Not many people can say their debut film played at the esteemed Cannes Film Festival, but this week’s guest Katrin Gebbe can. Katrin joins the boys to talk about her newest film “A Nocturnal Breath” which is a part of genre anthology “The Field Guide to Evil”. She also talks about the painfully true story that led her to make her first film, “Nothing Bad Can Happen”. In the intro, Randy doesn’t appreciate Clark and Russ’s bit for “Her Smell”. Clark talks about the latest Soderbergh iPhone film while Russ took a chance on “Midget Zombie Takeover”. Thanks again to Artsploitation for sponsoring this episode! Power takes many forms. Sometimes it's physical, sometimes it's just a shared belief. Sometimes it's not even real. This week we talk about that sort of thing but first Michael tells his story of suddenly maybe becoming a millionaire and also of losing his passport on his way to the airport.---- This week's links ----[1] Nothing Bad Can Happen by Michael Forrest is on Spotify and iTunes etc...[2] "Feminism 1" - Michael's kidney stone travails - http://grandpodcast.com/5aafd227902b84804c100b3b.html[3] History of Bitcoin - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_bitcoin[4] Completely silent computer - https://tp69.blog/2018/04/17/completely-silent-computer[5] Windrush scandal - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windrush_scandal---- Credits ----Music is by http://michaelforrestmusic.com---- Follow us on Twitter ----https://twitter.com/ivankahttps://twitter.com/michaelforresthttps://twitter.com/PodcastGrand---- Find us on Facebook ----https://www.facebook.com/grandpodcast See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Welcome the newest episode of Dark Discussions, your place for the discussion of horror film, fiction, and all that’s fantastic. As we did for last year, this year Dark Discussions is discussing some of the top genre films that your co-hosts are looking forward to seeing in 2014. Horror, sci-fi, fantasy, thriller, techno-thriller, mystery. You name it, it's coming. Last year looked like it was going to be one hell of a year but by some it turned out otherwise. Yet this year, once again, filmmakers everywhere are whetting the chops of genre fans throughout the world. For those so inclined, here is the short list of what we discuss in the episode. Kevin Smith's Tusk, Eli Roth's Green Inferno, Oliver Blackburn's Random, Ti West's Sacrament, Simon Rumley's The Last Word, and the Joe R. Lansdale penned and Jim Mickle directed Cold in July. Other horror films include Willow Creek, Devil's Due, The Jungle, Hellions, Occulus, All Cheerleaders Die, Scorned, Nothing Bad Can Happen, The Loft, Faults, and Afflicted. Some bigger films spoken of include Joe Hill's Horns, Guardians of the Galaxy, Christopher Nolan's Interstellar, Deliver Us From Evil, and the Scarlett Johansson's film, Under the Skin. Many remakes or sequels discussed include The Town that Dreaded Sundown, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Poltergeist, The Purge 2, Rec 4: Apocalypse, Wolf Creek 2, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Robocop, Dead Snow: Red Vs. Dead, X-Men: Days of Future Past, and The Hobbit: There and Back Again. But we discuss a few more films including co-host Mike and Eric's opinion on the new Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones which was just released. Plus other films that may be low profile that seem interesting are Joon-ho Bong's Snowpiercer, Sinbad the 5th Voyage, I Frankenstein, the Lance Henricksen film Harbinger Down, Pompeii, Edge of Tomorrow, Big Bad Wolves, Nights of Badassdum, the thriller simply titled +1, and the dark thriller Nurse 3-D (among others). So come and listen to what your hosts think of the new year and whether it will live up to the hype. As always we welcome your comments: darkdiscussions@aol.com (written email or attached mp3 files) WWW.DARKDISCUSSIONS.COM
