Patrons get to hear about her passion for crochet and what her most challenging project has been. Runaround Sue by Jennifer Lynn CaryShe gave away something precious……He lost a part of himself. Can they find a way to help each other heal?Sue is hiding out until she is sure her former reputation won't destroy what she's trying to rebuild. Unfortunately, that means this brilliant wordsmith turned semi-hermit is working beneath her potential and dealing with stress every time her office door opens. The last thing she needs to do is greet some biker guy who sets her nerves to jumping just by being in the same room. And if his hairy face isn't enough to put her off, the mere fact that he's male is.So why does she keep ending up in his presence?Mac is home from Viet Nam and if he never thinks about that place again, it will be too soon. Instead he's returned to his music that got him through his teen years, his exotic senior trip overseas (thanks to his Uncle Sam), and the deep wound that he brought home with him. In Invited to Witness: Solidarity Tourism Across Occupied Palestine (Duke UP, 2023), Jennifer Lynn Kelly explores the significance of contemporary solidarity tourism across Occupied Palestine. Examining the relationships among race, colonialism, and movement-building in spaces where tourism and military occupation operate in tandem, Kelly argues that solidarity tourism in Palestine functions as both political strategy and emergent industry. She draws from fieldwork on solidarity tours in Palestine/Israel and interviews with guides, organizers, community members, and tourists, asking what happens when tourism is marketed as activism and when anticolonial work functions through tourism. Palestinian organizers, she demonstrates, have refashioned the conventions of tourism by extending invitations to tourists to witness Palestinian resistance and the effects of Israeli state practice on Palestinian land and lives. In so doing, Kelly shows how Palestinian guides and organizers wrest from Israeli control the capacity to invite and the permission to narrate both their oppression and their liberation. Okay, so "retro romance" isn't an official category, but when an author's books barely squeak into historical, what's she to do?  Especially since some of her target readers lived those years!  Jennifer Lynn Cary writes split-time and retro romance novels that sound so delightful and encouraging that I've added them all to my "want to read" list on GoodReads. Note: links may be affiliate links that provide me with a small commission at no extra expense to you How One Woman's Ministry Turned into an Inspired by Life Story When I saw the title of this book, I was excited. My own experience with prayer shawl ministries intrigued me. How would a prayer shawl be the impetus for a story?  What kind of story? Well, if you read the reviews, you'll see that readers are LOVING this book. The pull between life dreams and responsibilities and love of family and their expectations is such a familiar and understandable one.  I am eager to read this book and enjoy its inspirational themes for myself. But Jennifer Lynn Cary hasn't just written a book about prayer shawls and climbing corporate ladders. In addition to that book, she's also written The Weather Girls Series--a fun romp through the seventies. Ever wondered what life was like back in the seventies for parents?  Grandparents?  Older siblings?  Younger siblings? Well, Jennifer has absolutely provided that. With fun pop culture (unless you're an ignoramus like me!) references and all, you'll be transported back in time to see what Indiana life was like. So much of the author's personal experience has influenced these stories in one way or another, but that's not all. Jennifer Lynn Cary offers a free novella for folks who sign up for her newsletter (or you can buy it if you want to). In that, you'll get an even closer, personal look at her family's life including Colonel Sanders, her first pen pal, and more! Speaking of The Weather Girls, don't forget to read the box set so you can get that recipe for French Silk Pie.  You never know when someone you know might need a husband-getting dish... or is that just "need to get a dishy guy"? (Also available on Kindle Unlimited. Just sayin'. The Traveling Prayer Shawl by Jennifer Lynn Cary Her dream account just landed in her lap... ...So did the future of her family And she's got two months to save them both. Cami Madison's grandmother died, leaving her with a task she must complete or all the inheritance goes to charity. Plus her boss handed her the ad campaign that will win her the coveted vice presidency opening. Both have the same timetable. When she realizes the projects are intertwined, things really start to unravel. Kate Hanson raised her granddaughter after the child became an orphan in a car accident. But not all scars are on the outside. Can Kate's last request help Cami to heal? Will Cami be able to step up to the job? You will love this split-time women's romance because when family is on the line, everyone knows the only way to survive is wrapped in prayer. Order The Traveling Prayer Shawl now. I've had more than 50+ guests on Legal Grounds up to this point, and almost all of them can point to a moment when something in life “hit them like a ton of bricks,” or came crashing in like a “train off the tracks” and changed their path.My guest this week, however, is not speaking metaphorically when she says life hit her like a loaded pickup truck. Because it did. Literally. In 2008, Jennifer Lynn Robinson was a 10 year attorney who had everything going for her: solid marriage, first-time home owner, promising career. And that's when a truck decided to jump the curb and nearly kill her. Initially thrilled to have simply survived, Jennifer began the long journey toward relearning, well… everything. She has since taken up boxing, spoken on the TedX stage, become a Pennsylvania delegate for the Vision 2020 campaign, and in the meantime, she managed to found her own thriving business venture - Purposeful Networking. Jennifer and I discuss what it means to be grateful in the face of trauma, how to deal with those who don't want you to get back up, and why networking is both overwrought and absolutely necessary. Enjoy the show! ADDITIONAL SHOWNOTES:Man's Search for Meaning,  by Victor Frankel Atomic Habits, by James ClearVarious Works, by Adam Grant

Let´s talk about health and a healthy lifestyle. What is it actually? Is it just the food we eat or what is it? If you would like to know how to start to create a balanced healthy lifestyle this episode is for you. Years ago I started to minimize my home and my belongings and I have learned a lot during this time. When you minimize your belongings you´ll be aware of the things that really mean something for you and I think that’s interesting to know that all the clutter could hold you back for years. What I also learned is that when people starts to get rid of things they don’t need, like or use anymore they often starts to declutter the wardrobe, and that’s my favourite space. As I always have worked with clothes in different kind of ways in my life I wanted to dive into it a little bit more. I created a course: Wardrobe Code 101 which includes:   How to find you personal style How to get rid of the clothes you don’t need, like and use How to organize and take care of your clothes    Wardrobe Code 101 is now open for enrollment. For now I have an early bird price, so if you feel this is exactly what you need, go to my website www.ylvamariadesign.se/wardrobecode101.se and sign up. The early bird price will disappear on Sunday the 4th of April 12 pm CET. The course will take you from overwhelm to stress-free mornings and you will feel relieved over that your wardrobe isn’t over full anymore. There are so many benefits of having a smaller wardrobe. Read more at my website. You can also find the link in the description for this episode. I can’t wait to see you inside of my course. In this episode I have a conversation with Jennifer Lynn who is holistic health coach. She has very interesting thought on how to create a balanced life. October 24, 1992. Marietta, Georgia. 22-year old Heather Uffelman and her 22-year old fiancée, Jeremy Rolfs, make a lengthy drive from Tennessee in order to sell expensive computer equipment to a man calling himself “Tom Johnson”. After meeting Johnson in a motel room, he bludgeons the couple with a hammer before stealing the equipment. While Jeremy survives the ordeal, Heather succumbs to her injuries. Eighteen months later, a Nashville man named Thomas Steeples is arrested for the brutal murders of another couple in a motel room and becomes a promising suspect in this crime, but soon dies in jail of a drug overdose. Was Thomas Steeples the mysterious “Tom Johnson”? If not, then who was the actual perpetrator? April 23, 1992. Athens, Georgia. 22-year old University of Georgia student Jennifer Lynn Stone is found raped and strangled to death inside the bedroom of her off-campus home. Two of Jennifer's cameras have been stolen, but they are eventually recovered and linked to an unidentified man who traded them for drugs on the morning of the crime. Even though investigators have a lot of physical evidence to work with, including DNA, they are unable to match it to the perpetrator. Some of you know that I went on sabbatical mid of 2019, and one of the places that we visited was Marrakesh in Morroco. My friend Anass Koudies recommended a traditional cocking workshop outside the city, so I and the family went there, and it was one of the highlights of our trip to Marrakesh. One of the people that I got to know in the workshop was Jennifer Lynn, host of the Morning Edition on NPR radio. She was playing with our son and later in the day I got to know she's a professional radio host. We talked about podcasting, radio and so many stuff. When we returned to our home in Riyadh, I asked Jan to come to the show and talk about radio life. I wanted to know what it is like to wake up every day at 3:30 AM ! and boy, I was so intimidated having a professional host on my show! The voice quality is okay, but not perfect.
