In this episode I do our very first interview with the amazing Susan Lee! Susan candidly shares her weight journey and how she started yoga, even though it was new to her and she didn’t know what to expect. Susan shares what process she went through as she began her body, mind, and soul transformation and that weight loss isn’t just about hitting a number on the scale. Every year we begin with a fresh start and I don’t know about you, but when I was struggling with overeating I would set a new weight goal at the beginning of the year, only to have it crash down after only a month or so. When we change what we think and feel, from that place we are able to change our actions especially when it comes to food. I distinctly remember the moment when I was growing up that I began to believe that my greatest value came from how well I performed and how thin I was. Reflecting on that is challenging and sad, but so very important to talk about. You also might be able to pinpoint the exact time you didn't feel worthy enough unless....fill in the blank. In this episode I chat about refocusing on what's happening within us, and using our yoga practice as a practice of self study and healing.
Fall is traditionally & literally a time to reap what we've sown from summer, give thanks for what we have, and create new intentions and preparations for the coming winter. How do you treat your body? What is the first thought you think when you think about your body? What relationship do you have with your body? Reconnection happens when we begin to notice what's going on within our bodies and what our body is even asking us for. For so long I was completely disconnected with my body and struggled with my weight for so long...one big change that helped me begin to heal was connect back to my body. In this episode I continue the discussion of what that looked like for me, how my yoga practice helped facilitate this connection, and suggestions you can take into your own practice to have a deeper connection with your body.

This two part series is all about creating space in preparation for spring! This episode is about “spring cleaning” when it comes to your mind (thoughts) and your body on and off your yoga mat. Then next week in part two I will be talking about filling the cleared space back up with things that serve you to help you continue down the path of purpose and into this beautiful spring season. Its seems as though knowing that summer is around the corner makes us remember our goals when it comes to our weight all of a sudden. There’s a TON of fat burning information out there, most of which I find can be confusing or just the same old, same old. Eat less, move more, don't do this, that and the other and you'll lose weight. Ugh. I don't know about you but it's exhausting hearing all of the things we "shouldn't" or "can't" do when it comes to our body. In this episode I put a different spin on how you can use your yoga practice and your mind to help you shift into “healthy mode’’ before the summer.
To wrap up the month of February I wanted to share with you a couple ways to be still in LOVE other than what we know of traditionally where we sit still in prayer. I will explore a couple ways stillness might look like in your yoga practice as well as how you can take some of these practices off your mat into your prayer and meditation time. I also can’t wait to share with you a few supported poses that you can do anywhere no matter what level yogi you are.

The first time i heard of pressing into my yoga edges was in yoga teacher training at White Lotus located in the hills of Santa Barbara. I was fascinated by this topic because I had been trained as a little girl to basically not have any boundaries, much less know what they are and what they would look like in my life much less yoga. So in this episode I talk about what "surfing your edges" from Ganga White's book and how we can incorporate this concept into our yoga practice as well as taking it off of our mats and into our spiritual journey.

WELCOME to our first Ball Yoga podcast!!! I am so very excited you're here. Woooohooooo!!!! First, I want to ask you a question. Are you T.I.R.E.D of being on a diet, of hating your body and what you look like? Well, if you are then you're in the right place...AND....I know EXACTLY how you feel because I was there 9 years ago. In this first episode, I felt it was extremely important to share with you exactly how I arrived to my yoga practice, all of the crazy things I did to my body which was mainly beating it into skinny (or not really skinny...let's just say beating it), and then exactly how the Lord guided me to a place of healing when it came to how I looked, what I ate, and accepting myself for exactly how He made me. I wrap things up with sharing with you how I have been able to maintain my permeant, ideal body weight as well as some of my BIGGEST SECRETS I teach all of my weight loss clients so that you can use them too.
