One of the most common themes I hear from people who want to write is, "Where do I start?" So many people have the desire, even the calling, to write ... yet they don't know where to begin. Rather than do a straight-up teaching episode on this topic, or having a single guest, I thought it would be fun to do a round-table discussion with a few of my writer friends to give different perspectives on getting started. This was so much fun that I've decided to do a monthly round-table format on different topics. I'm thrilled that three good friends have been able to join me for this conversation: Eric Elder is an online pastor, author, pianist, and music producer. Mary Felkins is a novelist who released her first book last year, and Ashley Rescot is a violinist, music teacher, and short story author. Of course each of these friends is much more, but that gives you a little context for what each of them brings to the table. In this conversation, we tackle some topics such as: What would you say to someone who believes they're not a good writer? How and where do get started? What was a failure you have experienced as a writer, and what did you learn from it? How do you stay on track with your writing? Carly and I have got to talk to some incredible people and artists through this podcast and today is another notch in that gunstock. While this guest isn’t necessarily tied to music, he is a Texas artist in his own right.  Actor Barry Corbin has had an impressive career spanning decades.  One of his most recent roles that our audience would be familiar with is as Dale; a cranky, hard of hearing veterinarian on Netflix’s The Ranch.  He’s also appeared in Better Call Saul, Northern Exposure, and several movies on the big screen including Urban Cowboy, No Country For Old Men, and a long list of others. However, my favorite role of Barry’s thus far was that of his portrayal of Roscoe Brown; July Johnson’s hapless deputy in the Larry McMurtry classic, Lonesome Dove. During the interview we were also excited to find out that Barry will have an upcoming role in one of the most popular American Television Series running today in Yellowstone. 10 Years of the CrossFit Games and it feels like we are just getting started.  In the spirit of that the athletes were taken back to the place where this all began and the first day of competition was held at "The Ranch" in Aromas, California.  What transpired over the next 5 days is arguably one of the most extensive and full tests of Fitness to date to determine who was going to be crowned the  "Fittest on Earth" in 2016.

The CrossFit Games are going online... again.  The Games just announced that only 5 men and women will make the trip to Aromas California to compete LIVE on The Ranch.  They will do an online qualifier to cut down from 30 athletes. How can do this in the most fair way for all athletes around the world? We have the answer. Additionally, the "Teen and Masters International Championship" just concluded and WE did the programming for it. We are analyzing our OWN programming to see if we are as good as what we talk about or not.
