Is there any better for a race than Phillip Island? Well, given all the news at the weekend Steve and Gordo report from on the ground with the thoughts of the locals, the staff and the paddock on the bombshell news that MotoGP will move to Adelaide. Will WorldSBK follow? It certainly seems that way. On track, Nicolo Bulega was imperious as he starts his quest for global domination. The Aruba.it Ducati star man is a little more likeable than a bond villain and a hell of a rider. We break down his weekend which featured an incredible, almost unnecessarily, dominant performance in the wet conditions of Sunday. There are plenty of stories to follow this weekend. The first double podium for bimota since 1988 has confirmed the resurgence of Axel Bassani. His Sunday double will have given him a huge boast in confidence that this season he can be a closer challenger to his teammate, Alex Lowes. Lowes was one of the fallers in the wet conditions in Race 2 and we look at what caused many of the falls. The rise and fall of Independent Ducati's is set to be a big story this year. Steve said in our preview show that "on your good days you've got to take advantage of the package." Lorenzo Baldassarri certainly did that. The Italian, who refuses to acknowledge his season aboard a GMT94 Yamaha as a Superbike campaign, impressed the paddock this week. In testing he was quick but to withstand the pressure from Bassani in the closing stages of Race 1 was rewarded with his first career podium finish. Yari Montella had his first career front row and podium too. At BMW are the reigning World Champions in a tailspin? It depends on who you ask. That being said the two-day Portimao Test on March 9-10 will be critical for them. It was a weekend of highs and lows Miguel Oliveira. The rookie had everything thrown at him over the weekend. A superpole crash that relegated him to the back of the field was followed by two superb recovery rides in both conditions to leave him one point ahead of his teammate, Danilo Petrucci, in the standings. The performance gap between them seemed much higher this week. Yamaha's Xavi Vierge was the fastest man in blue this week but came away with zero points after a big crash in Race 1. Andrea Locatelli looked lost for most of the opening round but in wet conditions he found some confidence and came away fifth position. Thanks to Renthal Street for supporting the podcast. The team looks at the week’s motor sport headlines, reviews World Superbikes at Phillip Island, previews Indycar at St Petersburg, and plays the first 2026 round of The Answer’s Not Scott Dixon. This week’s Big Interview is with James Kell.
From Supercars CEO James Warburton’s faith in him before The Bend had even been built to the global award it received that he at first thought was a prank. The importance of forging a relationship with Dorna and the fascinating Covid period convos with Formula One management. Why he can’t stand still and the message for other promoters and circuit owners on acting now to stay relevant. Plus the big news around MotoGP’s move to the streets of Adelaide from Phillip Island in 2027. Why it didn’t end up at The Bend & his part in bringing the key players together as a proud South Aussie including a secret track inspection after the Adelaide Grand Final last year. And what about the rumours of World Superbikes heading this way too? This isn’t just for motor racing fans. Business owners will be glued to his insights in this area too. And Sam shares a few ‘life lessons’ that are takeaways for us all. Hope you enjoy the listen as much as we did during the record. Analizamos lo sucedido en la ronda australiana del WorldSBK y los cambios venideros en el calendario de MotoGP.
It's not our fault Moto GP has left Phillip Island, we were just the ones who told you. The shit hit the fan after the offical announcement that the fastest men on earth would be racing in Adelaide instead of Victoria from next season and lots of people seem to think that means we're to blame just because we told you it would happen last October. Such is the burden of being the real news breakers in the sport but it's a weight we bear happily on your behalf because that's the whole reason we do this show. Well, that and money. Always money. Speaking of which, you can give us some of that wonderful stuff by joining our Patreon Pit Crew and in return we will allow you to be eligible to win some of the greatets prizes in the world which is fiting for the Greatest Motorcycling Podcast in the Universe. So you have two tasks: press play and get properly up to date on what's happening in Moto GP and head to Patreon and sign up to give us money every month. Both will make you more attractive to the opposite sex (or the same sex, or both sexes depending how you swing. Not that there's anything wrong with that!) What are you waiting for? Isaac Smith is filling in for Bali-bound Billy, and kicks it off with the All Sports Report, as we win another medal in Milan, and a dog makes headlines. Essendon's Nic Martin and Archie Roberts are in studio, and Topics Smith has a very popular phoner idea. Kate McCarthy calls in from Canberra ahead of the 2nd Women's T20 between Australia and India, and Isaac puts together a Top 5 list of people who probably were too imbibed to be on air. Greg Rust calls in with more info on Adelaide taking the Moto GP from Phillip Island, then we have an enormous Idiot File. Finally, Billy has sent in a joke from Bali... and it's a little yuck.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Triple M Footy's Stevie J comes in with a dark horse for this year's AFL Premiership, then Kelly and Ryan battle it out in a very shambolic Hump Day Quiz. Daisy puts Fremantle under the gun in his A-W 2026 AFL Season previews, and the best caller in footy Jack Heverin storms in riled up at Billy. Adelaide 36ers star Zylan Cheatham calls in ahead of their game against the Perth Wildcats on Friday - while Billy reads some of his more unusual tweets. In 1986 on Phillip Island, a young woman called Beth Barnard was savagely murdered and her boyfriend's wife, Vivienne Cameron, went missing. The police immediately jumped to what they thought was the obvious conclusion: in a jealous rage, Vivienne had killed Beth and then herself. Vivienne's body was never found. But Vikki Petraitis wasn't convinced. The official line didn't explain all the evidence, and it certainly didn't seem like the behaviour of a mother with two small boys. Fascinated by both the case and the bias it revealed in investigators, Petraitis wrote her first true-crime book about the murder, with Paul Daley, and decades later made a podcast on the case. Both brought new evidence and testimony to light, and asked questions that were not asked at the time. To mark the fortieth anniversary of Beth's murder and Vivienne's vanishing, Petraitis brings together all her discoveries and true-crime experience in a brilliant forensic investigation into what happened all those years ago, and why. In this episode Gregory Dobbs chats to Vikki Petraitis about why she has returned to this forty-year-old cold case, about her insights into the Philip island community, and why she is not convinced that the police investigation had reached a reasonable conclusion.

“Anything that's happening in our area we try to be a part of.”The Crafty Pint Podcast returns for 2026 in the company of Renn Blackman, one half of the powerhouse husband-and-wife team behind one of the sunniest and funnest breweries in the country. The family influence at Blackman's runs deeper than just Renn and Jess too: parents and others helped get the business up and running – quite literally when it's come to knocking their venues into shape – and some are acknowledged in core range beer names. They're also big on community, sponsoring many causes and clubs, as well as partnering with events big and small throughout the Surf Coast and Geelong region. They've brewed beer for the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race and you can now enjoy their beers at the Cats' stadium – a major achievement for lifelong Geelong fan Renn.As well as discussing the ethos that's helped Blackman's evolve to where they are today, Renn tells us how he and Jess first met while working a snow season, about their travels both within Australia and overseas, the genesis of the brewery, their decision to operate multiple venues before such an approach started becoming commonplace, diversifying, running fun events, and the secret (or not-so-secret) to making great beer.At the start of the show, Will and James round up the stories we've published so far this year: the return of a Hop Nation founder to his winemaking roots; the launch of one hospo pioneer's new venue; a bucolic experience on Phillip Island; and a new culture club in Tassie. If you enjoy the show, please like, subscribe, rate and review on whichever podcast platform you use.Start of segments: 18:44 – Renn Blackman Part 1 39:36 – Enter the Royal Queensland Beer Awards 40:40 – Renn Blackman Part 2To find out more about featuring on The Crafty Pint Podcast or otherwise partnering with The Crafty Pint, contact craig@craftypint.com.

Surprising, riveting, overdue? The 35th Australian Grand Prix provided another notable episode of MotoGP. Adam and Dave down another coffee and call Neil who's wrapped up against the Phillip Island winds to talk about round nineteen of the season.
You have to hand it to Phillip Island: there's no track quite like it. I don't mean that metaphorically, by the way - it really is unique in two very specific ways. First of all, there's the fact that this track's high speeds and twisty turns demand the type of agile bike that normal aero cannot give you. The solution? An official exception from normal aero setup. Also, this lay-out of high-speed turns makes a fool out of holeshot devices. It all results in some fantastically old-school racing, even if the new tarmac means that the troubles of the tire game are no longer what they once were. (Of course, I don't have to tell you this if you're one of our amazing Patrons - you'll have already heard all about it in Peter's Track Talk!)So what happened? Well, Raúl Fernández finally made good on that promise he showed back in Moto2 by grabbing first place in his first-ever Grand Prix win. Coming from a completely different kind of underdog-position is Fabio Di Giannantonio, who fought his way through half the grid before snatching a second place from the jaws of potential defeat. And then there's Bagnaia, who's running stream of bad luck is something we really have to talk about. Alright, that's enough of me yapping. Hit play, enjoy, and cheers!Want more?
