On the Scars and Guitars new music show for June 2024, we kick things off with Bruce Dickinson's "Resurrection Men" from The Mandrake Project and then move into Apocalyptica's rendition of "The Call Of Ktulu," featuring Cliff Burton from their album Apocalyptica Plays Metallica, Vol. 2. Ghost brings us "The Future is a Foreign Land" from the soundtrack RITE HERE RITE NOW: ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK, followed by Simone Simons with "In Love We Rust" from Vermillion. Michael Schenker's "Mother Mary," featuring Slash and Erik Grönwall, from My Years With UFO, provides a hard-hitting edge, while Cavalera's "From the Past Comes the Storms" from Schizophrenia takes us deeper into the realm of classic extreme metal. Skid Row's live performance of "Slave To The Grind" from Live In London and White Stones' "La Ira" from Memoria Viva, led by Opeth's Martín Méndez, continue to elevate the energy. Zeal & Ardor's "Fend You Off" from GREIF and Korpiklaani's "Harhainen Höyhen" from RANKARUMPU showcase unique and powerful sounds. Athena XIX reunites with front-man Fabio Lione for "The Conscience Of Everything," The Eternal delivers "Deathlike Silence" from Skinwalker, featuring Amorphis members Jan Rechberger and Niclas Etelävuori. We then feature tracks like 96 Bitter Beings' "Tripled Manic State" from "Return to Hellview" and Arka'n Asrafokor's "Walk With Us" from Dzikkuh, blending intense metal with African traditions. Higher Power collaborates with Never Ending Game on "Stillpoint," while Shun presents "Drawing Names" from Dismantle. Qaalm's "First Light of the Last Dawn" from their EP of the same name and another live track from Bruce Dickinson, "Afterglow Of Ragnarok," continue to diversify the playlist. Curse Upon A Prayer's "Black Venus Erotica" from The Worship: Orthoprax Satanism and Eternal Drak's "Haunting Place" from Imprisoned Souls add a darker tone. Nighthämmer's "Land Of Fear," Paradise In Flames' "I Feel The Plague" from Blindness, and Maudissez's "Fracture Par Fracture" maintain the intense atmosphere. Hässlig's "Apex Predator", Ancient Entities' "Pierced by Obsidian" from Echoes of Annihilation, and Bleed From Within's single "Hands of Sin" keep the momentum going. We also have Cabal's "Sort Sommer" featuring FABRÄK, Crypt Crawler's "The Immortal Realm," and Fleshgod Apocalypse's "Bloodclock" from Opera. Obscene's "The Reaper's Blessing" from Agony & Wounds, Octoploid's "Human Amoral" from Beyond The Aeons, and The Black Dahlia Murder's "Aftermath" from Servitude provide more brutal sounds. Morgue Meat's "Lesser Key Of Solomon" from Apocalyptic Visions, Traumatomy's "Womb Of The Desecrated" from Triumph of Enslavement, and Clan dos Mortos Cicatriz's "Flores cortadas, machado na pele" from Débil continue to push the envelope. Nails' "Imposing Will" from Every Bridge Burning, "Cavalera's "Nightmares Of Delirium" from "Schizophrenia," and from Saudi Arabia, Dune bring "Insidious" adding international flair. We wrap up with Exodus' live track "Piranha" from British Disaster: The Battle of '89, Blind Guardian's revisited "The Quest For Tanelorn," Orden Ogan's "The Order Of Fear," Chris Slade's "Back With A Vengeance" from Timescape, and another live performance by Bruce Dickinson with "Abduction" from The Mandrake Project. In Today's Uncertainty, We Need to Remember that God Wants to Walk with Us In All Our Life Situations, Both Good and Bad – Just Ask Him MESSAGE SUMMARY: “Lord is my helper and confident, why should I be afraid? What can man do to me?” For this confidence, you must know who Jesus is – both in your heart and in your mind. Jesus is the Son of God – God in the flesh. As Paul tells us in Philippians 4:4: “do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.". Therefore, You do not need to worry about troubling circumstances in your life because you know that He is with you; and He will guide you no matter how dark your life seems. Jesus is the light that shines in darkness.  As Jesus tells you in Luke 12:4-5, that when you have anxiety and fear in your life, you must determine if this anxiety derivative of the right kind of fear: “I tell you, my friends, do not fear those who kill the body, and after that have nothing more that they can do. But I will warn you whom to fear: fear him who, after he has killed, has authority to cast into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him!”. When you are faced with life's tragedies and the anxieties that result from just living your life, Jesus can turn those situations and your fears into ways and results that you cannot fathom, understand, or anticipate; but you can certainly appreciate. Why not give God a chance to walk with you in all your life situations -- good and bad? Ultimately, the Psalmist got it right in Psalm 23:4: “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.".   TODAY'S PRAYER: Lord, everything in me resists following you into the garden of Gethsemane to fall on my face to the ground before you. Grant me the courage to follow you all the way to the cross, whatever that might mean for my life. And then, by your grace, lead me to resurrection life and power. In Jesus' name, amen.   Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 100). Zondervan. Kindle Edition. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that because I am in Jesus Christ, I will seek God's perspective on my situation. For I know that in all things God  works together for good to those of us who love Him and are called according to His purpose. Thanks for joining us today! This week, Pastor Jason kicked off our Advent sermon series, The Reason. This week's message reveals that while we may experience God's presence on the mountain, it is in the valleys of life that we truly come to know Him, finding strength, rest, and peace by relying on the Lord.We also got to celebrate NINE baptisms, with each person sharing their story for God's glory! Go today in the grace and peace of Jesus Christ. We hope to see you next week!

We are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.” — 2 Corinthians 6:16 Ms. Betty, 86, shuffles with her walker to the front of the sanctuary. She drops to her knees while singing the words of a spiritual: “Walk with me, Lord! Walk with me. While I'm on this tedious journey, I want Jesus to walk with me.” Thirteen years ago Ms. Betty's granddaughter Sabrina died in a car accident, leaving three young sons behind. Ms. Betty took in all three great-grandsons. After church one Sunday, one of those grandsons, Andre Taylor, was shot and killed. Roseland Christian Ministries has been her refuge—she comes here four to five times a week. She's at worship and Sunday school on Sunday, prayer meeting on Tuesday, hospitality committee on Wednesday, and stops in at other times too. Some days she needs prayer; some days she needs groceries. Most of all, like the rest of us, she needs assurance that God is with her—that Jesus is still walking with her. Whether we are aware of it, feel it, acknowledge it, or not—we worship the God who, in Jesus and by his Spirit, walks with us. God is with you. Christ is present with you on your journey today and every day. Walk with us, Lord. While we are on this journey, please continue to walk with us, be our guide, and hold our hand. Amen.

TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that because I am in Jesus Christ, I will entrust to Him my future. I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him for that day.  (From 2 Timothy 1:12). SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Philippians 4:4-9; Mathew 6:25-34; Psalm 23:1-6; Psalms 22b:17-31. A WORD FROM THE LORD WEBSITE: www.AWFTL.org. As Jose says in this interview, you start as "one" on the Camino but you end up with "one + a thousand".  Come walk with us as Jose gives us an update on the Camino from his viewpoint in Pamplona and from his recent walks on the path. For Jose, it's all about connection with fellow Pilgrims and providing ways to showcase the Pilgrims that walk the Camino. You'll hear some great stories about his own pilgrimages and what led him to create El Camino People.  It's evolving all the time and now offers Camino guidance and coaching, a non-profit that helps the infrastructure on the Camino, a wonderful podcast in English and in Spanish, and much more! I always love chatting with Jose and seeing all the great ideas he's putting into action to pay it forward so the other Pilgrims get to experience the Camino. I hope you enjoy our conversation. Please give us a thumbs up, comments, and share. As I Live and Grieve

SummaryIt's time for grief to come out of the basement, or wherever we have stuffed it to avoid talking about it. Grief is painful. We have walked that journey and are familiar with the thoughts and feelings that are consuming you. We were offered no choice in this matter and it is ours with which to cope. Now, let us walk with you. You need these words. Show Notes:In this episode we introduce ourselves, Kathy and Stephanie, to you. We are mother and daughter and have managed to move through more than one grief experience in our lives so far. We are blessed to have each other to lean on, vent to, cry with (though we usually hide ourselves when we cry) and move forward. But it isn't over. We don't think it ever ends, because love is profound. Yet we continue to live and grieve.  www.asiliveandgrieve.cominfo@asiliveandgrieve.com Credits:Music by Kevin MacLeod
