Pastor, Author, Family Man and General Contractor, Scott Holloway joins us today to talk about Striving for the Masteries: Fulfulling Your Purpose and Potential through the Passionate Pursuit of Jesus Christ. Scott vulnerably shares a story about his wife crying because she thought her new husband couldn't provide enough money for them AND that he would never be able to provide a decent income. From this day, Scott worked on developing himself so that he could become the man God intended him to be. The Biblical phrase "Striving for tthe Masteries" speaks of the athlete's pursuit of excellence, and is applied in the Bible to our running the race of life as we pursue the moral and personal excellence of Christlikeness. Ever feel like life's challenges are turning up the heat on you? In this episode of Her Faith at Work, we're diving into how God uses trials to refine and prepare us for His unique purpose—just like a blade forged in fire. Inspired by the hit TV show Forged in Fire, we explore the parallels between the forging process and how God sharpens, strengthens, and shapes us. Through relatable stories, practical insights, and biblical truths, we unpack what it means to trust God during the “heat” and embrace the masterpiece He's creating in us. Plus, we tackle why surrounding yourself with the right people—mentors, Christian businesswomen, and supportive peers—is essential for staying sharp and growing in your calling. WHAT YOU'LL LEARN IN THIS EPISODE: The five-step forging process and how it mirrors God's work in our lives. Why trials and challenges aren't meant to break you but to refine you (1 Peter 1:6-7, Hebrews 12:10-11). Real-life examples of people in the Bible (and maybe even your life) who've been forged by fire. How to build your “forge community” and why accountability, encouragement, and wisdom from others are non-negotiable for growth (Proverbs 27:17). Practical steps to embrace God's refining process and thrive in your calling. KEY VERSES IN THIS EPISODE: 1 Peter 1:6-7: "Though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials, these have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold—may result in praise, glory, and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed." Ecclesiastes 4:9-10: "Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor. If either of them falls down, one can help the other up." Proverbs 27:17: "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." ACTION STEPS THIS WEEK: Reflect on where you are in the forging process: Are you in the heat, under the hammer, or being polished? Pray for God's guidance and patience during your refining season. Take one step toward finding or strengthening your Christian business community—reach out to a mentor, join a group, or schedule coffee with a fellow entrepreneur. DON'T FACE THE FIRE ALONE! God didn't create you to walk through the fire in isolation. Surround yourself with people who sharpen you, encourage you, and push you toward your purpose. If this episode encouraged you, share it with a friend who might be in their own refining season. And don't forget to leave a review or connect with me on social media—I'd love to hear how God is working in your life! In today's episode of Her Faith at Work, we're diving into a powerful topic that impacts every part of our lives—growth. Personal and professional development might sound like buzzwords, but they're essential for living a full, purposeful life as Christian women in business. Together, we'll explore what personal and professional development actually mean, why they're so important, and how to start growing in ways that align with our faith. If you've been feeling stuck, struggling with self-doubt, or wondering how to balance ambition with faith, this episode is your guide to intentional growth. TAKEAWAYS: 1. Growth is a Journey, Not a Destination – Small steps add up. Real growth happens gradually and consistently, so don't pressure yourself for a massive transformation overnight. 2. Ambition and Faith Can Coexist – Being driven isn't a bad thing; it's about aligning that drive with God's purpose for us. Healthy ambition is fueled by faith and a desire to serve others with excellence. 3. Accountability is Key – Growth thrives in community. Find people who support and challenge you, whether it's a mentor or a group that encourages spiritual and professional development. CHALLENGE FOR THE WEEK: Pick one personal and one professional goal for this month. It doesn't have to be huge; maybe it's something small, like setting aside a few minutes daily for prayer or reading, or reaching out to a potential mentor. Just one small step in each area. Commit to these goals and watch how these small steps can transform your perspective. NON+PROFIT PARTNER OF THE MONTH: Are you ready to step into this movement? Head over to Bell and Sparrows' website (https://belleandsparrows.org) to see how you can jump in—whether it's with your time, resources, or prayers. In this episode of Her Faith at Work, I sit down with copywriting expert Heather Crouch to dig into the art of persuasive writing, how to craft compelling content, and how we can use AI as a helpful tool without losing our authentic voice. Heather shares her journey from sales copywriting to full-time freelance work and talks about why knowing your audience is the key to writing copy that converts. GUEST BIO: Heather Crouch is a freelance copywriter with a passion for helping businesses create persuasive and intentional messaging. With over a year of official copywriting experience—and many more years crafting persuasive sales copy—Heather's goal is to help businesses, especially those with Christian values, connect with their audience in a meaningful way. She specializes in digital copy for websites, emails, social media and more. KEY POINTS: Copywriting vs. Content Creation: Heather breaks down the difference between content (meant to educate or inspire) and copy (designed to drive action with a clear call to action). The Power of Knowing Your Audience: Understanding who you're writing for is crucial to effective copywriting. Heather explains how knowing your target audience helps create personalized, compelling messages. Using AI in Copywriting: Heather shares how AI tools like ChatGPT can be great for getting a draft started but reminds us that the human touch is essential for polishing the final copy. Call to Action Tips: Heather gives us the AIDA method and explains how a clear, targeted call to action can make or break your copy. QUOTES TO REMEMBER: 1. "Writing with intention instead of just posting for the sake of it is the real game changer." 2. "Your copy should inspire action—whether it's clicking a link, signing up for a newsletter, or making a purchase." 3. "AI is a great tool for getting started, but your brand's voice is what truly makes the difference in connecting with your audience." GRAB HEATHER'S OFFER: My End of Summer Mini Package gives a taste of what it would be like to have juicy copy at the ready.
