team.) Murica. Fuck yeah. Alexander Rossi takes the 100th Indy 500, and he was 250-1 to win in a shocking final lap fuel dash against Carlos Munoz and Josef Newgarden. We break it all down, and a shoutout to the first lady of #Motorsport101, Sarah Connors, the world's biggest Rossi fan! We also talk about the Monaco GP, as Daniel Ricciardo had a win ripped out from underneath him as Red Bull botch a stop and Lewis Hamilton takes his first Monaco win since 2008, as Rosberg struggles, and Sergio Perez continues his knack of finding the podium. We also talk all the extra news, including the difficult topics of Jules Bianchi's family suing Marussia, the FIA and Formula 1 groups after labelling his death "avoidable", the news that Adam Cooper allegedly committed sexual harassment to a fan online, the confirmation of the Halo and Aeroscreen being used in F1 from 2017, and we talk about the first episode of Top Gear's return. That's a fact. And we're joined by friend of the show and brilliant YouTube personality Christoper Cook from CookProductions1/2. Find him at http://www.youtube.com/CookProductions1 and enjoy the show!
