Have you watched a lot of cheerleader media (cheerleadia?) Yeah, we are assuming you've not seen All Cheerleaders Die (2013) but do come listen anyway and see if Alice can persuade you (and G and Holly) that it is, in fact, the Greatest Film Of All Time, in our Halloween special. There's magic and witches and an undead cat and glowing gemstones and blood and murder and cannibalism and zombies. It's gay, it's a remake (somehow)  and the goth eyeliner is terrible. Wrap up warm in the spooky season as G explains the plot because Alice has brain fog and Holly has no idea what's going on in this trashy flick, with its 90s SFX and pit full of spikes. Along the way there's more references to Lord Of The Rings than you might expect (or want, if you are Alice), discussion of diamond knives, and Alice discovers the sound effects button on the recording equipment. Truly haunting.CN: Mention of cannibalism, swearing, spoilers (although we really don't expect you've seen it and that's ok, listen anyway, get spoiled, it's ok) and discussion of a sexual nature.

Actually, Mike and Ade do a piss poor job at convincing Jake at watching this 2013 film about angsty teenage girls who all die in a car accident and come back to life to exact revenge on their killers. It's basically cheerleaders versus pervy football players in this Lucky McKee flick. If you like May and The Woman, you might just like this little horror comedy. The movie stars Caitlin Stasey, who is starring in the upcoming Smile, Sianoa Smit-McPHee, Brooke Butler, and Tom Williamson. So, Goons, will we make Jake watch this film?? June is Pride month, and the critics agree: Too Scary is still one of the gayer podcasts about movies that are too scary. It is hosted by Shannon Brown and Mark Carter. All Cheerleaders Die is a 2013 American horror comedy film written and directed by Lucky McKee and Chris Sivertson. It is a remake of their 2001 film of the same name that was also written and directed by McKee and Sivertson, and it stars Caitlin Stasey.

They Mostly Podcast at Night - Horror Movie Reviews with Chaos and Carnage

This week on They Mostly Podcast at Night, it’s week 3 of Pride month and the dyspeptic duo are back with another indie pick. Chaos is thrilled because we’ve got lesbian blood-suckers! Carnage is happy because...that’s how she is. But also because it is time to grab your pom-poms, date the star football player, and try not to die when not in the vicinity of a Wiccan with resurrection powers! If you are a new listener to the PaNcast, be aware there are spoilers and expletives ahead! We break down the movie, go through a summary, offer analysis, trivia, arbitrary awards, reviews, ratings, fanfiction and more! All Cheerleaders Die is currently streaming on Prime and Tubi. Set in 1965, rebellious teenage Heather (Agnes Bruckner) is sent to a remote all-girls boarding school by her resigned parents, where she has strange, violent dreams and struggles to fit into the school power dynamics. Very soon, she starts suspecting that the teachers, led by the chilly Mrs. Traverse (Patricia Clarkson) might be hiding something. Directed by Lucky McKee, the mind behind such horror cult classics as May and All Cheerleaders Die, this is a witch film big on atmosphere. I'm joined in this episode by producer, presenter and podcaster Louise Blain, host of the Killt Podcast. We talk about the atmosphere of the film, the power dynamics of boardings schools, all-female environments and a lot about Bruce Campbell. *** The Final Girls are a UK-based film collective exploring the intersections of horror film and feminism. Yes, they ALL have new projects in the works. We also give you updates on YET ANOTHER Sharknado movie, as well as what's new with The Stand and World War Z 2, plus introduce you to The Bringing. Welcome the newest episode of Dark Discussions, your place for the discussion of horror film, fiction, and all that’s fantastic. As we did for last year, this year Dark Discussions is discussing some of the top genre films that your co-hosts are looking forward to seeing in 2014. Horror, sci-fi, fantasy, thriller, techno-thriller, mystery. You name it, it's coming. Last year looked like it was going to be one hell of a year but by some it turned out otherwise. Yet this year, once again, filmmakers everywhere are whetting the chops of genre fans throughout the world. For those so inclined, here is the short list of what we discuss in the episode. Kevin Smith's Tusk, Eli Roth's Green Inferno, Oliver Blackburn's Random, Ti West's Sacrament, Simon Rumley's The Last Word, and the Joe R. Lansdale penned and Jim Mickle directed Cold in July. Other horror films include Willow Creek, Devil's Due, The Jungle, Hellions, Occulus, All Cheerleaders Die, Scorned, Nothing Bad Can Happen, The Loft, Faults, and Afflicted. Some bigger films spoken of include Joe Hill's Horns, Guardians of the Galaxy, Christopher Nolan's Interstellar, Deliver Us From Evil, and the Scarlett Johansson's film, Under the Skin. Many remakes or sequels discussed include The Town that Dreaded Sundown, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Poltergeist, The Purge 2, Rec 4: Apocalypse, Wolf Creek 2, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Robocop, Dead Snow: Red Vs. Dead, X-Men: Days of Future Past, and The Hobbit: There and Back Again. But we discuss a few more films including co-host Mike and Eric's opinion on the new Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones which was just released. Plus other films that may be low profile that seem interesting are Joon-ho Bong's Snowpiercer, Sinbad the 5th Voyage, I Frankenstein, the Lance Henricksen film Harbinger Down, Pompeii, Edge of Tomorrow, Big Bad Wolves, Nights of Badassdum, the thriller simply titled +1, and the dark thriller Nurse 3-D (among others). So come and listen to what your hosts think of the new year and whether it will live up to the hype. As always we welcome your comments: darkdiscussions@aol.com (written email or attached mp3 files) WWW.DARKDISCUSSIONS.COM
