When my therapist first told me to start journaling as part of my recovery practice, I literally laughed in her face. Journaling? Like... affirmations? I didn't believe that writing in a notebook would help me recover from my eating disorder. It seemed too simple. Too basic. Too... pointless. But sis, I was so wrong. Journaling didn't just help me recover. It actually saved my life. And if fear is keeping you stuck in restrictive behaviors right now—if you're terrified to recover because you're not sure who you'll be without your eating disorder—then you need to hear this. In this episode, I'm breaking down the 7 science-backed benefits of journaling that transformed my recovery and why this simple practice might be the missing piece in yours. We live in a culture of information overload—endless scrolling, constant content, comparison on every platform. But what if instead of consuming more, you need to process what's already in your mind? According to the National Institute of Health, 26% of adults suffer from a diagnosable mental disorder. Eating disorders have the highest mortality rate of any mental illness. And yet, only 8% of the world population keeps a journal. It's time to go back to the basics. It's time to slow down. It's time to give your brain the space it needs to heal. In this episode, you'll discover: Why I laughed when my therapist suggested journaling (and why I was so wrong) The shocking statistics about mental health and why we need to process, not just consume 7 powerful benefits of journaling in eating disorder recovery (backed by science) How journaling reduces anxiety and depression while boosting your immune system Why getting thoughts OUT of your mind is critical for cognitive processing How writing promotes healing, acceptance, and actually changes your brain The way I used journaling to replace negative coping mechanisms with positive ones How journaling gives you reset, redirection, and compassion for your journey Why reflecting on your progress through old journals sparks hope and momentum Practical tips on how to start journaling TODAY (no fancy notebook required) If you've been stuck, if you've been overwhelmed by the thoughts in your mind, if you don't know where to go next—this episode is your permission to start simple. Start small. Start today. Journaling changed my life. And it can change yours too. KEY QUOTES FROM THIS EPISODE
You set the limit on what God can do in your life. God's definition of what is possible is far different from ours, but too often we settle for what we can map out and understand ourselves. As we read from Mark 6 and John 6, we see the 12 discliples do the exact same thing. But just like Jesus is waiting to do in our lives today, he shows that we can't box a miracle into our own limitations by feeding the 5,000 (and then 4,000 more).

Ever feel stuck in decision overload—second-guessing every choice, lying awake with racing thoughts, or wondering if you've already missed God's plan for your life? You're not alone, friend. In this episode of the Choose 2 Think Inspirational Podcast, we're unpacking the affirmation “God will guide me.”I'll share some of my own stories of how God showed up in both the little things (like picture frames!) and the big transitions (like remarriage and buying a home). We'll talk about why His guidance is steady, why it comes step by step (not all at once), and how it brings peace right here in the present moment. And because you know I love weaving faith with brain science, I'll explain what's happening in your brain when anxious thought-loops take over—and how truth and trust in God can literally rewire your neural pathways.By the end, you'll feel encouraged to take that next baby step, breathe a little deeper, and rest in God's steady hand.✨ What you'll take away:God's guidance isn't random—it's steady and personal.Neuroscience shows your brain can rewire toward peace.Replacing anxious thoughts with truth strengthens your mind. You don't need the whole map—just the next step.Peace is available right here, right now.Chapters00:00 Introduction and Quiz on Decision Making03:17 Understanding God's Guidance06:31 Neuroscience and Faith: Rewiring the Mind09:18Three Truths About God's Guidance12:05 God's Guidance is Steady16:13 Step-by-Step Guidance19:55 Finding Peace in the Present Moment24:06 Personal Stories of Guidance28:06 Recap and Final Thoughts
ABOUT THIS EPISODERemember when you were little, you believed you could be anything. Astronauts, artists, CEO, even Barbie had the wardrobe and accessories to prove it. But somewhere along the way, the message shifted. Instead of “you can do anything,” it became “be realistic, don't want too much.” And just like that, so many women were conditioned to check their dreams at the door.In this empowering episode, we're ripping up that outdated script and writing a new one. I'm diving into how you can embrace your Main Character Energy, remix those classical roles like mom, wife, employee, and leader, and infuse them with the bold desires of your heart. We're talking authenticity, women empowerment, self-love, community, and what it really means to expand instead of shrink. You'll learn why failure isn't the opposite of success—it's the pathway to it, how to reconnect with your buried dreams (or dream a brand new one), and a secret method I usually only share with clients. If you've been feeling restless, unfulfilled, or like your desires are “too much,” this episode is your permission slip to stop playing small and start believing in infinite possibilities for your life.KEY TAKEAWAYSIt's time to reconnect with what you really want.Main character energy is a decision, not just a vibe. You can have it all without shrinking yourself.Failure is a pathway to success, not the opposite.Dreams can evolve as you grow; it's okay to change them. The possibilities for your life are infinite.CHAPTERS00:00 Rediscovering Dreams and Ambitions08:25 The Power of Authenticity and Support18:02 Redefining Failure and Success26:46 Embracing Infinite Possibilities31:34 Empowerment Through Sharing and ConnectionTHE SELF-LOVE 2-STEPHere's the part that makes it simple and powerful—because you know I love giving you practical tools. The Self-Love 2-Step is your way to start moving toward your dreams without overwhelm.✨ Step 1: Name the Dream. Write down one dream you've been shrinking, shelving, or secretly sketching in your mind. Don't edit. Don't apologize. Just name it. If nothing comes to mind right away, give yourself grace. Dreams often show up through journaling, reflecting, or following what sparks joy. Remember—clarity comes through curiosity, not pressure.
What does it really take to stand out as a speaker in a noisy world? The zesty and unapologetically real, Annelise McCarthy, founder of Her Speaking Coach, joins Jeff to explore what speaking with confidence really means. From overcoming a childhood lisp to building a thriving global coaching business, Annelise shares powerful and counterintuitive lessons on communication, presence, and self-belief. This episode isn't about tips and tricks, it's about transforming the way you see yourself, so your voice carries the weight it deserves. We dive into:Why being brilliant isn't enough if you can't communicate it memorably. The myth that you need to be “serious” to be taken seriously. How self-love becomes the ultimate speaking skill. The spotlight effect, and why nobody notices your mistakes as much as you do.The shift from performance to presence that changes everything.Whether you're a founder, leader, or simply someone who wants to use their voice more powerfully, this conversation will remind you: it's never too late to claim your voice and step into the spotlight on your own terms.
Most believers know Jesus died for them, but few realize they died with Him. In this episode, we dive deep into the bold truth of Galatians 2:20: “I have been crucified with Christ…” What if the key to real freedom isn't striving to be better, but believing you've already died? If you've ever felt stuck, ashamed, or like you're dragging around an old version of yourself, this message will reset your perspective and restore your confidence. This is a Fan Fav episode. Sarah Jakes Roberts brings a raw honesty and magnetic vulnerability to this episode that truly moved me. We dive deep into some of her darkest battles—shame, self-worth, judgment, and those insidious whispers telling us we're not enough. Sarah reveals how being pregnant at 14 and living as the very public daughter of Bishop T.D. Jakes shaped, challenged, and ultimately expanded her sense of what's possible. Together, we peel back the layers on toxic thinking, betrayal, loving yourself after your lowest moments, and how to transform your “leftovers” into glory. Whether you feel lost, broken, or just in need of some truth-telling wisdom, Sarah delivers it straight. SHOWNOTES Sarah opens up about her struggles with worthiness, shame, and identity (00:00:08) The turning point: reframing scars as sources of wisdom instead of shame (00:02:29) Letting the poison out: why you must confront negative self-talk instead of hiding it (00:07:46) “The leftovers”: Sarah's powerful analogy for creating abundance from what's left after trauma (00:05:57) Building self-worth from the inside out and talking back to your inner critic (00:16:19) The impact of betrayal and reframing blame to fuel your own healing (00:33:13) How to draw boundaries—yes, even with family—and choose who qualifies to influence you (00:37:32) Incubating hope: how to protect and grow your inner dreams, even when no one else believes (00:25:54) From toxic relationships to flourishing partnership: Sarah's journey to love and protecting your space (00:18:38) The definition of success, and daring to become the next version of yourself (00:43:00) FOLLOW SARAH JAKES ROBERTS: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sarahjakesroberts/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/SarahJakesRoberts/ Website & Community: https://womanevolve.com/ You have to check out Sarah's work—her book, her podcast, her voice—the transformation she evokes is next level. We remember reciting in grade school, right: sentences, proposition songs, rhymes we knew all the words when singing?! Well we often forget how great that can be for memory. To remind ourselves that we are worthy, worth it and deserving of the things that make us happier, better and all around mentally healthy. So today, I made you a list- to recite, to remember and to say daily until your words become belief. I love you & we are in this together!
This episode has a little to do with ghost stories and the spookyness of finding out you recorded with a webcam mic 45 mins into a podcast. In other news crypto is back up in the market and we didn't even mention it on this epsiode. Not once. So if you were hoping for that, RIP I guess. No crypto talk here. Might have been a good idea, right? People like that kinda stuff and we do too trust me. We have lost our (metaphorical) booties on every crypto scam out of the northwest known to man, but that is besides the point. Honestly there is no point here as these descriptions serve as a train-of-thought outburst more than anything. I could sit here and type all day for all I care. Frankly I have nothing better to do. But alas, I will vanish for now. And come to think of it we all will with time, the ultimate destroyer. Can't get enough? Want to skip the show entirely and just watch highlights? Then tell your friends that it wasn't for you but they should check it out anyways just to see if its potentially their cup of tea, because you never know. Thanks and blessings. -PT & CP

When you're creating the life of your dreams and becoming the person you envision, there's one thing that you need above all else to carry you through to the other side...confidence! Believing in yourself is your only way forward through the really difficult parts of change and transformation. If you don't believe in yourself, you'll stop before you ever make it to the next level. The journey ends or you end up back at the beginning and it's game over. Building your confidence will be how you create the strong foundational core within yourself to be able to handle any judgment, roadblocks, fear, and self-doubt you'll encounter along the way. I started to see a pattern in my journey of moving forward for over a decade. There were 5 key things I did every time I started a journey of self-discovery which always came back to building my self-esteem no matter what journey it was. I'm sharing these 5 steps to building confidence with you today. The first 3 will get you started, and the last two you can read on the link below where you'll find out how to continue choosing yourself and never backing down from your truest path!
