Some cigars are just, well, rare. They're event exclusives or their limited edition or something along those lines. Well, today's cigar, the Drew Estate Liga Privada Unico Serie A is a cigar so rare, I'm sure if you've ever even heard of it, it's been through pictures on your Instagram feed.01:28 - Liga Privada T52 Review: https://www.cigarscore.com/cigar-review-liga-privada-t52-corona-doble/09:16 - Fratello The Texan Review: https://www.cigarscore.com/cigar-review-fratello-the-texan/Info Page on DE Website: https://drewestate.com/?portfolio=liga-privada-unico-serie-cigarsBefore even cutting or lighting the cigar, the Unico Serie A smelled pretty good. This stick is several years old, and that time spent aging appears to be paying off. After snipping the end of the long cigar, the cold draw offered up flavors like Betty Crocker boxed brownies.Brand: Drew EstateLine: Liga Privada Unico Serie ASize: 9 x 47Cut: GuillotineLight: TorchPrice: UnknownWrapper: United States Connecticut River Valley Stalk Cut & Cured Sun Grown HabanoBinder: Brazilian Mata FinaFiller: Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, Honduras (modified T52 blend)Smoke Time: 105 minutesSave 15% on Liga - https://click.cigarscore.com/fs-ligaprivadaCigarScore Merch!: https://click.cigarscore.com/merchytUse coupon code CIGARSCORETV to get 15% OFF!Final Thoughts:If you like other cigars in the Liga Privada line from Drew Estate, you're going to like the Drew Estate Liga Privada Unico Serie A. The flavors are good, the burn was almost perfect, and the draw was great considering the length and ring gauge of the stick.Initially, the Liga Privada and Liga Undercrown lines of cigars were only for the employees of Drew Estate. However, they took a risk and offered them up for sale. The lines were so successful that they went into production. I can see why. The Unico Serie A is a great stick.Although I couldn't find an exact or current price for this cigar, everything else about it led to a great experience. For these reasons, the Drew Estate Liga Privada Unico Serie A earns a CigarScore 5.#CigarScoreTV :::::Find & Rate Where to Smoke Cigars at https://www.cigarscore.comCIGAR DEALS::::::Cigar 5-Packs: https://jo.my/mlunpiCigar 10-Packs: https://jo.my/8kfajfCigar Samplers: https://jo.my/oady8qBoveda Packs: https://jo.my/fbtwzr:::::Get CigarScore Emails - https://www.cigarscore.com/subscribe::::: SOCIAL MEDIA LINKS: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/cigarscoreTwitter: https://www.twitter.com/cigarscoreInstagram: https://Instagram.com/cigarscore::::: AFFILIATE DISCLAIMER: Hey, so, some of the links in my videos and descriptions are affiliate links. Denny has some strong thoughts on this one haha. A lady gets "Titty Bombed" and makes a really big deal about it including calling the cops. Craig Schneider, published author of cigar topics, co-hosts with Dale and Bob this week. Mario Fanego tells why he joined Cigar Rights of America and discusses his grandfather's passion for rolling cigars. Chris Cannon, who earlier asked Bob and Dale how they would spend $50 to obtain a variety of cigar flavors, gives an update to his progress. Listener Loren Molders reviews the new La Casita Criolla. The August winner of a Palio cutter is Gregory Dunn from Massachusettes. Congratulations Gregory! Starting in October, we will be revising the Palio contest so start thinking now. We will be looking for photos of you and your friends enjoying cigars with every entry. The featured 'Cigar of the Week' is the Master by Carlos Torano. The 'What's My Band?' cigar is the La Aurora Cameroon Double Corona suggested by Dan Crouch. Check out the live show! Go to http://www.cigarmedia.tv/live/ where the show is broadcast live most Friday evenings at 9 PM EST. Cigar of the Week - Master by Carlos Torano From the Carlos Torano web site: A perfect collaboration creates a new premium Cigar. Charlie Toraño, at the helm of a fourth generation family cigar company, and Felipe Sosa, one of the world's finest master cigar rollers, invite you to enjoy this unique blend. Determining the final blend for Master was a long and experimental journey. With two passionate tobacco experts working side by side, only the very best blend would suffice and ultimately be worthy of the name "Master". Wrapper: Habano from Ecuador Binder: Esteli, Nicaragua Filler: Esteli & Jalapa, Nicaragua What else have you been smokin' Dale? Liga Privada L40 - 7 x 40 Lancero - Finally, the LP blend in a Lancero size! Although admittedly tweaked for this format (from 38 ring to 40 ring to add an extra leaf), the LP blend of Nicaraguan and Honduran tobaccos is bound by a Brazilian Mata Fina leaf and a Connecticut Sun Grown Habano wrapper. Pre-light aroma is very barnyard/earthy with deep rich scents not unlike opening a tin of English pipe tobacco. From the start this cigar provides blasts of spice over a woody, leathery core. Also touches of coffee and dark fruit. Not perfectly balanced in the first ½” or so, but smooths out and balances the spice with the other flavors the rest of the way. Full bodied, full flavored and leaning towards the strong side, yet never gets harsh or bitter. This format now beats the T52 as my favorite Liga Privada - more refined and complex with a tad less strength. La Carrida del Cobre Jabalina - 7.25 x 38 Lancero One of the “Vitolas Especiales” our friend Frank Herrera has added to his line, this lancero has a closed foot and head, both with a sharply pointed end, thus the Jabalina (Javalin) moniker. The fillers are Dominican and Nicaraguan, the binder is of the Criollo ‘98 variety and the wrapper is a Pennsylvania Broadleaf maduro. The sample I smoked last Sunday at the 2nd Annual Rocky Mountain Cigar Fest was entirely hand bunched w/o the benefit of a mold and exhibited perfect construction! Molds for regular production will be delivered soon and these will be available this fall. Very smooth and med-full bodied with medium strength. The flavors are savory and complex. Another outstanding LCDC cigar in a fantastic format! My Father El Hijo San Lotano Oval - 6 x 54 Toro Nicaraguan & Honduran fillers, a Nicaragua binder and a 4 yr aged Habano 2000 wrapper in a unique oval shape. Outstanding construction exhibited by a slow, cool burn that lasted over 2.5 hours! Tremendous flavors of well aged tobacco - cedar, caramel, almonds, espresso, black tea and balanced with red wine tannins. A superior cigar. What else have you been smokin' Bob? Le Bijou 1922 Petite Robusto - The petite robusto is a an exciting new size from My Father Cigars. It is a perfect way to enjoy this flavorful Le Bijou and I believe, makes it the best of the Le Bijou line and maybe the best in the My Father line as well. The cigar starts with just a hint of spice, cedar and sweetness and then transitions in to a leather and floral experience with just enough body to make you sit up and take notice. The cigar ends with a little spice again and a fond farewell to the floral leather. A 4.5 x 50 Nicaraguan Puro with a Habano Oscuro wrapper. Jameson Declaration - Brad Mayo is the living embodiment of what many every day cigar smokers aspire to - an enthusiast turned brand owner. The Declaration comes out of the Dominican Republic factory of Luis Sanchez of La Tradicion Cubana fame. Declaration was created with purpose and passion to celebrate independent spirit and personal liberty. “Smoke to be Free” is the favored catch phrase of Brad and the crew at Jameson. The Declaration features an aged Habano ’98 wrapper paired with a Criollo ’98 binder and select filler tobaccos from the prime growing regions of the Dominican Republic. This is a deep, bold flavored cigar that has a wonderful room aroma, just ask Liz. That is a nice bonus when smoking around others; however, the real prize is the deep floral and mild spice that is all wrapped in a subtle sweetness. What else have you been smokin' Craig? Cohiba 1966 - I’m normally a smart cigar smoker; I swear. This time I let my lack of patience get the best of me. I received one of these as a gift last week and lit it immediately without thinking of the cigar’s condition. My experience suffered exceptionally. I tasted nothing but generic tobacco sweetness and had to endure a rather spongy & wet smoke. The one salvageable thing I’ll take from the experience is that the wrapper leaf, when smoked separately, did exhibit some enjoyable flavors. Gran Habano (GAR) Opium - This cigar was so intriguing. It reminded me of other GHs but at the same time showed some flavors RARELY found in any N/C cigars. I can’t pinpoint what it tasted like or even what other cigars it reminded me of but whatever it was, I liked it. Look for these cigars and decide if they’re for you. I have a feeling this line might be a real sleeper among the consuming public. Look for more people to erupt about it’s terrific flavors as it becomes more widely available. What's My Band? - Unbanded #978, the La Aurora Cameroon Double Corona suggested by Dan Crouch. Bob: Pre light aroma, sweet spice, hay/grassy flavor slightly, mild cocoa and cedar flavors are very smooth and tastefuly done. Smoked with a blackberry port that really overwhelmed the cigar with its sweetness. Very cedar on the retrohale and a slightly sharp acidity. Craig: A lot of sweet spice on the start. Reminiscent of the Tatuaje Boris. The flavors left almost immediately and continued with tobacco & pepper. Nice full strength and medium body. 2nd third was very jalapa-esque. Transitioned to a more milder character & medium body. Continuing sweetness & slight coffee character. Decent cigar. If not for the Jalapa characteristics I’d enjoy it more. Palio Cutter Contest: The August winner of a classic black Palio cutter is Gregory Dunn from Massachusettes. will be announced next week. Enter the September contest now. Remember, you must re-enter each month to be eligible to win the featured Palio cutter. Starting in October, we will be revising the Palio contest so start thinking now. We will be looking for photos of you and your friends enjoying cigars with every entry. More information coming soon. Do you have a suggestion for the unbanded cigar of the week? Every week Bob and Dale include an “unbanded cigar” segment in their show in which they smoke a cigar without any markings and give their honest opinions. Bob then opens a sealed envelope and discovers the cigar’s name and manufacturer. If you have suggestions for the "What's My Band?" segment, please send them to liz@cigarmedia.tv.
