Slam the Gavel welcomes Olga Wilson to the podcast. Olga is a mom, an immigrant and a survivor of systemic abuse within the California family court system. She came on the podcast to speak on behalf of all parents suffering through this system who have been silenced, targeted and retaliated against for doing what any decent parent would do: PROTECT THEIR CHILDREN. What Olga found, unfortunately, when she came to this country from Russia 12 years ago, she saw for herself the corruption, collusion and cruelty. In Butte County, California, Olga lost custody of her daughter without a trial, evidence and without a voice. Her interpreter was giving wrong responses and calling her an "applicant," instead of a Petitioner. There were transcription discrepancies. Despite video-recorded disclosures of abuse, reports from mandated reporters and her own efforts to seek help, Olga was mocked in open court, threatened with jail and labeled a "vexatious litigant," while legally kidnapping her daughter. The evidence has either been sealed, ignored or erased. The truth of this case had to fit a false narrative for the family court to keep the case going. How are recent DESI experimental results challenging the traditional view of dark energy as a fixed cosmological constant? Are foundational assumptions in Einstein's general relativity limiting progress in theoretical physics? And how do tensions in cosmological measurements, like the Hubble constant discrepancy, reflect deeper issues in physics? In this episode, we'll explore these fundamental questions with none other than Eric Weinstein! Eric is one of the most revered thinkers of our generation. Though not an academic physicist, he proposed a unified theory of physics in 2013, which is supposed to have the potential to explain phenomena that string theory cannot. In a lecture held live at UCSD in April 2025 at the prestigious Astrophysics and Cosmology Seminar, Eric presented an update to his groundbreaking theory. Today, we'll discuss his fascinating theory, the future of physics and academia, and much more. Eric is an investor, financial executive, and host of The Portal. He and his brother, Bret Weinstein, coined the term Intellectual Dark Web to refer to an informal group of pundits. Eric is a vocal critic of modern academic hierarchies and advocates for advances in scientific theory over an emphasis on experimental results. He proposed a new unified theory of physics in 2013 and has been an active member of the physics community since then. — Please join my mailing list here
In this episode of the PFC Podcast, Dennis and Master Sergeant Dan McGarra discuss the evolving role of females in combat and the challenges faced in medical treatment for female casualties. They explore discrepancies in medical protocols, cultural implications, and the need for gender-neutral approaches in military medicine. The conversation highlights the importance of understanding physiological differences and social dynamics that affect treatment outcomes, as well as the necessity for training that prepares medics for real-world scenarios involving female patients. Dan proposes solutions to improve medical protocols and training to ensure that all soldiers receive appropriate care, regardless of gender.TakeawaysThe percentage of females in the military is increasing, necessitating discussions on their treatment in combat.Studies show discrepancies in trauma treatment between genders, affecting outcomes for female casualties.Cultural and social factors influence how medics respond to female patients in emergencies.Training scenarios often fail to prepare medics for the realities of treating female casualties.Gender biases can lead to inappropriate prioritization in triage situations.Medical protocols need to be updated to reflect the physiological differences between genders. There is a need for gender-neutral training in military medical education.International military practices can provide insights into better treatment for female soldiers. The Sharp training program must include medical emergency protocols to protect both patients and medics.Open discussions about gender and medical treatment are essential for improving care in the military.Chapters00:00 Introduction to Female Participation in Combat02:48 Challenges in Medical Treatment for Female Casualties06:06 Discrepancies in Medical Protocols and Gender Bias09:56 Cultural and Social Implications in Medical Emergencies17:01 Learning from Global Military Practices21:12 Addressing the Sharp Training and Medical Protocols28:46 Proposed Solutions for Gender Neutral Medical TreatmentThank you to Delta Development Team for in part, sponsoring this podcast.deltadevteam.comFor more content, go to www.prolongedfieldcare.orgConsider supporting us: patreon.com/ProlongedFieldCareCollective or www.lobocoffeeco.com/product-page/prolonged-field-care

Send us a textVIDEO PODCAST HEREPOWER POINT NOTESIn this episode we talk about the difference of Christ's attitude in the Book of Mormon vs. the Doctrine & Covenants and even the Bible in relation to going to the cross. What caused Him to sweat drops of blood in the Garden? Was it fear of pain and the tribulation he was heading towards, asking if he could get out of it? Or was it something else? We look at a preponderance of evidence showing that Jesus was the very eternal God and planned from the beginning to die for us. Many of the prophets testify of this in the Book of Mormon. Are we willing to embrace its teaching at the expense of giving up our past traditions and beliefs when they conflict? In this episode of The Sophisticated Ratchet Podcast, the crew dives deep into the emotional rollercoaster of "spinning the block"—aka giving an ex another shot. The tribe keeps it raw and relatable as they share personal stories of rekindled romances, from vacation flings to unresolved heartbreaks. The squad dissects the red flags of revisiting old flames, like whether family apologies matter in reconciliation or if unresolved issues are just time bombs waiting to go off. They also spill on the subtle signs that an ex might be trying to creep back into your life—are they genuinely interested or just bored? The conversation heats up with celebrity comparisons, analyzing high-profile rekindled romances like Ben Affleck & JLo's love story versus Ashanti & Nelly's unexpected reunion. Are these fairytale endings proof that love deserves a second chance, or cautionary tales about repeating past mistakes? But it's not all about love—things get spicy when the crew debates body counts, physical attraction, and deal breakers in relationships. Plus, they get creative with business ideas inspired by relationships and wrap it all up with their signature “Ratchet Fire” game, where no topic is off-limits. Whether you're considering spinning the block with your ex or firmly leaving them in the past, this episode is packed with hilarious anecdotes, sharp insights, and thought-provoking takes that'll make you rethink love and second chances. Does medicine have dangerous side effects for women? Are the "normal" values we have set for diagnostics possibly endangering specific populations? In this episode of the FOAMfrat podcast, Tyler sits down with Dr.Alyson McGregor, emergency physician and author of Sex Matters, and Tim Redding, EMS educator and lecturer, to discuss the discrepancies in medical testing, diagnosis, and treatment between male and female patients. Dr. McGregor shares her journey of discovering gender bias in medicine, particularly how women's symptoms are often dismissed or mislabeled as psychiatric in nature. The discussion explores how male-centric research has shaped clinical guidelines, leading to underdiagnosis and undertreatment of women across a wide range of conditions—from heart attacks to strokes and even pain management.
Send us a textVIDEO PODCAST HEREPOWERPOINT HEREWe discuss a couple important discrepancies in RLDS/LDS/Restoration doctrine. We ask the question "what is our foundation"? Many different beliefs occur among current and ex LDS, RLDS, Community of Christ, and all factions of the "Restoration", but why? It comes down to foundations. What do we go to as the standard when beliefs diverge? Freemasonry, the Book of Enoch, the Inspired version or (Joseph Smith's new translation), the Doctrine and Covenants, the Book of Mormon, the Bible? How much does truth matter and what is the source of that truth? The Book of Mormon states we will be judged according to it's words and the knowledge it plainly restored about Christ's simple doctrine and gospel. How much do we value this great gift given to us in these last days? Are we willing to embrace its teaching at the expense of giving up our past traditions and beliefs when they conflict? The Trade Minister is playing down New Zealand's chances of getting an exemption to Donald Trump's 10% tariffs. The Trump administration says it's imposing the tariffs in response to our 20% tariff on US goods. Todd McClay says our average tariff on US goods is actually less than 2%, and the 20% figure appears to be based on the trade balance between our countries last year. He told Mike Hosking we may be able to correct their record, but we probably won't be able to change their minds. McClay says even if New Zealand officials can make their case to the US counterparts, the minimum base rate for tariffs remains at 10%. What do Bigfoot and credit reports have in common? They're each the subject of many myths. We don't know much about 8-foot furry creatures, but we can dispel some of the folklore about credit and credit reports. Neile Simon is here to help us do that today.Neile Simon is a Certified Credit Counselor with Christian Credit Counselors (CCC), an underwriter of Faith & Finance. If you've ever wondered whether closing a credit card boosts your score or if credit counseling hurts your credit, you're not alone. Let's dive into these common misconceptions and separate fact from fiction.Myth #1: Paying Off Debt Instantly Improves Your Credit ScoreIt's a common belief that paying down debt will immediately result in a perfect credit score. However, credit improvement takes time because credit scores are based on your payment history.Reality: Your credit report gives lenders a snapshot of how responsibly you've managed debt over time. Consistently paying bills on time is the best way to build and maintain a strong score—but it won't happen overnight.Tip: Be cautious of anyone claiming they can “fix” your credit instantly. No legitimate company can erase negative (but accurate) information from your credit history overnight.Myth #2: Credit Counseling Destroys Your Credit ScoreMany people worry that seeking credit counseling will harm their credit score.Reality: Enrolling in a credit counseling program is a neutral mark on your credit report and does not directly affect your score. Closing accounts impacts your score, so working with an accredited nonprofit organization is essential to develop a plan that keeps your credit intact. That's why Christian Credit Counselors is the only organization we recommend for credit counseling and debt management. Tip: Avoid paying for expensive credit monitoring or identity protection services. You can monitor your credit for free through reputable sources.Myth #3: Canceling Credit Cards Boosts Your ScoreMany people believe that closing old or unused credit cards is a responsible move, but it can actually hurt their credit scores.Reality: Lenders want to see two or three active credit lines. Closing credit cards reduces your available credit, which can negatively impact your score by increasing your credit utilization ratio (the percentage of available credit you're using).Tip: Keep zero-balance accounts open unless they charge an annual fee. If you must close an account, do so gradually—perhaps one every six months—to minimize the temporary impact on your score.Myth #4: Too Many Inquiries Hurt Your ScoreWhile excessive hard inquiries (when lenders check your credit for a loan or credit card application) can lower your score, not all inquiries count against you.Reality: Credit bureaus recognize rate shopping—for example, when you're comparing mortgage or auto loan rates. If you make multiple inquiries within a 45-day window, they count as one single inquiry, not multiple.Tip: Always shop around for the best loan terms without worrying about multiple hits to your credit score.Myth #5: Checking Your Own Credit Report Hurts Your ScoreMany consumers avoid checking their credit reports because they fear it will negatively impact their scores.Reality: Checking your own credit is a "soft inquiry" and does not affect your score. Only "hard inquiries" (such as applying for a loan or credit card) can impact your score.Tip: Review your credit report every 6–12 months to catch errors or fraud early. Get a free report from AnnualCreditReport.com, the only official site for free credit reports.Myth #6: Credit Scores Are Locked In for Six MonthsSome believe their credit score is only updated periodically, leading to confusion when making financial decisions.Reality: Your credit score is dynamic, meaning it updates as new information is reported—not every six months. Changes in balances, payments, and account activity can impact your score as soon as they are reported by creditors.Tip: If you're working on improving your score, be patient and consistent—your efforts will show over time.Myth #7: If I Pay My Bills on Time, I Don't Need to Check My Credit ReportIt seems logical that paying your bills on time means your credit report is in good shape. But that's not always the case.Reality: 80% of credit reports contain errors. Mistakes like incorrect account information or fraudulent activity can damage your score even if you've never missed a payment.Tip: Check your credit report at least once a year to identify errors and dispute inaccuracies before they hurt your financial standing.Myth #8: All Credit Reports Are the SameMany people assume that if they check one credit report, they've seen them all.Reality: There are three major credit bureaus—Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion—and they all calculate scores differently. Some lenders may pull from only one bureau, while others check all three.Tip: Review reports from all three bureaus to get a complete picture of your credit history and spot discrepancies.Myth #9: A Divorce Decree Automatically Removes You from Joint AccountsDivorce proceedings often divide assets and debts, but that does not automatically separate joint accounts.Reality: If you and your former spouse share a loan or credit account, both of you remain responsible for the debt—even if a court assigns the balance to one person.Tip: To protect yourself, close joint accounts or refinance loans to remove your ex-spouse's name. Simply relying on a court order won't protect your credit.Myth #10: Bad Marks Automatically Disappear After Seven YearsMany assume that negative information automatically falls off their report after seven years, but it's more complicated than that.Reality: Some items, like Chapter 7 bankruptcies, remain on your report for 10 years, while Chapter 13 bankruptcies stay for seven years. Paid-off accounts in good standing can remain for 10 years, which benefits your credit history.Tip: If you have negative marks on your report, focus on building positive credit habits to minimize their impact over time.Myth #11: I Can Pay Someone to “Fix” My CreditCredit repair companies often promise quick fixes, but many of their claims are misleading.Reality: No company can legally remove accurate negative information from your credit report. If a debt is legitimately yours, it will stay on your report until its expiration date.Tip: You can dispute errors yourself for free. Christian Credit Counselors provides free resources and sample dispute letters to help you correct inaccuracies. The Truth About Credit ReportsUnderstanding your credit report and score is essential for financial success. By debunking these myths, you can take control of your credit and make informed financial decisions.Check your credit report regularly for errorsKeep credit card accounts open to maintain a strong scoreShop around for loans without worrying about multiple inquiriesWork with trusted advisors, not credit repair scamsIf you're struggling with credit card debt, Christian Credit Counselors can help. [10:12] Employees embracing the WeWork hospitality, community culture, and work patterns typically had better experiences than those who resisted. [14:00] How smaller companies smaller office investments allows them to be more responsive than large organizations which often struggle with underutilized space. [39:10] Organizational health and connecting business objectives and work experience. [40:30] How corporate cultures can connect and align employees with purpose enabling change. [43:06] IMMEDIATE ACTION TIP: The first questions to ask at the start of any good change program: who thinks something is wrong? What do they think is wrong? And who else knows? RESOURCES Phil Kirschner on LinkedIn Phil Kirschner, Contributor – Leadership Strategy, Forbes QUOTES "Many employees are feeling gaslit when they hear leaders say, ‘It was better before,' because that doesn't resonate with them." "Trust in organizations dipped for the first time in Edelman's latest trust barometer report." “When I walk into the building, if the experience of getting in or registering a visitor or attending event is, is not a great one, at that point, I do not know or care whose problem it is. I want one place to go easily and I want a hospitality feeling in the response to that, which is really difficult for groups that are viewed as an expense.” “The companies that say place isn't the thing, then tend to come back around with much more interesting and studied uses and new designs of place, whether that's somebody's house, whether that's a coworking space, whether that's an “office” that they retain for gathering purposes, right? These are the same companies that tend to staff up on workplace experience. They staff up on customer success for tools, they staff up for gathering.”

Tom Bodrovics welcomes back long-term contrarian investor and entrepreneur Simon Mikhailovich for a discussion centered around first principles, focusing on precious metals, commodities, economics, geopolitics, trade, and monetary matters. The conversation begins with the acknowledgement of high levels of uncertainty and complexity, making accurate forecasts challenging. Mikhailovich distinguishes between speculating on precious metals versus using them as a reserve asset. For speculation, market drivers are pertinent. However, for gold as a reserve asset, its unique property as the only financial asset without a counterparty makes it inversely correlated to confidence and trust in other people's promises. The conversation touches upon the concept of the fourth turning and where we are in this cycle. Mikhailovich underscores the significance of understanding current problems before predicting future demand for gold. He also discusses how post-World War II arrangements have led to the United States' hegemonic role economically and militarily, and the start of financialization and globalization. Mikhailovich raises concerns about understated inflation and its potential impact on real economic growth or contraction. He also highlights the lack of clear guidance from Federal Reserve Chairman Jay Powell in navigating through uncertain conditions. They explore the winners and losers of the global economy, with tactical gains for Wall Street investors, technology industries, and certain countries like China. However, working people have been losing due to job outsourcing. Mikhailovich mentions China's growing power and desire for independence from the United States as potential challenges to the current economic order. The conversation delves into geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, with borders becoming less inviolable after World War One and World War Two. The Suez Canal's declining traffic and resulting increased costs serve as an example of inflationary pressures. Mikhailovich discusses the significance of gold as a financial asset and its increasing demand, particularly from China and other countries, as a response to a loss of confidence in the global financial system. He also mentions the relationship between digital currencies like Bitcoin and the US dollar, suggesting that regulatory actions could impact their independence from the dollar and the broader financial system. Lastly, Simon emphasizes understanding the complexities, considering various data points, focusing on resiliency, and looking at first principles.
