Out Now on Amazon: Two Types Of Fans by Ayaz Aftab Hussain https://amzn.eu/d/7c7oHM2 Do you need a music manager? Not all artists benefit from having an artist manager decide the direction of their career. One of my biggest music manager tips before you hire somebody to take 15% of your music income is to stop and PRIORITISE your activities. Focus on creating content that attracts industry eyeballs instead of waiting for an artist manager to bring you opportunities you couldn't attract yourself. Musicians asking the question "when to find a music manager" simply need some business to manage. Instead of giving a manager a percentage of revenue from gigs / merch sales / beats, it's much easier to hire a virtual assistant at the start to send out invoicing and keep track of incoming money.

This is the story of how my Soundcloud account got deleted... but then my next mixtape got my first 100K plays. It sounds crazy but reaching your first 100000 plays isn't impossible. It takes a unified strategy of targeting both musicians and fans together in unison. This is NOT a video teaching you how to get 100K plays with Facebook Ads, "consistency", trend chasing or any other hack tactics. For 7 years I was doing the worst possible steps to promote a mix on Soundcloud. The truth is that I got my first 100K plays on Soundcloud because of the STORY that other musicians could relate to. I learnt how to promote a mixtape by using the narrative of why I chose those songs, how the overall vibe made me feel and who the musicians were in the songs I was playing. If you want to get more plays on Spotify, the same principle applies to tell an amazing story about the song and why it's worth people listening. From the bottom of my heart, I hope these tips help you reach your first 100000 streams and get more plays on Soundcloud.
