Active in electronic music since 2011, RIUSEI has spent more than a decade exploring the edges of the dancefloor—from the Middle East to Russia, Asia, and the UAE—shaping a musical identity rooted in patience, texture, and emotional gravity. His sound exists in the space where Indie Dance and Indie Tech dissolve into something more atmospheric and meditative. In this Journey Series episode, rhythms emerge slowly, like footsteps in sand. Low frequencies pulse like distant thunder beneath the surface, while melodies drift through the mix like fragments of dreams remembered at dawn. The mix breathes. It expands and contracts. It invites the listener to move—not only outward, but inward. It arrives at a moment of growing momentum for the project. RIUSEI's upcoming EP, *The Groove*, will soon appear on Magician On Duty as the label's 117th release and its first offering of 2026 . Early support around the release has already begun to ripple through the global underground, with respected artists including Paco Osuna, Joyce Muniz, Robbie Akbal, Nick Warren, Acid Pauli, Tim Green, and Damian Lazarus engaging with the music across the DJ circuit. I love Twitter and sometimes out of the blue, someone asks for a mix, so why not. I love musical challenges. Just trying to prove to myself that I could be an opener which is what I would prefer in this genre, so I can dance the rest of the day/night away. This is also my perfect example of mixing in key before there were even programs designed for DJs. This week we have the pleasure of welcoming AKIVA to the roster, giving us a sultry selection of deep-end sounds, enjoy! -- Follow @akiva_official www.instagram.com/akiva.wav -- "The artist formerly known as The Kid Inside, AKIVA is a melodic house and techno producer/DJ/live act based in Los Angeles producing and curating music inspired by the progressive house scene of the early 2000s. Topping Beatport charts with music on U.K. underground labels Deepdowndirty and Gibbon Records and the progressive U.K. powerhouse, Pro B Tech Records. Resident on Saturo Sounds with a monthly radio and podcast series, and Identity Presents - the premier LA-based event curator, hosting and playing with Modus, Galestian, Cid Inc, Miyagi, and Dave Seaman. 2021 saw Akiva assume the role of A&R for the Saturo Sounds label imprint, releasing the "Sounds of Saturo, Vol. 2" compilation. Charting at #7 in the Melodic House and Techno, #4 in both Progressive and Organic House, #1 in Breaks, and number #4 Overall charts. Closing out the year with the #1 Progressive House release thereafter. Akiva started his journey through music with Jaco Pastorius. The rhythmically diverse and bass-driven fusion style, presented to him by his father and uncle's jazz records, prompted his purchase of an Ibanez bass guitar. Along with jazz, he developed a love of smooth tenor and alto saxophones and string sounds of the violin and viola through his love of classical music. While he was jamming out to heavy metal and classic rock in high school, Akiva discovered electronic music on NYC's KTU station. Akiva immediately started playing progressive and goa-psytrance songs with his friends at parties. House and techno music were still considered underground at that time. As the scene grew, both in NYC and abroad, he spent waking hours adding to his music collection and refining his production skills. CASTxOFF Podcast 21: Malawa (@malawadj)Malawa grew up in Ensenada, Baja California, a very creative and entertaining boy. In 2004 influenced by electronic music he began to attend large electronic festivals, listening to different styles and genres. Today Malawa has created its own style, structured by the Minimal House / Deep House. He joined Symbiotik Collective in the Mexican southeast, promoter and collective of Dj's, which has presented national talents such as Métrika, Robbie Akbal, Balcazar & Sordo, Métrika, Ramiro Puente, Bastard Love to mention a few. In 2015 he returned to his hometown, forming part of the Dj's / Residents team at the Social Miscelanea Nocturna bar. He has shared the stage with numerous national talents, such as Pinto, Miguel Puente, Gabriel Sordo, Climbers, Evan Espinoza, Louie Fresco, 4004, Balcazar, Métrika, The Cool Cats, Dwight Evan, Bjerk Peterson, among others, and with numerous local and regional talents. In mid-2020, he joins the crew of dj's from Triangle Radio Show, a radio station from Mexicali, Baja California, Mx, that has been in charge of spreading and promoting the underground electronic scene in Northwest Mexico. He has shared and broadcast his sets on different national and international electronic music platforms, as well as on regional, national and international radio stations. His sets range from an exquisite warm up to a fine, energetic, dancing sound.
