Drawing on years of working with both men and women on sexual and spiritual intimacy, masculinity and finding one's purpose, John Wineland shares how he's trying to help men across the world. A renowned men's group facilitator, teacher and thought leader, John encourages people to embrace a paradigm shift where masculinity celebrates femininity, presence and liberation. Discover the power and purpose of men's groups (and where to find them), gatherings of men fueled by accountability and real friendships that transcend superficial bonds like sports and booze. With empathy that is far too rare these days, John speaks directly to men who feel displaced, isolated and forgotten in this dynamic time of change in our world. John's message offers clarity and inspiration for men navigating challenging times. He also discusses the secret to handling the grief of losing his daughter (the inspiration for Justin's film, Five Feet Apart) with grace and healing, made possible largely because of the support he found in his own men's group. Whether you identify as a man, woman, trans or nonbinary, this conversation will probably make you want to learn with John, and will have you cheering for him to accomplish his ambitious goal of creating 10,000 men's groups around the world. Being vulnerable is no easy task. Sharing our pain and fears and struggles can make us feel exposed, weak, and susceptible to others' criticisms. Add in our own personal stigmas against things like therapy and vulnerability, and getting honest ends up being one heck of a challenge. Today, we have the honor and pleasure of talking to singer-songwriter Andy Grammer about his experience with all of the above. Andy talks about the grief of losing his mother in 2009, but how caring for his own mental health didn't enter his reality in a big way until 2020 due to the pandemic. As a pretty lively and energetic person who sings a lot of uplifting and catchy tunes on stage, Andy also shares how he has and is using music to make room for the heavier things in life, too. Multi-platinum artist Andy Grammer continues to engage, energize, and empower audiences with stomping stadium-size pop anthems meant to be shared at full volume. His observations and affirmations pick people back up when they need it, affirm their potential, and encourage them to keep going. His catalog consists of numerous bona fide hits, including the quadruple-platinum single “Honey, I'm Good;” the platinum singles “Keep Your Head Up,” “Fine By Me,” “Don't Give Up On Me,” “Fresh Eyes,” and “Good To Be Alive (Hallelujah);” the gold single “I Found You;” and the gold albums Andy Grammer (2011) and Magazines Or Novels (2014). He has generated billions of streams and lent his music to films such as Five Feet Apart. Download a transcript of this episode at twloha.com/podcast. On this episode of “The Language of Love,” Dr. Laura Berman sits down for an intimate talk with Justin Baldoni, best known for his role as Rafael Solano on “Jane the Virgin.” Baldoni is also a director (“Five Feet Apart” and “Clouds”) and a podcaster (listen to “The Man Enough” podcast here). Solano is also the author of “Man Enough: Undefining My Masculinity,” an engaging and daring exploration into what it means to be a ‘man' in today's society, and how we are failing boys and men in many ways. On this episode, you will learn: • Why the term ‘toxic masculinity' can be harmful • How the definition of manhood has shifted in the last few decades, leaving many men struggling to find role models or clear examples of the kind of man they want to be • How dangerous gender roles can be when it comes to young boys who are encouraged to never cry or ask for help • How we can create gender equality without demonizing men or masculinity • How you can find your own definition for masculinity • Why women seem to be attracted to a certain type of masculinity, and how we can reconfigure our desires so that we don't always go for the ‘bad boys' Check out Justin Baldoni's Man Enough book here, and keep an eye out for his new guide for middle-schoolers which will be published soon!

Noelle Rubinstein has gone a long way in very little time. Maybe it's from landing her first full-time job in entertainment while she was still in college. Or maybe it's from reading 50+ books a year. But Wayfarer Studios, the socially-driven company that brought you Five Feet Apart, is lucky to have Noelle as its Social Media Manager. Hear her ambitious story on this week's episode of The Mailroom!
Celina's choice! Is Cole Sprouse simply a former child actor/current angsty heartthrob/kind of weird dude? Or is he the conduit for a broader re-contextualization of so-called "bad acting"? Let's get tangential. This episode contains spoilers for: Five Feet Apart, Riverdale (through season 3), and Borrasca.Hosted by Celina Siegel & Tess HotzEdited by Celina SiegelTheme song by Sam WaltersCover art by Celina Siegel

Today we watched five feet apart, a chronic illness drama about two teens with cystic fibrosis who fall in love during a long term stay at a sick kids hospital. Through this film we tackle the trope of disability as a romantic obstacle, which despite being a frustrating literary device is still extremely resonant for disabled people in reality. Also, we talk about the challenges of explaining disability to strangers (especially children), the unfounded embarrassments of feeding tubes, the over-romanticization of inaccessible tourism, and how to spot unhealthy disabled dating opportunities.
In this episode I will be telling you which is better In my opinion the book or the movie

"Shazam!" is such a blast that we wanted to review it a week early. It's one of the many films that Alonso, Matt and Christy discuss on the latest episode of Breakfast All Day. We also review Tim Burton's disappointing live-action "Dumbo," catch up with the teen weepy "Five Feet Apart," rave about the beautifully acted indie drama "Diane" and wallow in the sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll of the Motley Crue biopic "The Dirt." But first, we start out with some sad news and some happy news: the death of French New Wave legend Agnes Varda at age 90 and an exciting new gig for our great friend Grae Drake as Ms. Moviefone. If you know the name of the podcast you'd like to hear, press one. And enjoy.
