The boys are back with the recap to UFC:Austin. Dana White does it every week, always topping the past card. We got 8 KOs & 6 in the 1st round for an electrifying fight night. Once again we didn't see the Cowboy vs Lauzon retirement fight and maybe its time to hang that one up. We instead got Kevin Holland vs Tim Means for the Co-Main event which saw Holland easily win as he continues to climb the welterweight division. In our main event we saw Josh Emmett win a very controversial Split decision which we had to talk about because it may be the worst decision YET. Outside of the fightcard we talk about Nate Diaz wanting to leave his contract to go fight Jake Paul.

Jim and Matt talk with Adrian Yanez, recap UFC Fight Night: Kattar vs Emmett, and unbox a surprise from Panini cards on today's episode of UFC Unfiltered!   Jim and Matt kick off the show discussing some of their favorite moments from UFC Fight Night: Kattar vs Emmett, including Kevin Holland's submission win against Tim Means in the co-main event, and the back-and-forth between Phil Hawes and Daniel Cormier after Hawes' TKO victory over Deron Winn.  Then, Adrian Yanez joins the show after his first-round TKO win over Tony Kelley in Texas over the weekend. He hints at how much money Gilbert Burns sent him for knocking out Kelley, reveals what Kelley said to him immediately following the stoppage, and explains why he was grateful for the opportunity to train in Long Island with Aljamain Sterling, Merab Dvalishvili, and the rest of the Serra-Longo Fight Team.  After that, Jason Howarth joins the show on behalf of Panini America to help Jim and Matt unbox their very own Panini cards...featuring Jim and Matt!  Finally, Jim and Matt close the show by discussing the rest of Saturday night's card, including the decision win for Josh Emmett over Calvin Kattar in the main event, and Joaquin Buckley's TKO victory over Albert Duraev.  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Following Josh Emmett's split decision win over Calvin Kattar in the main event of UFC Austin, it seemed pretty clear that calling a close fight such as that “a robbery” would be highly egregious. However, after looking at the judges' scorecards more in-depth, maybe there is a case to be made. MMA Fighting's Mike Heck, Jose Youngs, and Alexander K. Lee gave their thoughts on the headline of the UFC's return to Texas — and judge Chris Lee's debated fourth-round scoring — and where Emmett goes from the biggest win of his career, Kevin Holland's sensational performance against Tim Means, Adrian Yanez's potential breakout moment, the late scratch of Donald Cerrone vs. Joe Lauzon, Joaquin Buckley's ceiling at 185 after his career best performance, and more. We have the pound-for-pound nicest fighter on the UFC roster, plus one of the most-hyped Flyweight contenders in the UFC, on today's episode of UFC Unfiltered! First, Jim and Matt talk to friend of the show Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson ahead of his co-main event bout against Gilbert Burns at UFC 264 on July 10. After he finds a quiet spot to talk while at a water park with his karate academy students, he shares why he's surprised Burns agreed to fight him, weighs the pros and cons of throwing karate chops in the Octagon, and reminisces about what it was like to grow up in his father's first karate studio.  Then, Casey O'Neill calls in after her submission win against Lara Procopio. She tells stories about wearing Phil Baroni's robe while watching UFC fights with her father growing up, reveals what prize her BJJ coach will give her if she pulls off a Twister submisson in the Octagon, and offers her take on whether or not young Flyweight contenders should face off against each other or be paired up with the veterans of the division.  Finally, Jim and Matt recap their favorite moments from UFC Fight Night: Gane vs Volkov, including Ciryl Gane's dominant win over Alexander Volkov, Tanner Boser's knockout against Ovince Saint Preux, and Tim Means' gritty victory against Nicolas Dalby.  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Bloody Elbow fight experts, Zane Simon & Dayne Fox, are here tonight – Sat, June 26th, to breakdown the UFC VEGAS 30: Ciryl Gane vs Alexander Volkov Fight Night event, which was broadcast from the UFC APEX Center in Las Vegas, NV. The guys will have hot takes, possible next fights, as well as reactions to the overall event. Returning to the down-sized APEX octagon for the main event, we had a Heavyweight tilt between the #3 ranked, former TKO Heavyweight Champion, Ciryl ‘Bon Gamin' Gane, with an impressive undefeated 8-0 record for an up-and-comer, including defeats against Rozenstruik, JDS and Boser; and his opponent tonight being the #5 ranked, former M-1 Global & Bellator MMA Champion, The Russian contender Alexander ‘Drago' Volkov; who was coming off victories over Overeem and Walt Harris, both in the second round. Gane was the slight favorite going into this bout, with a lot of believers thinking he is on his way to title contention. In the co-main event, we had a Light Heavyweight contest featuring, ‘OSP' – Ovince St. Preux, aka: ‘Von Preux choke' specialist, an unorthodox fighter, who was coming at this bout off a loss to Jamahal Hill last December. His opponent in this bout was Tanner ‘The Bulldozer' Boser; the Canadian brawler had a decent 19-8 record, but was coming into the octagon tonight off of two losses to Ilir Latifi and Andrei Arlovski since last winter. Also on the card, Timur ‘Lucky' Valiev won a hard fought battle to the decision against Raoni Barcelos, making him having won three contests in three weight classes. We also had an exciting Featherweight clash when Andre ‘Touchy' Fili went up against Daniel ‘The Pit' Pineda, in a brawl that ended when Fili accidentally let his hand slip off the chest of Pineda resulting in an accidental eye poke so severe it ended the bout in a NO CONTEST, which was a shame because Fili was en route to likely winning that bout later in the second round. Prior to that, we had exciting matchups between Tim Means and Nicolas Dalby and Renato Moicano vs. Jai Herbert. Overall, this 13-bout card saw 3 1st Rd finishes, 5 KO/TKO's – 1 stoppage, 2 subs, & 6 decisions - 1 of those being Split. Rounding things out, bonuses for putting forth POTN efforts went to Matt Brown & Seungwoo Choi; FOTN honors went to Vera vs. Grant.
