Geoffrey Sean Crowell https://www.gcrowell-fx.com/ is a native of Denver Colorado. He attended Denver East High School where he excelled in art, music, sports and academics. Geoffrey then attended Hampton University in Virginia on a full academic scholarship, where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Art with the emphasis in Graphic Design. While attendingCollege, Geoffrey was passionately involved with the Art Club, Marching Band, Jazz Band, and the Student Newspaper. When graduating, he was recognized as a Who's Who in American Colleges/Universities, and immediately received his first job offer out of college to work as a Graphic Designer for the Central Intelligence Agency.As a child, Geoffrey was a big fan of Animation and Special Effects within Hollywood Movies, and always had a dream of somehow working behind the scenes on the next big movie. Wanting to still pursue that same dream, Geoffrey decided to turn down the job offer with the C.I.A. and further his education by receiving his Master'sDegree in Film with the emphasis in Special Effects from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia. Within the same month after graduating, Geoffrey hit the ground running and began working on Hollywood Movies, as a Computer Generated Special Effects Artist. Over the years, he has had the opportunity to work at a variety of Production Studios around the world and loved every minute of it. Some of his film works include: The Avengers, Iron Man, Transformers, Battleship, Prometheus, Fast and the Furious, and many others. In between the time when Geoffrey wasn't working on a movie, he also worked as a Motion Graphics Designer, creating Commercials and Promo work for various Television Networks, which include: TNT, TBS, AMC, Cartoon Network, MTV, BET and others. Today, Geoffrey has started a new chapter in the News Industry and works as a Motion Graphics Designer for Tegna, Inc. There, he is responsible for creating Motion Graphics for 60 News Stations across the country. This award-winning motion graphics designer and commercial artist has an impressive roster of clients, including Headspace, Viceland, Playboy, MTV, and Lil Uzi Vert. On top of that, he recently received a coveted Young Guns award! Very impressive!I caught up with Magnus a few months after his win, and he talked about working as an animation director with Strange Beast and settling down in upstate New York after a recent stint in Miami. It's easy to see how he landed on motion graphics and visual effects. He tells us about some of the challenges of finding work as an immigrant despite having done some award-winning work. Venus also shares details on some really cool projects he was a part of where they used projection graphics onto historical landmarks in Mexico. We also talk about the work that he did for Heineken, Amstel Light, Dos Equis as well as some poster designs he did for popular DJ's like Steve Aoki.

Born in Milan (Italy), she developed an early passion for Fine Arts, Graphic Design and Animation. After graduating and earning a Bachelor of Arts in Digital Film Making through SAE Institute Milan and the Middlesex University in London, she started working as a freelance Motion Graphics Designer, Illustrator and Animator for multiple studios with the goal of matching my technical abilities to her restless creative mind. While gaining more experience, she discovered that her true passion was found in concepting , designing and directing for motion. I first heard about Xavier Ruffin back in late 2013 during his fundraising campaign for Mad Black Men, a satirical web series inspired by Mad Men about the 1960's ad industry from the eyes of three Black ad workers. We also featured Xavier on our "12 Designers to Follow on Behance" post last year. So imagine my surprise when Xavier contacted me and wanted to be on the show. How could I say no? Xavier's work is so much more than this one campaign though. We talked about his company, his title sequencing work for several popular artists like T.I., Childish Gambino, and Wiz Khalifa, and many more.
