Welcome to today's episode. In this episode, I challenge the idea that the Bible is patriarchal. God's message in it elevates women, like Deborah, Huldah, and those Jesus honored. Mary Magdalene was the first evangelist, wrongly mislabeled. We also spotlight other prominent women in the bible. To heal religious wounds, name the lies, study the Bible, and claim your lineage. The Bible is for women's liberation. Read, lead, and own your inheritance and in the meantime, hoping to shatter the myth of a patriarchal Bible. God uplifts women and hopefully my message today will help you see that.

The enemy is in big trouble! The Lord is releasing many of His daughters from their wilderness seasons. They are exiting the wilderness with the honey of His supernatural provision dripping from their lips as they lean on their Beloved with testimonies burning like fire in their bones.  If you have such a message, then this episode is for you.   You are not alone, sister.  We are a rising army of the Lord's daughters who are no longer afraid, willing to be silent, or intimidated by the enemy's tactics.  Whoa unto those who have slandered you, falsely accused you, and manipulated you to remain silent—no more.  In this conversation, Heather Sudbrock discusses the importance of clarity in one's message, drawing from the struggles of the prophet Jeremiah. She emphasizes that a true message is birthed from divine inspiration rather than personal feelings and urges listeners to confront their fears and uncertainties. The conversation explores how to identify and articulate one's message, the challenges of sharing it, and the transformative power it holds for both the speaker and the audience. It's time to roar your message and voice and launch it from your own podcast and platforms.  00:00 The Power of Your Message 02:50 Jeremiah's Struggles and Divine Calling 05:58 The Burning Message Within 08:53 Finding Clarity in Your Message PS. Ever notice how everyone's Instagram feed and their stories are starting to look and sound exactly the same? Scrolling through social media these days, it's hard to tell businesses apart - same poses, same filters, same carefully curated perfection.   Why does authenticity in business matter now more than ever? Because we've forgotten something vital - our own stories are what truly connect us with others. It's not about being perfect or copying what works for someone else. It's about being real.   I love seeing women let go of all the "shoulds" and find their own way. Moving past the exhaustion of comparison and the pressure to fit someone else's mould. Instead, building a business that feels true to who they are.   Your journey and experiences aren't just interesting - they're exactly what makes your business unique. When you share authentically, you naturally draw in people who resonate with you. You don't need to post every day or look perfect online. Your business will thrive most when it reflects who you really are, not who you think you should be.   Your path and story might look different, and that's exactly as it should be.   ___   Other episodes I think you'll love!

This season will focus on “The Learning Leader” and/or as we refer to it here at The CLC Team, “The Expanding Leader. Every episode will primarily focus on the lifelong journey of expanding your knowledge of leadership, and I will try to give you a daily takeaway to put what you learn into action. My goal is that you learn something that you can take immediate action on, and see how powerful expanding your leadership can be.    Have you ever wondered why it's so difficult for a group of leaders to norm or be consistent? Well, it's because every leader is unique and has their own style and way of leading their team. By coming together and forming a bond in your organizations leadership team, you can begin norming better than ever before. I use the DISC assessment with every client and team I work with and have found it to be a real game-changer for the entire team. This is certainly no different when you have a group of leaders together. In order for them to work together in unison, they have to begin by knowing each other very well. That's where the DISC comes in, so I will mix the DISC behavioral styles in throughout this series. I am a DISC Certified Trainer and Consultant and have worked with behavioral styles for over 20 years. I am certified through the John Maxwell Leadership Team and have worked with hundreds of teams. But you are not a product; you are a Presence. Your work, your message, your origin story is your You. It's the message of your heart. The message that says this is me! This is what I stand for! This is how I express myself! This is how I serve for the good! What would it take to reclaim your Presence whether you have a case to win, an origin story to tell, a keynote to shape, or a vision to sell? I believe that you know what you want to say; you just need someone to listen it out of you.As a story guide that is precisely what I do. How? Using traditional storytelling techniques and methods plus 30 years of story work in law, healthcare, business, education, and public speaking I help you get to the heart of your message and the message of your heart to reveal the You in your work. I strongly believe that sharing your story transforms not only your audience, but also yourself. You and your audience discover that you're not alone and that change is possible. From the consciousness-raising circles of the women's movement in the 1970s to present-day campaigns for policy and legislative changes, our stories can make a profound difference. My guest today is Karen Keene, who is a pillar of the Orlando, Florida, community. I've known Karen since 2016 when I went through one of the women's leadership programs, Athena NextGen, that she runs. Karen recently graduated from our Thought Leader Academy, where we worked together to create her keynote so she can share her story of courage and resilience to her audiences. In this episode, Karen and I talk about: The tragic event that happened to Karen in March 2020 Finding her purpose and calling Making the decision to share her story through speaking engagements The framework we developed for her keynote Karen's experience in the VIP Day and what she learned going through the Thought Leader Academy About My Guest: Karen Keene's life was blown apart when she was nearly killed in a home invasion on March 8, 2020. But after 23 life-saving surgeries by Orlando Health's Dr. Michael Cheatham, who leads the only Level One Trauma Center in Central Florida, Karen is well on her way to recovery, and plans to work to end gun violence in the U.S. Karen's harrowing experience and the daily struggles she fought to keep moving forward thrust her into finding her true calling. Each of us experiences personal setbacks that can shatter our world and test our endurance. But these tragedies, while agonizing, can be our greatest teachers, the catalysts for transformation. Karen's professional experience spans more than 28 years as the senior marketing executive and public policy expert for international and regional law firms. She has led multi-faceted teams in client development, strategic planning, branding, external affairs, and media relations. Karen is the Founder and Chief Strategic Advisor of ATHENA Orlando Women's Leadership, Inc. She is a great listener and now shares reality-based strategies for imagining your own imperfect, fulfilling life.” – Martha Hennessey, Former New Hampshire State Senator / House of Representative   “This is the book for a mom who wants a second jet engine to embark on her own journey from thinking she will have to wait another lifetime to dream big to knowing she can take steps right now to uncover and do what she would find more fulfilling at this life stage. Melissa writes both intimately and conversationally about topics that many moms around the world can relate to (some dads too). She invites the reader into a personal and deep journey about topics that are crucially important to uncover what would make a mom truly happy to work on...even after the kids are in bed. It was an honor and a pleasure to speak with her for an interview, which she has included excerpts of in this book, too!” - Ken Honda, Japan's bestselling zen millionaire, author of Happy Money: The Japanese Art of Making Peace with Your Money Moms like us with big dreams and school-age kids: For moms like me, the pandemic was an opportunity to re-evaluate and course-correct things in our lives we weren't thrilled with. Coming out of this period, sluggish yet motivated, so many of us can use this book to help us wake up! If you're looking to refresh, reenergize, and yes, reimagine a better version of your life, this book is for you. I loved the hilarious, yet poignant stories about motherhood today and the window into the world of those who've gone for it – and did it. - Macollvie Neel, Brooklyn, NY “The words: imagination, play and fun are not the usual things we as mothers think of when wondering how to get a grip back on our career and I believe it provides a really fresh take and lots of food for thought for mothers reading it. Its tone is so energetic and fresh!” – Alejandra Molina, Coach, Miami, Florida “Melissa is a mom of three with big dreams who tells it like it is. She draws on her own experiences and the experiences of professionals she's interviewed for her podcast to reflect on the plight of the mother. How do women conform to or challenge the traditional “mom script”? If you're a mom, what can you do to break the “cultural glass ceiling” to be yourself and a great parent, all without having to force yourself into a mom mold that doesn't fit you? Melissa is like a great friend, honest and wise and funny, telling you about her life and asking you to reflect on yours. This book is a great purchase for moms in every stage of life.” – Maureen Turner Carey, Librarian, Austin, Texas “In her book, Melissa shows us that motherhood does not have to be a pause or an end to your pre-child self. With guidance from her podcast guests, she encourages us to think big, find what lights us up, think big, and move towards our goals with the steps that fit the reality of our lives as they are today. In doing so we honor and inspire our child(ren), and our own inner child.” – Katherine Dzierzynski, Museum Group Sales, Forest Hills, NY

Becky is the Founder and CEO of Weaving Influence where she works with business book authors to build their platform and grow the reach of their work. Additionally, Becky has become her own client having authored Reach: Create the Biggest Possible Audience for Your Message, Book or Cause. Our conversation begins with the difficult topic of measuring the ROI of a business book. Becky shares how that equation held her back from starting a book - until the pandemic hit.  With some extra time, she started the journey, seeking to have her book launch coincide with the ten year anniversary of her business. Launching a book and running a company that specializes in the book publishing field gave Becky aunique perspective. Becky discusses some of the methods she used to get her book into the world, including pushing for100 Amazon reviews in the first month. To accomplish this, she sent 400 physical copies of the book to friends, colleagues, and anyone who would get value from it. She explains how a physical copy with a personalized note and signature has a far higher return than simply emailing a PDF. The journey of writing the book forced some additional clarity around the content Becky has used for years. She explains how she developed the four commitments, and defined the concept of "reach" in thought leadership publishing. In addition, she shares the importance of defining various terms, and the iterations authors go through in determining title and subtitle before landing on a final version. If you're planning to write a book, have a book coming out, or are out there supporting one - this episode is trove of advice that can help you reach your widest audience! Three Key Takeaways: * Online reviews are important for new books. They provide social "proof" of your insights and help create * Your book can't be for everyone.  You'll need to focus on the people that need your book right now. * Don't view book marketing as a project with an end date. It is a life-long commitment.

7 Ways to Ensure Your Body Language is Congruent with Your Message   Not sure your message is getting across? It might be because you're sending mixed signals. By paying attention to your body language, you can be sure you're always saying exactly what you intend, both verbally or non-verbally.   Follow these quick tips to make sure your body language is congruent with your message:   Know What You're Talking About It's impossible to convey to the world anything very clearly if you're not sure what you're saying in the first place. Your body language will give away your own confusion, and more often than not leave your audience confused as to what you're trying to convey. This is why it's so important to settle in your own mind what your goals are before you even begin.   Believe What You Say If you're not buying what you're selling, then how in the world do you expect others to believe in you? This means you need to know what you're talking about, and you need to believe in the words you say. Unsure of the veracity of your message? You'll need to convince yourself if you expect your body language to sync up.   Take a Minute Body language will look forced if you're nervous, regardless of what you say. Take a deep breath. Shake out your hands or go into a restroom to regroup if you're getting overwhelmed. Once calm, continue, knowing your body language will convey this, which will be taken as confidence in your message.   Don't Oversell the Part Using large, exuberant gestures only makes your body language look insincere and like something out of a melodrama. Keep your movements natural, your gestures slow and easy.   Be Honest How can you expect your body language to say you're sincere when you're not? Be authentic in what you're talking about, and your body will reflect this.   Read the Crowd Learning some of the basics of body language will help you to adjust your own. Pay attention to the signals that someone is losing interest (crossed arms, looking away). These are examples of closed body language, and it shows that something about your message is throwing them off or making them feel anxious. It might be time to adjust what you're doing to create the incongruency.   Create Rapport Lean in while talking, keep eye contact at a comfortable level, and encourage your listener to relax into the conversation with you. Once you have rapport between you, you know your message is being listened to in the way you want it to be.   In short, if you want your message to be heard and accepted, pay attention to your body language – and theirs. A little effort will go a long way toward creating the situation you desire.
