Girl, Stop saying 'I'm sorry'. In 2025 we are going to stop fucking apologizing and this isn't the way that Ms. Hollis described it many years ago but we're going to do it in a way that is full of tough love in the best way possible. I want you to know that it never gets easier and you're never going to have it all figured out BUT if you continually fill yourself full of doubt instead of divine confidence, the world in which you live in, will never change. Please x infinity, stop making yourself small- for the person you are and the things that you do. You're not hurting OR helping anyone, especially yourself. Today's large take away is that you're never going to achieve the goals and dreams that you're liking of when your mind wonders and try to put into action if you keep apologizing. Trust me when I tell you, it won't always be this hard to self-analyze, it's kind of like cleaning out your mental closet. So let's purge Pam (the self-doubt bitch peep episode 98) from your brain and see how clear you feel and can then start anew as often or regularly as you need too, K babes? You've got this, we've got this- let's go!
OMG I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS IS THE FIRST EPISODE FOR 2025! We're bringing some MCE to your life this year babes! Do you have it? How do you Embrace it? How do you enhance it in others??? Let's find out some quick tips from this great article from Greenlight! Read all about it here: https://greenlight.com/learning-center/parenting-and-family/main-character-energy
This is your permission slip to stay in the pool of grief with an arm out of the water so someone can help pull you out. Yesterday, our plott hound of 13 years passed away on the arm of my husband, covered in a blanket from my parents (thank you Momma & Poppa Rose for letting me steal that comforter years ago, it was his favorite), in his sleep. That boy was the best and for now, that's all I have for you.Except one more thing I learned from that guy but didn't share in the episode: stay inquisitive just like Banner Thomas Dukes. Thank you for giving me the best love I didn't know I needed.Rest easy sweet Bannerman8.12.2011-12.01.2024 ♥️✨
honestly, the time together is great, but the time apart living in your individuality reigns supreme. of course, not all the time, but at least enough time so that you feel centered, challenged and cherished. for yourself, in order to make yourself the best presence for others and remain grateful in those relationships: the ones you've always had, the ones you're nurturing and those you've left behind. Challenge yourself this week darlin, its one of the greatest ways to remain grateful for your time here. I am here to help you understand that loving yourself first, leaves space for you to let all those who didn't love you before, step in and do the best work because you understand how cherished all time together and relationships from here on out- can improve your daily dose of filling your love cup. + sorry for the sideways video, we're learning over here
Let's Grow!Affirmations to Manifest.• nothing changes if nothing changes.• it is never too late to start the thing.• yes there will be ruptures but focus on the repair.• sometimes it is you.• listen to your body, it knows.• self-compassion releases you/judgement never will.• not everyone will get you, they're not your people.• your inner critic should not be your guide.• choose people who choose you.• deep honest conversations with yourself are hard but sometimes the only way.
4 things You can do to build your confidence1. Spend time alone - take yourself on little dates and get comfortable doing things in your own company2. Prioritizing your health - you love yourself more when you water your own plants3. Staying in your own lane - stop comparing yourself. Someone else's intelligence or beauty doesn't take away from yours4. Focus on dreams & goals - you'll feel so much more sure of yourself if you know the direction, you're going inIlybunches @thebabeafpod

Make it Romantic. Look around every once in a while and extend the universe a quick high five and thank you for who and what you surround yourself. If you can, make the choice- whatever that looks like for you and learn that even though change can be scary- it's beneficial babe. We remember reciting in grade school, right: sentences, proposition songs, rhymes we knew all the words when singing?! Well we often forget how great that can be for memory. To remind ourselves that we are worthy, worth it and deserving of the things that make us happier, better and all around mentally healthy. So today, I made you a list- to recite, to remember and to say daily until your words become belief. I love you & we are in this together!
Founded in 2022, Christi Wells founded what we now know and love as @AlltheSmallThingsTx, a home assistance company that does the shit that you don't want too. Soooo while i was waiting for the newest Women to Watch episode to come to life w this new editing software, i had a lovely idea to create an episode of the Unfuckery Chronicles with some sage advice from some of my favorite Florida who whom we've loved and watched live together for many a years to spread badassery, sass and great wisdom long after they were gone. Take a listen of some great ufc'ery from Blanche, Dorothy, Rose & Sophia. Long live ‘The Golden Girls'.
CHECK PLEASE!!! Are you checked in or checked out?!? We love a routine. We love creating & working on ourselves to find ways to continually make us better, yes? Well, I had a thought (probably because I was hungry) to make myself a ‘Self Care' Menu. Ya know an a la carte line up of things I can do to hold myself accountable, to move & shift if needed and to really get myself in a routine. What things would be on your SCM?! #selfcaremenu #episode184 #letsgetaroutine #alwaysbebabeaf #unfuckerychronicles #selfcareisntselfish #lfg #morningroutine #skincareroutine #workoutroutine
I had the ABSOLUTE pleasure to sit down with Melanie recently and while I've been apart of her amazing Facebook group (Girl Flock Party- I mean babes, events, flamingos, philanthropy? Who can say NO!) for awhile now and I am so so happy to she decided to carve out some time from her busy schedule to chat with me! First and foremost, You all know I love a woman who knows what she wants but even more, I love women who are continually choosing what they want for their life. and Melanie is doing EXACTLY THAT! Ok Ok, enough of me, lets Learn about Melanie! From her website ; 'So what you have seen plastered all over this website is my model face, but in reality I am a happy-go-lucky gal who loves to laugh and is passionate about art and doing good in the world. In high school, I modeled for several photographers to build a portfolio. I then moved on to work with Girlco Model Management in Dallas, Texas, while attending college. I took a break from modeling to continue my education and graduated with a BFA in Art from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2003. Skip to age 38. One day, I decided to take life by the (long)horns and got back to my roots by modeling and painting again. I wanted to break the fashion industry standards and stigmas by creating a need for a petite and classic model. I started working with local photographers in the Austin area, building a new portfolio. Soon I discovered independent magazines and learned how to submit my work. I was finally published and on the cover of a magazine for the first time in October 2016. Soon after that, I was signed with TL Modeling Agency in Houston, Texas. But things don't always go as planned. After enduring occasional rejection from magazine editors, I founded my own art & fashion magazine called Bevie in November 2016. My mission with Bevie was to showcase emerging, local and international talent such as artists, models, photographers, designers, and other creatives. By making a sophisticated publication more approachable, I was able to help my fellow colleagues get established or further along in their career. After two years of publishing my bimonthly mag, I decided to go back to work full-time and the last issue was released in December 2018. Bevie still has quite the following today! Today, I am now focused on creating mixed-media art, establishing my networking event, turned women's network called Girl Flock Party, and becoming a part of the local artist community. It has been an amazing journey and I am grateful for every experience along the way!' HOW CAN YOU NOT BE BLOWN AWAY FROM MELANIE AND ALL SHE IS DOING SERIOUSLY!!!!! You can find out more about the April Gala, Melanie's mixed media and Girl Flock Party all here: https://msha.ke/melanieallisongallery Jess's SHANKITGOLF code: JESSDUKES
The title starts with you. The belief that you can unfuck yourself from the shit clouding your brain, it starts with your understanding that it's all in your control. Do you take the first step? Yes. Do you analyze all 474647492 steps to success? Hell no. Do you know that it won't work if you never try? Absolutely. Well babes, it's time to get to work and we're doing it together so let's fucking go!
What a wonky week! Anyone else feeling the shift and how exhausting some days, weeks- shit, event months can be?!? I worked through a lot this week and I wanted to share some things that'll worked! First, just do it- whatever that ‘it' means to you. Second, Do something that makes you feel good about yourself; for me recently, it's good skincare and bright blush! Third, take as many breaths as you need & give yourself some grace babe! With a combination or even just one of these things have really pushed me into a better thought process and mindset this week. I hope that it can help you as well!
Sometimes, in order to unfuck yourself- you must stop & ask yourself intrusive questions- intrusive to you, to your thoughts on who you are & the life that you're progressing each day. Throughout the span of your life- Are we having huge belly laughs or are you just faking it? In your path of progression to a better you: Are you doing things that challenge and surprise you? Whether it's a negative or positive, you must keep yourself on your own toes! I am so happy to help get you unstuck from the things in life that make you feel utterly fucked and thank you for listening! Y'all are rad babes, trike remarkable!
Sometimes you need a UFC to take its time and sometimes your need a UFC to do just what its intended to do, which is give you a swift smooch on the cheek with tough love or even in a spot where you need a little tap on the booty, babes. If you're anything like me, I need a reminder in regards to 'scenarios' whether its worst case or best case- lets work on not going from 1 to 100 so quickly but hang more in the middle, like a 'most likely' or even 'hey what about this, take a breath and break' scenario... and lets see how it goes. As always, you're not alone, ilybunches and toodles to see you next time! xo -JLRD

A goal I set for myself this year is setting from dreams to reality, babes. One goal I've set for myself each month is to do a 'wrap up' if you will- Accomplishments & Challenges. I learned pretty recently that progress doesn't always count until there is a path. A path to take what you're say you want and put it into action- whether it be little by little, lunge by lunge or giant leap. Accomplishments & Challenges really pose a time of self evaluation coupled with excitement to get the job today. My call to action for ya'll, babes is to write yours down, tell them to the world and I would love to learn what yours are so that we can really really improve ourselves altogether. We've got this babe! Stay tuned for February- a collection of digital downloads for BabeAF media (also a coming adventure) and so many exciting events / workshops to come! #babeafbookclub is back- If you want the Zoom link for Sunday 2/4 and you've read 'Milk and Honey' by Rupi Kaur, send me a message!
A goal to set for yourself here in 2024: Couch Friends. Friends that you don't have to get out of sweatpants for, friends who can come over with their favorite blanket and snacks. Friends who you can just hunker down, get cozy, have some in house hangs and just enjoy time together. While you're in the 'era' this year, my advice: pick about 2-4 couch friends (depending on your seating situation of course ;)).
oftentimes, if you're like me, you do a really shitty job of showing up for yourself and always put others before what your actual needs may be. well, its 2024 and we are stopping that bullshit. its not selfish, its us, in our 'soft girl' era, just trust me- we are still the badass bitch that we've always been or known that we are, but this time, this year- there is no more of the things that we tell ourselves to hold us back, k? Here are a few tips to help you get back to that 'best self' and show up accordingly babes. no overextension stay moderately determined of our goals fuck the hustle culture stay stead and consistant, whatever that means for you get some sleep and drink some damn water challenge yourself with something new get in a giggle every day
The exact reason I started the 'Unfuckery Chronicles' was exactly for an episode just as this one. I have been sitting on episode ideas for WEEKS and done other things instead. I have purged my closet, cleaned the house, made soup and snacks and honestly, wanted to sit down and do ANYTHING except record a podcast. Not because I didn't want to show up for y'all but that is EXACTLY what I want to do. Alas, because I didn't just have the energy to sit down and do the work. SO today is the day, we're going to stop doing the 'nothing' and start with 'something' bc we deserve it and I am here to help hold us (you, me, other IRL and internet friends) accountable. So lets make 2024 the year of FA&FO as well as KA&TN. #iykyk.
Ahhhh I recorded an episode on 12/26 and thought i posted it so surprise, you get a 2 episode mashup today! THE Unfuckery Chronicles for January 8 (HBD to my baby sister): you're a 10! Annnnnnddddd 20 amazing microhabits to take into this year - easy to implement, keep it up if you've started & let's get our shit more together this year. Big happy thanks to @82pondview for the rad list that I tend to implement and get the ball moving this year!
Here's the new episode for season three babes! Ahhhhhh. In four years, i cannot honestly believe we are still lifting each other up, holding each other accountable and be each others biggest hyped cheerleaders in life. So last week, i got dressed. For some and how we show up in the world can be really difficult especially in the life events of inner and outer struggles. Key take away- if it feels weird, keep it on & go forth to wear what you want. Feel free to tag us as you go along in this journey. I can't wait to see you grow my shopping your own closet and styling vs wearing your clothes.
Charlotte Freeman of @momentaryhappiness recently told me that I AM ENOUGH, so I am sharing it with you! Lean in and listen babes, here comes season three!
OMG, i love the spontaneity of my brain, this podcast and you. While being unemployed, I've gone through a tremendous amount of an emotional wave over the last couple weeks and honestly, it feels like a death. But what i do know about grief and navigating the aftermath of things that are i fun, there is always a silver lining, sunshine and acceptance of yourself while taking action for your next steps. If you're in the same season I am, start to give yourself grace and space to surprise yourself- i saw this because, well i am in it. I have taken steps in the last couple weeks to really sit with myself which as some of you know who do this regularly with yourself can REALLY fuck with your perception of who you are and what you wanna do, next. Here's the thing about plot twists, they can be a great adventure- so buckle up!
Recently i stumbled on this post and honestly, it's a love letter to yourself. Not always an affirmation but a little hug around your neck and a check smooch of a job well done. Original post by @by.allyislia here but so happy to help you feel better today: https://instagram.com/by.allyislia?igshid=NzZhOTFlYzFmZQ==
If i have figured anything out in the last couple days, it's that no decision is also a decision. Taking the small steps to choose the way your life falls apart or comes together. It's not the instant gratification that satisfies us for the long haul, put in the small steps- overcome the obstacles and alway progress forward to fold in the goals you set and strive to in life. Thanks for hanging to get unstuck from the Unfuckery today. Love you bunches!
your mindset minute, is fast, full of hand claps for those of you in the back of the room that constantly fuck with everyone else's well being bc we're not taking it any more. and today, we're saying NO to the shit that we are NOT ok with, ya hear? stop being ok with the shit that you're not ok with, babes. stop fucking yourself. be the utmost most badass version of yourself. you are continually draining yourself your well being, mental health and the way you life your life. get your nostril above water and lets start reprioritize. exit safely, with strategy and support- i've got you. thats no bullshit. == simple and easy today babes, see ya next time, loveyoubuncheskthxsubscribebyeeeee.

These traits helped in providing valuable insights and inspiration for y'all...
Typically the reason I podcast is so that I can share love, knowledge and badass babes to all of you. But most times, I record episodes and topics that I NEED TO HEAR- to hold myself accountable, to go back and listen as a reminder and to help forge a path for my current self to navigate through to where I really want to be in my life. Most days, doing the things that I am about to share are simple and some days they are the hardest to remind myself to do each and every 24 hours at a time. MAKING MYSELF A PRIORITY is so challenging, rewarding, exciting and beneficial to not only my physical life but my emotional and mental state as well. Here are three quickies: Let's get dressed, like out of the shorts or pants you've been in for the last couple days or hours, see how that feels Get some fresh air, here in Texas I prefer the morning (before 8a) these days > I know who am I? Tell yourself that you can and you will navigate away from how this moment feels These are three simple items that you can do and tell yourself each day to maneuver from the thoughts, feelings, and all that come along to try to fuck you up in each day. I hope they help! Thank you for tuning in today- don't forget to like, share, subscribe and show love on socials (there is an exciting announcement at the end of today's episode, did you catch it?!)
Dating in 2023 but be the most challenging and weird thing ever, says the woman who met her husband through OkCupid (the web version) in 2010. I was browsing some inspiration on the internet this week and I stumbled upon this carousel of images that really caught my eye, in quite an intriguing way. so here goes, now listen, I am no expert in relationships, dating, marriage and the like- but I do have some things that have worked for me over the last 13 years dating the same man and being married to him for 12. I share some thoughts at the end of the episode based on the questions and I'd love for you to share your thoughts, post them and tag me for some interesting perspectives. here goes (original post from @viktoria.jagini via @femme_infopreneurs Instagram) Am I with a good person? What am I doing to hold us back? Am I happy in this relationship? Are we growing together? Is the relationship balanced? so so happy to be back babes, so so excited to bring you all new things :)
There comes a time in life where you stay or become a girl's girl, surrounding yourself when women who bring out the she-wolf in you or they soften that part of you as well. Pillar woman are strong in support, in friendship and in the way that they take care of and nurture your relationships- whether they are from childhood or brand new. I ask for some characteristics of your pillar women and what they do for your life; to me, THEY: Uncover the hidden facets who you are as a person (good, bad, loud, challenging or indifferent) the Acceptance is key. Understand and embrace the fierce warrior within you Embody your personal opportunity to be as feminine or fierce as you want to be As alas, WHO are your PW's? Welcome to this week's mini episode for The Unfuckery Chronicles: a small snippet of motivation for your Monday, ya know the day everyone dislikes! let's pivot, and here me when I say, please become who you are before before whomever dulled your fucking light stepped into your life.
As you know having items in your emotional toolbox can be day, month, year, shit even life changing. What you to today can definitely manipulate your mindset for better for worse at any given time but what is cool about it is that you have the capacity to pull an item from that toolbox and really kick your day in a different direction and into high gear. To reach goals, to take deep breaths, to navigate accordingly through the obstacles are all challenges we face and luckily, small steps always make big impact no matter the direction you're heading- so chin up buttercup, don't waste the pretty.
Ya'll I am not one to be ORGANIZED- ask my momma but what I do have/do is have a knack for WANTING to be organized. That counts right? With Mother's Day quickly approaching, I know that this day can be filled to triumphs, celebrations, constant worry, love, sorrow, remembrance and love. Yep, I said love twice and I have no shame for that. I reached out to a handful of my favorite mothers and asked them to share with me a couple of things. • Their favorite things about being a mother • A challenge they are currently facing or have overcome • Something they have done recently to feel more human (and not just a mother) Huge thank you to Cassidy, Lelia & Rachel for spending some time entertaining my hair-brained antics and continually to love me and your human so much each and every fucking week. Here's to many more years of friendship. ILYSM.

Interview three plastic surgeons, and tell them why your bodies flaws are precious to you. Invite an old rival to tea, and talk frankly about the past and the present. By one significant piece of original art. Give birth to your hearts deepest desire, and develop post natal amnesia about the pain so you can do it again. You know i love a challenge especially if you're tackling it alone, but thanks to Rebekah Shardy, there are many more that we need to explore and be a bit more daring, babes. Let's go explore & do more than we are comfortable with in our present space!
National Infertility Awareness Week is observed during the last full week of April and takes place from April 23 to 29 this year (2023), most often before Mother's Day in May. Infertility is a common challenge that doesn't discriminate, affecting anyone regardless of race, religion, sexuality, or economic status. TW// we do talk about death, life and addiction in this episode so please feel free to fast forward if our questions of things that we don't know offend you- As this is not our attention, we do our best to verbally process. We pray for the answers to the questions that you need are answered and are sending our thoughts and love to those families affected by any and all tragedies. So many things were discussed in this delayed #SundaySpill with my galpal Steph! We are not only catching up with each other but also in regards to our Top three pop culture pieces of News from the Fall/Winter of 2022 (thanks mostly to @people, @bachelornation and a general @Google search for our resources this time) and well into January 2023 just doing our best to get back on track with one of your favorite episdes of #thebabeafpod. We definitely discuss some delicate topics and some 'i wonder who, how or why this has happened' to certain celebrities and well known starts in trying to understand the processes of their lives. Not all episodes are rainbows and sunshine so we do our best to bring you the most up to date information on that pop culture news. We thank you for the bottom of our hearts to coming along on this learning journey with us as we dive into the details of Celebrities and what we love about them, no matter what.
It's funny ya know!?! When a song just presents itself into your life and then at the most amazing, gut wrenching or even unexpected times, it just shows back up. This song for me (other than ‘Rhiannon by Fleetwood Mac) is ‘Dog days' by Florence and the Machine. You may ask yourself, Jess! Is it the sassy beat!?! Nope, lean and listen to why! And tell me what your song is- a mood boost!? The song that makes you cry EVERYTIME?! The one that hyped you up?! They are all special and luckily they can all shoot you back to the exact time, date and feeling in the weirdest way possible. Thank Gos for the grief, the healing, celebration & excitement that music can bring.
Self reflection is the name this weeks game: even the evaluation of yourself, your own encouragement and being your own hype girl. It can be hard to be partially optimistic. Just as their are roadblocks, frustrations, and obstacles to dive into, walk through or bust down- you must first sit & then take action. If you're wanting to give up or in, there's so much more to who you are than the expectations you're setting for yourself. Those parameters are not what you always need to do in order to push forward but know that even baby steps are accomplishments to bigger & better opportunities for yourself. Let's go get it babes !!!
I love how instagram can just bring us all together! I had a pleasure of sitting down with Kels last week for my first interview for #womentowatch Wednesday, lean in and give a listen! From her website https://www.findingkels.com/about KELS is the perfect mix of jazz, pop and soul. Her brash vocals and sultry style reflect the old school sound of some of her biggest influences- Ms. Lauryn Hill, Sarah Vaughan, Erykah Badu, Adele, and Amy Winehouse with a profound lyricism to match. Born in Germany to military parents, she moved often as a child. By age 5 she was living in Pittsburgh with her mother and brother. KELS started writing songs at 13 years old. Growing up she was heavily involved in choir, singing at church and in jazz ensembles. Her debut EP, Slow Ryde, released in November 2021 displays her unique vocal style and versatile songwriting. KELS debuted her original music at a series of music festivals in Pittsburgh during the summer of 2021- headlining at The Three Rivers Arts Festival, Millvale Music Festival, Picklesburgh and opened for Kat Wright on her fall tour stop at Thunderbird Music Hall. In early 2022, KELS released a series of live renditions of original music. Most notably, her independent release of “Just Let Me Go (Live at Kingfly Spirits)” gained over half a million views on TikTok and has been streamed over a quarter of a million times across all listening platforms. Her newest release, "Be Fine." was featured in Earmilk and Newsweek as well as on a billboard in downtown Atlanta. KELS has been based in Atlanta for one year, and recently held her first headlining show at Smith's Olde Bar. The show sold out before doors opened. KELS is currently touring the United States independently. If you're available and in Austin this week (since I'll be out of town) please go see her and support her on tour this year!
