Alexander Zakharin is an established realtor based in NYC and has worked with me (Coach Alli) for over two years. From running the streets in his hometown in Russia as a kid to taking his talents to the marathon and distance running world, Alex has set his eyes on a sub-3-marathon goal and has been chipping away with new PRs in distances ranging from the mile to the marathon to get there. Recently, Alex just ran a 3-hour and 4-minute marathon at the St. Jude Memphis Marathon last December and is working on the shorter, speedier stuff before tackling the distance again later this year. Kristy Baumann is a Registered Dietitian from St. Paul, Minnesota, a 12x marathon runner, wife and mom to a 2 and 5 year old. She helps runners learn how to fuel properly to support their training and have a healthy relationship with food. For years, she thought she was fueling well as a runner. But, found herself feeling sluggish on runs, having headaches and nausea after long runs, and experienced stomach issues and muscle cramps on race day. She was focused on becoming “fat adapted”, always trying to manage her weight to run faster, and followed food rules. Food was constantly on her mind and she had a big sweet tooth. These were all signs of underfueling that resulted in recurring injuries and a poor relationship with food. It wasn't until she began to change her mindset around food, understand the science of nutrition and how the body works that she was able to learn to fuel properly, feel more energized and improve her running. Now, she is on a mission to spread the message that restricting food and following fad diets is not the answer. Having a positive relationship with food is the foundation of fueling well as a runner. I had such a fun time chatting with Kristy on the show, and I look forward to sharing the excellent advice, wisdom, and expertise discussed in this show with the world! You can follow her on IG @marathon.nutritionist.Website: https://www.marathonnutritionist.com/Don't forget to head to Apple Podcasts here to support the show and tap the "+Follow" button! Hey there, runners and fitness enthusiasts! Welcome to the fourth episode of the Ask Alli Spin-Off, where we dive deep into training and running. I'm your host, Coach Alli, and I'm here to guide you on this journey to help you reach your fitness goals.Today's episode of 'Ask Alli' takes a turn after viewing the rerun of the U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials and recapping the race, learnings, and takeaways for all of us to apply to our running training! I share my biggest takeaways and lessons for ALL of us to apply to our runs, to stay process-oriented, and to learn to love the journey, not the outcome of one race. There are some wins to celebrate! Congratulations to three women who made the Olympic Team: Fiona O'Keeffe Wins The U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials in her First-Ever Marathon, followed by Emily Sisson and Dakotah Lindwurm. And to two men, brothers, and training partners with guaranteed spots on the men's Olympic Team, too! Conner Mantz ran 2:07:48 at the 2023 Chicago Marathon, and Clayton Young tallied a time of 2:08:00 in Chicago.I am so happy and proud of all of us, of our sport. I am still hysterically crying, just feeling all the emotions and loving how well these people ran their hearts out the way they did today. Thank you to everyone behind the scenes who made today's event possible and viewable for the public. Your hard work does not go unnoticed. We all appreciate it. I can't find a word for how I feel right now because inspiration doesn't do justice.

Lindsay Scott, Registered Physiotherapist and Acupuncture Provider at The Runner's Academy, Joins Me For A Discussion on How To Help Others Find Joy In The Sport of Running. Lindsay and her team are passionate runners, triathletes, and coaches who all share a commonality of helping runners find joy in the sport while performing it properly to optimize performance, recover, and reduce any risk of injuries. Linday's adaptive coaching model speaks to her individualized approach to every athlete who walks through the door. Movement is the pinnacle of what allows us to do hard things, and Lindasy is here today to tell us a little bit more about how her role with runners at The Runner's Academy allows her to do just that. Hettas Founder Lindsay Housman Joins Me For A Chat, sharing her high-performance, technical running shoes made for women to reach their full potential in sport and beyond.Lindsay first reached out to me to share her new product and has given me, along with many female athletes I coach and some friends, the opportunity to test the groundbreaking shoe brand made for women by women! During today's episode, Lindsay shares how Hettas was created, which started when her daughters were told they were "too small" to join a competitive ski team. Lindsay worked on leveraging her connections in the industry, getting a grant, and beginning to fund research solely focused on female athletes. Hettas has a vision to create products for women tailored to our physiology, biomechanics, and even hormonal cycles. A unisex foot doesn't exist, and Hettas brings the science backing the shoe's design to the forefront and how women can benefit from the product and Hettas brand. There are three versions, the Alma Cruise, Alma Tempo, and Alma Speed, that all have the same fit same VeloPropulsion system, but with different foam firmnesses to fine-tune your shoe lineup. Coach Denise, The Marathon Whisperer, Joins Me For A Coaches Corner Chat On Getting You Prepared For The 2023 Bank of America Chicago Marathon!Today marks 14 grateful years for Coach Denise's transformation into Denise 2.0. Denise started running in 4th grade because it was the only sport she could do. She has been running ever since and has leveraged running as therapy. Shortly after running her first marathon and wanting to get faster, she was solely focused on PRs and started losing the joy of why she began to run. The accident of getting hit by a car made her reassess her goals and have an entirely new world of appreciation for movement, for running. Denise continues to influence through action and helps others run marathons and chase down crazy goals while running WITH THEM. I'm excited to share her admirable energy and wisdom on another show episode! We chat about our WHY, racing, training for Chicago, and so much more in hopes of inspiring you to chase 26.2! We're here to help you! Denise will be in the last corral in Chicago to support all of YOU first-time marathoners pursuing your first 26.2 starting and finish line.
