Les home cockpit sont des cockpits construits par des passionnés cherchant à reproduire le plus fidèlement possible celui d’un avion existant. Pour en parler avec nous, nos deux invités de la semaine sont Jean-Luc et Guillaume. Jean-Luc a initié la construction de son home cockpit il y a maintenant plus de 11 ans. Il a par la suite été rejoint par son fils Guillaume qui l’a aidé au fur et à mesure. Rubrique thématique Tout d’abord, ils nous expliqueront comment ils ont été amené à se lancer dans un projet aussi exceptionnel. Nous irons en détails sur les phases préliminaires à la construction avant de nombreuses heures passés à essayer de trouver toutes les informations telles que les dimensions et les différentes fonctionnalités. Ensuite, nous évoquerons les nombreuses difficultés inhérentes à ce type de construction. Nous parlerons du fonctionnement du cockpit avec ses nombreuses interfaces électroniques mais aussi de la parte informatique basée sur Prepar3D. Pour conclure, Jean-Luc et Guillaume nous raconterons l’intérêt suscité par leur cockpit sur les réseaux sociaux avec notamment leur chaine Twitch devenu populaire. He spent much of his childhood fascinated with space exploration -growing up in the shadow of Apollo and under the direct influence of science fiction films suchas Star Wars. The latter shaped his desire to work in the film/television industry.Having worked in the television industry in Australia, the United States, Great Britain andGermany for nearly 25 years, Dwight's professional qualifications helped to complement hisunderstanding of the pioneering television achievements of the U.S. space program.Initially to satisfy his own curiosity, Dwight combined his professional background with hisinterest in spaceflight and researched the television systems developed by NASA. To hisdismay, he discovered that while the information was available, it was not easy to access, andhad never been comprehensively written about. He set about to change that, and ended upwriting the ward-winning book, "Live TV From the Moon" as well as “Live TV From Orbit.”An avid space historian, Dwight places a great amount of detail in presenting the story with therespect it rightfully deserves, but is often unfairly denied. Eleanor also contributed to development of drug reference monographs for Space Shuttle andInternational Space Station medications. He attended Penn State University under an Air ForceReserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) scholarship and graduated in 1990 with a degree inAerospace Engineering. Called to active duty in May of 1991, he entered Undergraduate Space and Missile Training toenter Air Force Space Command. As an orbital analyst, he carried out early orbit and stationkeeping maneuver planning as well as orbital refinement for the Global Positioning System(GPS) and the Defense Support Program (DSP), along with some work on the DefenseMeteorological Satellite Program (DMSP).Tom enjoyed several additional assignments with Space Command as a crew commander,chief of training and operations support flight commander in Turkey and at Vandenburg AFB inCalifornia. While at Vandenburg, he was involved in Titan II and IV launches.Outside of his paid career, Tom maintains an interest in all things related to space. He is an active member of The Mars Society, having led the Analog Rover Project, and founded The Kepler Prize for Mars Mission Design within the organization. He has authored several papers for presentation there, as well as articles for the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Journal of Spacecraft and Rockets and Space Operations Online Magazine, The Space Review, High Frontier (the Air Force journal for space professionals), and Space Times (the Magazine of the American Astronautical Society). As the Mars Society project manager for the Tethered Experiment for Mars inter-Planetary Operations (TEMPO) mission, Tom led project development, public affairs, and fund raising efforts. In this effort, he became an amateur radio operator with the call-sign KB3RXN He currently serves as a JPL Solar System Ambassador. Space: What Now? Is his first published book.
