Main Point. Some will be deceived and depart from the faith, but the faithful embrace God's goodness with thanksgiving. Driving Question. How must the church guard against deception? 1. Expect apostasy (v. 1) Application. Be prepared for some to deconvert and abandon the faith. 2. Expose deceitful teaching (vv. 2–3) Attributes of false teaching: Demonic (v. 1) Deceitful (v. 1) Distorted (v. 2–3) Applications: Be ready and remember: Satan attacks God's character and changes God's word. Always reject your own works as God rejects them. Self-denial cannot change your heart, nor your position before God. 3. Embrace God's goodness by the word and prayer (4–5) Responses. Repent from holding on to anything but Christ. Rest in the centrality of Christ's work. Remember the certainties and warnings of God's Scriptures. Recognize the difference between legalism and godliness. Receive Christ and all things with gratitude from God.

We say this all the time: God loves you, right where you are. Receive Christ. Then we receive Christ, for many, a whole yoke of performance and perfectionism gets thrown onto our backs. We strive and perform and wear ourselves out trying to fix ourselves and make ourselves lovable. We end up walking past His […]

The history of the Old Testament Israelites shows us that if we want to follow God, to be faithful to him, we need Christ Jesus in our hearts and lives. Although as sinners we have been unfaithful to God, he is gracious and merciful to us, and welcomes us, through faith in Christ. Watch on youtube: https://youtube.com/live/ClF0lgs9sU0
Faith was very young when her parents chose her to be their daughter. Faith was given the opportunity to grow up in a loving Christian home where she became a member of a new family, received a new identity, a new name, and eventually a new inheritance. She was chosen! God spoke a lot to Faith about her true identity in Christ. He made beauty from her ashes and she found a lot of encouragement in the Bible and other sources. God was calling her to be her best self. “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; before you were born, I sanctified you; and I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5 Resources: "Search for Significance" - Robert McGee "Changes that Heal"- Henry Cloud Podcasts/Sermons Bible -(Specifically loves of Abraham, Job, and Moses) “Jesus is Calling,” Nicholas James Vujicic is an Australian-American Christian evangelist and motivational speaker. Jesus is the LOVE of Christmas. Pastor Aaron, teaching from Matthew 1, walks us through how to respond to this great truth. 1. RECEIVE Christ, who came to save us from our sins (v. 21), 2. TRUST Christ, who proves that God keeps all His promises (v. 22), and 3. SHARE Christ, who is Immanuel, God with us, forever (v. 23).

Every man's sins are written down. God will judge each man out of the record. Secret sins wil be brought to light. Sins never committed opnely will also be brought ot light. Yes, all sins will be brough tot light, but the greatest sin will be that of rejection of CHrist. There is no sin so terrible as refusing the loving Savior. The second death is a future certainty for the Christ-rejecter. Choose today where you will spend eternity. Receive Christ and make heaven your home today.
Faith is always a public decision. Matt Queen Author of "The Gospel Invitation" uses scripture to exhibit public displays of inviting people to receive Christ. Matt expounds upon why Christians in the modern world should be doing the same, why repentance is distinct for and to everyone, and the different approaches to bringing followers to Christ. Aliens, A.I. and Quantum Computers Tom Donnan pt 1 Tom Donnan is back and we are so blessed to have him here with us. Every time Tom comes on to discuss current events in relation to Bible Prophecy of the end days, we are always amazed at how close we really are to the soon return of Jesus. Amen! Help me welcome back to the program, our good friend, Tom Donnan! Tom, thank you for coming back on, brother! I've been looking forward to catching up with you. Amen! Let's start off with something you shared about something the Lord first showed you way back in 2010, about the Elitists taking over the world. Let's open with you sharing a little bit about what He showed you and how that compares to what we see today… We talked about the move towards “social scoring” as a way to control what you say and do in public. Share with us a little about this system which Communist China has implemented and how it applies to us today… So we have Bud Light and others facing huge amounts of loss of sales. Normally, this would get the CEO fired. But not in woke companies, correct? Why is that? You shared with me about a company whose owners as Centillionaire. Not millionaires. Not even Billionaires. But CENTILLIONAIERS! That is a huge amount of money. You shared these people own companies that sell us products and then use it against us in social engineering. Explain that for us… The Sinister Reason Companies Are Going Woke (It's Not What You Think!) - YouTube Folks, as we wrap our discussion with Tom Donnan today, I want to emphasize, we are not doing this to instill fear, but hope. Hope in the Jesus. Hope in the Word. Hope that unbelievers do not have and are incapable of having – UNLESS they become a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and what He has accomplished for us. http://bible.com/events/48944972 Church of the Nazarene Harrisonburg Your Un-Churched Neighbor Part 4: Teaching Disciples make disciples. Series Purpose: To inform, inspire, equip and challenge us as the people of God to embrace our unique calling to be a counter-narrative people, to do His will and serve others, and to speak the truth in love, to those who are far from God, as we tell of what He has done in our lives and for the whole world. Luke 19:10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”The focus for today is: TEACHING. Week 1 we began with the focus of UNDERSTANDING. You can't reach someone with whom you don't empathize, and you won't empathize until you understand. Week 2 we focused on PRAYING. God works through our prayers, and at the same time, God works in us as we pray. Prayer is essential. Week 3 we focused on SERVING. Just as Jesus modeled serving others, we are also called to serve. Every opportunity to serve is an opportunity for God to work. 1 Peter 3:13-15 Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened.” But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, Be prepared: You are thinking and praying about this often. Your testimony is on your heart and mind. Give an answer: This implies a discussion – a back and forth conversation about the Gospel, as opposed to a one-way lecture. The hope that you have: It is your hope. This is personal. It is birthed from your story. It implies a positive outlook on your faith. and implies that Hell is not likely to be a significant part of early conversations. Gentleness and respect: It implies gentleness and respect – as opposed to hammering the other person. Gentleness and respect: You treat people this way whether or not you agree with their opinions or lifestyle. Matthew 28:18-20 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”-Peter declares that each and every one of us should be prepared to give an answer to everyone. And Jesus does the same.-The call of Jesus is a call to make disciples, which includes teaching them to obey what Jesus has commanded. -The disciples took Jesus' call literally, and the church was born through their obedience and the power of the Holy Spirit. Bottom Line: Disciples make disciples.-We each are called, not just to understanding, praying and serving, but ultimately, to telling others about Jesus.-What God does in and through our obedience is totally up to Him. Simply obey and let God worry about everything else. One way to shape your story as you share:1. The 'old me' - What was the most important difference in your life before you came to Christ? 2. What God did - How is it that you came to believe? What was the most important truth of the Gospel that really clicked for you? 3. The 'new me' - How are you different? How has God restored life to you? What does that look like? Verses for further study/reflection: 1 Corinthians 3:6-8 Romans 10:10-17 Matthew 9:37-38 1 Peter 3:15 Romans 1:164 Simple Steps (Billy Graham Evangelistic Association)To share the Gospel, you can follow these 4 simple steps:1. Tell them about God's plan—peace and life. God loves you and wants you to experience the peace and life He offers. The Bible says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). He has a plan for you.2. Share our problem—separation from God. Being at peace with God is not automatic. By nature, we are all separated from Him. The Bible says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). God is holy, but we are human and don't measure up to His perfect standard. We are sinful, and “the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). 3. Talk about God's remedy—the cross. God's love bridges the gap of separation between you and Him. When Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose from the grave, He paid the penalty for your sins. The Bible says, “‘He Himself bore our sins' in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; ‘by His wounds you have been healed'” (1 Peter 2:24).4. Our response—receive Christ. You cross the bridge into God's family when you accept Christ's free gift of salvation. The Bible says, “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God” (John 1:12).To receive Christ, a person needs to do 4 things: -Admit you're a sinner. -Ask forgiveness and be willing to turn away from your sins. -Believe that Christ died for you on the cross. -Receive Christ into your heart and life. Romans 10:13 says, “Whoever calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved.”Here's a prayer you can pray to receive Christ:“ Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe you died for my sins and rose from the dead. I trust and follow you as my Lord and Savior. Guide my life and help me to do your will. In your name, amen.”
Pastor Derek discusses the issue of Lordship Salvation with Howard Condor on Revelation TV's Speaker's Corner. Is submission to Christ's Lordship necessary to receiving salvation. What is a true saving faith? Is it just believing in the Gospel? Can you receive and trust in Jesus as your Saviour without receiving and submitting to Him as your Lord? Since sin is rebellion against God, can we be saved without submitting to God? What is the repentance God requires for us to be saved?

The Burning Love and Strong Desire to Receive Christ
Lady V's Devotional Episode Matthew 11:28-30 (MSG) says: “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly.” Matthew 11:28-30 (MSG) Devotional Are you loaded down with heavy burdens that tip the scale to –MUCH too MUCH? Do you feel as if you are carrying the weight of the world? One final question—Do you know Jesus as LORD and Savior? In the book of Matthew chapter 11, Jesus makes a call to all those overburdened. He calls to those working hard to meet a goal that's unattainable by the works of one's hands. HE makes a call to those that are carrying heavy anxieties that eat away at one's peace and steals their joy. HE makes a call to those that think they can come up with a bailout plan, yet have no clue where to start. Jesus makes a call to ALL those in need of a SAVIOR. Jesus is saying; Come to Me, and I will give you rest. The message is clear in what Jesus is relaying. Stop going your own way and let ME lead you. Stop carrying the weight of confusion and let ME teach you things you do not know. The load would be much lighter, if you'd stop trying to carry a load that was never meant for you to bear. You see, we are meant to carry some things, but not EVERYTHING. The only ONE that came to bear the heavy weight of the world—is JESUS. Jesus gives REST for the Weary! Jesus came to rescue those in need of a SAVIOR. Jesus supplies what we need! He established righteousness from the Cross by becoming the SAVIOR of the world. He took away the sins of the world by paying the ransom for sin. He took away sin's chains of enslavement—guilt and shame. He took away the burden of trying to achieve perfection when HE was and IS the only PERFECT ONE! Jesus did what no one else could do which was BE the Savior of the world. This is the gospel call to whoever will come to Jesus and receive of HIM by believing—LET HIM COME! Receive Christ's gift of salvation by grace through faith in Jesus. Submit to HIS authority and learn from HIM. Build a relationship with Jesus that never ends. Through the power of grace, the grace of God, which is God's infinite love, salvation came to man. And God's saving grace was available to help in times of need for those that depend on HIM. In 2 Corinthians 12:9 (GNT), the Word of God says, “My grace is all you need, for my power is greatest when you are weak.” Beloved, don't carry those heavy burdens—come to Jesus, (WHO is the PERSON of grace). Let HIM lead you daily, TO and THROUGH the plan of God for your life. The LORD says in Jeremiah 29:11 (GNT); “I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for.” Beloved, it's time...it's time to depend on JESUS! Draw from the ONE who is the LIGHT in the midst of dark times. HE provides Rest for the Weary! Remember, God loves you and HIS grace keeps on saving through HIS Son—JESUS CHRIST! Let's pray... Heavenly Father, We come to YOU in the Name of Jesus with thanksgiving in our hearts. Father God, we thank YOU for YOUR goodness in our lives. We thank YOU that we can always depend on YOU. Father God, I lift up every believer in Christ, that our dependency will always be upon YOU. And, I pray that every heart of the believer is eagerly awaiting the return of our LORD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST! Father God, as we go about life from day to day, help us to remember that YOU made the blueprint for our lives. Help us to know that there is not a day that we should allow ourselves to begin without YOU. Instead, help us to trust in the LORD with all our heart and not lea...

In Episode 95, we discuss the act of giving out invitations to the unsaved to receive Jesus Christ as their savior. God's word is an invitation extended to all men. However, some churches have discontinued altar calls in recent years. The time spent in the service of seeking God is more than a relic of a bygone period. Even now, the altar call plays a vital purpose, albeit under a new name, such as "response time."People urged others to experience life with Jesus, and the Church flourished tremendously as a result. These invites were acted out by the early Christians as a natural manifestation of their lives. What if we, as Christians, recovered our faith's fundamentally public nature? How can we invite others to experience the life-changing power of the gospel for themselves?Tune in now and let's go bigger, better, and deeper! In Episode 94, we talk about the benefits of giving invitations to receive Christ. Whether you're a pastor or a leader of a small church group, it is important to discuss with your community about giving out invitations to receive Jesus Christ. In the gospel, it says, “There is an invitation that is given to all mankind”. We have been taught to believe that the invitation must be “forced”. Or that we must not feel a calling to just simply invite someone to gospel teachings or our gospel meetings. If we're disciples of Jesus Christ, then this is something that we need to do. We're entering into a new season of energetic power and new anointing. We've been given the Holy Spirit, so let's go out and compel them to come in. Let's invite them in and let's build God's house up.Tune in now and let's go bigger, better, and deeper!
