    I wish I was white. I wish I had the blonde hair, light skin and the blue eyes that I saw grace my screens. But I realise that this is a false narrative, one that has conditioned so many like me to believe that someone who looks like us is not worthy to ever be the hero, the heroine, the protagonist. Now, I'm beginning to see people with darker hair, darker skin and darker eyes. These people who take up space on my screens represent narratives that reflect my experiences - I hope that it continues to stay this way.
