In this episode, I had the pleasure of interviewing the amazing Patti DiNucci. Patti is an expert in something that has always intrigued me: networking. And not just any kind of networking, but doing it better, rather than doing it more. As entrepreneurs, we are constantly bombarded with advice about the importance of networking to find clients. But for someone like me, there's a limit to how much networking I can handle before needing a breather. Patti's perspective is refreshing and makes me think, "Maybe there's a better way to approach networking." Patti brings a wealth of knowledge and experience as a speaker, workshop facilitator, and consultant. Join me as we delve deeper into the art of networking with her and discover how we can improve our networking skills without feeling overwhelmed. So, grab your favourite beverage, sit back, and get ready to learn some practical tips and insights on networking from the brilliant Patti DiNucci. Let's jump right into it! Purposeful networking is essential in being successful and maintaining mental wellness. We are accountable for who we allow in our personal space. We are responsible for what we allow to happen to us and around us. We must be intentional and selective and unapologetic in protecting our space and brand.

Jennifer Lynn Robinson, CEO of Purposeful Networking, is a resilience connoisseur. In 2008, she was involved in a near-death accident and has had to reinvent herself several times. Her TEDx talk speaks to getting back in the ring -- she uses boxing as a metaphor and that's what grounds her. It's a beautiful story of resilience and determination. Time after time after time she was told to try something new, to reconsider something else, to move on. Jennifer's story is not about rolling with the punches. It's about creating a life on purpose. You don't want to miss this one. Jennifer and Natalie share their personal challenges after they each suffered a brain injury the same year. Jennifer discovered her super power is networking and did a pivot from consulting to speaking about networking. Today, Jennifer provides resources to individuals and organizations about networking and how to increase your connections. I've had more than 50+ guests on Legal Grounds up to this point, and almost all of them can point to a moment when something in life “hit them like a ton of bricks,” or came crashing in like a “train off the tracks” and changed their path.My guest this week, however, is not speaking metaphorically when she says life hit her like a loaded pickup truck. Because it did. Literally. In 2008, Jennifer Lynn Robinson was a 10 year attorney who had everything going for her: solid marriage, first-time home owner, promising career. And that's when a truck decided to jump the curb and nearly kill her. Initially thrilled to have simply survived, Jennifer began the long journey toward relearning, well… everything. She has since taken up boxing, spoken on the TedX stage, become a Pennsylvania delegate for the Vision 2020 campaign, and in the meantime, she managed to found her own thriving business venture - Purposeful Networking. Jennifer and I discuss what it means to be grateful in the face of trauma, how to deal with those who don't want you to get back up, and why networking is both overwrought and absolutely necessary. Enjoy the show! ADDITIONAL SHOWNOTES:Man's Search for Meaning, by Victor Frankel Atomic Habits, by James ClearVarious Works, by Adam Grant

This week on Flashpoint: Host and KYW Community Affairs reporter Cherri Gregg asks the burning questions about networking across gender lines in the age of #MeToo. This week actor Terry Crews gave emotional testimony about a business networking experience in Hollywood that turned into a sexual assault. Cherri also had a recent experience that raised questions on how men and women can better interact to avoid sexual tension. Jennifer Robinson, CEO of Purposeful Networking, Peggy McCausland an employement lawyer and president of the Forum of Executive Women Greater Philadelphia region and Dr. George James a marriage and family therapist weigh in providing advice and insight on how to set boundaries, avoid lawsuits and keep away from trouble at home. Our newsmaker of the week is State Rep. Jordan Harris, one of the lead sponsors of the "Clean Slate" bill signed into law this week by Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf. The bill will allow hundreds of thousands of Pennsylvanians with criminal pasts to get certain records automatically sealed from employers after 10 years. The legislation is the first of its kind. Harris discusses the bi-partisan effort, it's roll out and what's up next in Harrisburg when it comes to criminal justice reform. Our changemaker of the week is known as the "Hug Guy." David Hale Syvester is a big man, with a bigger heart. He's spent the past 17 years traveling the world giving hugs and high fives to strangers. At a time with division is at an all time high and civility is at an all time low, Sylvester's documentary, book and message of humanity and love is sorely needed.
