Nvidia's RTX Spark Targets Apple's M-Series as a New AI Laptop Super ChipThe script argues Nvidia has escalated competition with Apple by unveiling the RTX Spark, an ARM-based “super chip” combining Blackwell GPU architecture with Grace, positioned for on-device AI agents. Citing reports from The Telegraph and Mac Rumors, it claims RTX Spark can run 120B-parameter local LLMs, handle 12K video editing, and play AAA games at 1440p with ray tracing, and will appear in a Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra plus high-end HP, Dell, and Lenovo systems. It frames this as a direct threat to Apple's M-series efficiency advantage and Mac “walled garden,” while noting Apple is banking on an N5 chip and rumored “Project Q” to build data-center-class AI chips to reduce reliance on Nvidia. The script highlights Nvidia's ~86% AI accelerator share and urges viewers to watch adoption over the next six months.00:00 Nvidia Challenges Apple00:29 Meet RTX Spark01:22 Three Big Advantages01:51 Windows Laptops Get It02:39 Apple Plays Defense03:04 Project Q Rumors03:45 Market Share And Bets04:41 Stay Winning Mindset05:02 Subscribe And Wrap Up________________________________________________________________FOLLOW ME ON X: https://twitter.com/staywinningusdFOLLOW ME ON INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/staywinningusd/SUBSCRIBE ON YOUTUBE: www.youtube.com/@staywinningusdDOWNLOAD ON SPOTIFY: https://open.spotify.com/show/2lPyA19keI2fpr0xZrEKxMNEWSLETTER SIGNUP: https://stay-winning-wealth.kit.com/806fb337d7SUBSCRIBE TO THE BLOG: https://medium.com/@staywinningusd________________________________________________________________

Podcast: Industrial Cybersecurity InsiderEpisode: Is Your IIoT Strategy Creating More Security Risks?Pub date: 2026-06-09Get Podcast Transcript →powered by Listen411 - fast audio-to-text and summarizationCraig and Dino address one of the most overlooked problems in OT security: the IIoT devices your security tools don't automatically detect. Most OT intrusion detection platforms do a reasonable job of identifying core control-layer assets such as PLCs, drives, and motor control centers. The problem is everything else. Laptops plugged into the network, third-party devices brought in by contractors, and a growing range of connected IIoT equipment often go completely undetected. Those are the gaps where risk accumulates.Craig and Dino explain why the belief that machines are air-gapped is a dangerous myth, how PLCs acting as gateways prevent intrusion detection platforms from seeing the devices behind them, and why an asset inventory is not the same as knowing your real risk and CVE exposure in multi-vendor environments. They reframe OT cybersecurity as a process-integrity problem and show how unmanaged network activity, third-party remote access, and even routine IT security scans can quietly degrade OEE and trigger unplanned downtime that costs millions.Using predictive-maintenance analogies such as thermal, harmonics, and vibration sensing, they make the case for treating digital anomalies the same way mature plants already treat mechanical ones. They close by examining why so many OT detection tools become shelfware, how to escape alert fatigue, and the two practical paths to real IT/OT convergence: building the right relationships with OEMs, system integrators, and AEC partners, and designing security-ready facilities from the ground up.It's a practical listen for CISOs, plant and engineering leaders, and OT/IT teams responsible for securing manufacturing and critical infrastructure.Chapters:(00:00:00) - Why No Industrial Asset Is Truly Air-Gapped(00:01:08) - IoT vs. IIoT: How OT Assets Get Classified(00:03:15) - The Control-Layer Blind Spot: Drives, Robots, and Motor Controls(00:05:25) - How PLC Gateways Hide Assets From Intrusion Detection(00:07:30) - Asset Inventory Isn't Risk: The CVE Gap in Multi-Vendor Plants(00:08:55) - When Cyber Blind Spots Become Costly Downtime(00:10:05) - Process Integrity: How Security Scans Disrupt Production(00:11:35) - Predictive Maintenance Meets Digital Anomaly Detection(00:17:45) - Avoiding OT Shelfware and Alert Fatigue(00:19:45) - IT/OT Convergence: Choosing a Partner and Building Secure-by-DesignLinks And Resources:Want to Sponsor an episode or be a Guest?

This week on Grumpy Old Geeks, Brian and Jason once again survey the smoldering wreckage of the tech industry and discover that the people building the future are increasingly being sued by governments, publishers, customers, employees, and occasionally reality itself. California is coming after 23andMe over its catastrophic data breach, Florida is taking a swing at OpenAI, CNN has joined the ever-growing conga line of companies suing Perplexity, and Meta somehow decided the solution to improving AI is recording employees' every mouse click while generously allowing them a whole 30-minute privacy break. Meanwhile, Google's own engineers are sharing memes about how much Google's AI tools suck, Microsoft apparently wants users addicted to its new AI assistant - first taste's free! - and Anthropic is preparing to go public with a valuation that makes even the most irrational dot-com era investor look financially responsible. The AI arms race continues producing exactly the kinds of outcomes you'd expect when venture capitalists start huffing their own press releases. Instagram's AI support bot reportedly helped hackers steal accounts because apparently "Are you sure you're the owner?" was considered an optional step. Suno raised another $400 million while fighting copyright lawsuits, Paramount+ seems to have let AI create the ugliest Star Trek thumbnail in Federation history, and Stan Lee has now been digitally resurrected because modern capitalism looked at death and said, "Nice try." Over in transportation, BYD is so confident in its self-driving technology that it's willing to pay for your accidents, while Tesla owners are discovering their old Full Self-Driving contracts may have quietly received software updates of the legal variety. Somewhere in a conference room, a lawyer just whispered, "Let's not put that in writing," ten years too late.Elsewhere, governments worldwide continue their ongoing experiment of raising children by confiscating smartphones. Malaysia has implemented a social media ban for kids under 16, Poland wants phones and smartwatches locked away at school, and Kentucky schools just collected $27 million from social media companies accused of building products as addictive as cigarettes.Dave Bittner drops by for a visit and we discuss Spotify listeners apparently preferring old music because new music keeps getting algorithmically focus-grouped into oblivion and a healthy dose of Star Wars, Downton Abbey, Derry Girls, Lego, books, gadgets, and AI-generated jazz. Add it all up and you've got another week where the only thing moving faster than technology is the legal department trying to keep up.Sponsors:DeleteMe - Get 20% off your DeleteMe plan when you go to JoinDeleteMe.com/GOG and use promo code GOG at checkout.Shopify - Sign up for your one-dollar-per-month trial today at Shopify.com/grumpyPrivate Internet Access - Go to GOG.Show/vpn and sign up today. It's developer conference season, and one of the themes so far has been big swings at AI apps. We've seen Gemini Spark, Microsoft Scout, and so many other attempts to figure out what people, and companies, actually want their AI to do. Nilay and David discuss their experiences with the apps, before turning to Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang's vision for the AI-filled laptop of the future. Description:In this episode of John Solomon Reports, Florida Republican Byran Donalds joins John to discuss his plans to reform his state's permitting process, including creating a one-stop permit shop, implementing an efficiency shot clock, and establishing a corporate business court to expedite litigation.Donalds also talks about his proposal to personalize success plans for students with parental opt-in and highlights his support for the Financial Freedom Act. The measure aims to expand 401k retirement investment opportunities and overall help Americans have greater financial freedom. Donalds expresses appreciation that President Trump endorsed his gubernatorial campaign and stresses the importance of reducing property taxes, which he says have doubled in a decade. Finally, Donalds touts Trump and Congress's recent successes, including securing the border, deporting illegal immigrants, tax reforms and making housing more affordable. In the second segment, Thomas Keuhns, a senior intelligence community official under President Barack Obama, discusses the dishonesty of the former intelligence officers who signed the Hunter Biden laptop letter and claimed it was a Russian operation. Keuhns' identification memo that it was a deception operation with lack of FBI input, poor writing and selective information was referred to the Justice Department. He reflects on his deployment in Iraq, extensive work with counterterrorism analysis, the CIA, and DNI, as well as his decision to leave the intelligence community. In the third segment, Sam Lyman, the head of research at the Bitcoin Policy Institute, dives into the artificial intelligence competition between China and the U.S., specifically how China uses AI to predict and suppress domestic and international political dissent.Lyman discusses how the Neville Singham network's connection to American media outlets spreads fear about AI and data centers, ultimately funding political agitation in the United States and causing people to disagree with policies that in fact benefit the U.S. government. He explains that the U.S. tax code protects some of these organizations pushing American frustration, as well as why filtering out foreign influence is important for ensuring disseminated information is accurate and transparent.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Recent data from IDC indicates that Apple has successfully entered the mainstream laptop market with the launch of its MacBook Neo. The device achieved significant early momentum by shipping 1.1 million units during its initial weeks of availability. This strategic move targets budget-conscious buyers who typically purchase Windows-based machines from competitors like Dell and HP. By leveraging optimized silicon technology and more accessible pricing, Apple is challenging the long-standing dominance of traditional PC manufacturers. Analysts suggest this shift could permanently alter industry dynamics if Apple maintains its sales velocity through upcoming shopping seasons. Ultimately, the Neo's debut represents a major effort to expand the Apple ecosystem beyond its traditional high-end niche.

Jon Herold comes in Monday light on prep and heavy on chat, which is exactly how a slow Monday should go. Tina Peters walked out of prison today after 606 days, and Jon gives it the credit it deserves while flagging that her clemency comes with probation conditions, not a pardon, and he wants to watch how the op around her story unfolds before getting too comfortable. The Iran situation spent most of the show in a confusing standoff: Iran claiming talks are fully suspended because of Israel's attacks on Lebanon and Hezbollah, and Trump posting mid-show that all troops heading to Beirut have been turned back and a fresh Hezbollah ceasefire is already in place. Jon notes the contradiction and lets the audience sit with it. A former Obama-era intel official submitted a memo calling the 51 intel officials' Hunter Biden laptop letter a coordinated deception operation, which Jon acknowledges is correct and calls five years overdue. California's primary is drowning in undisclosed AI slop and paid influencer campaigns, and Jon makes a clean argument for full public disclosure on both sides of political ad spending. Spencer Pratt is probably losing tomorrow. And Jon would like one straight white guy month.

MetTel's Max Silber discusses how connected laptops, multi-carrier SingleSIM connectivity, and lifecycle management can reduce endpoint friction for enterprise IT teams. By Doug Green, Technology Reseller News In a Technology Reseller News podcast, Doug Green speaks with Max Silber, Vice President of Mobility and IoT at MetTel, about a growing enterprise challenge: keeping laptop fleets connected, secure, and manageable as employees work across offices, homes, customer sites, and the road. The conversation centers on MetTel's Connected Laptop as a Service, or CLaaS, a new offering designed to help enterprise IT teams reduce the time, labor, and complexity involved in laptop deployment and ongoing management. MetTel announced the service as a multi-carrier, agnostic connected laptop offering powered by SingleSIM, giving organizations a way to deliver connected devices without forcing every endpoint into a single-carrier model. Silber explains that the connected laptop has become more than a convenience feature. For many organizations, it is now part of a larger mobility and security strategy. When users depend on public Wi-Fi, hotel networks or unsecured local connections, the enterprise inherits risk and inconsistency. By delivering laptops with always-on cellular connectivity, MetTel is positioning CLaaS as a way to improve both user experience and IT control. A key theme of the podcast is lifecycle management. Instead of asking internal IT teams to image, ship, activate, track and replace devices manually, MetTel's approach uses the MetTel Customer Portal and fulfillment capabilities to move more of that work into a managed service model. Devices can be requested through the portal, shipped directly to users and provisioned with connectivity and customer-specified management tools. For channel partners, MSPs and enterprise technology advisors, the discussion points to a broader opportunity. Laptop management is often treated as a hardware procurement issue, but Silber frames it as a mobility, connectivity and operational resilience issue. As hybrid work matures, the need for secure, predictable and centrally managed endpoint connectivity is becoming part of the larger managed services conversation. MetTel's SingleSIM approach is designed to support data-only devices across carrier networks, devices and geographies. That matters for distributed organizations because a single network may not perform consistently in every region, facility or remote-work location. A multi-carrier model can give enterprises more flexibility while reducing the friction of managing multiple carrier relationships. The podcast also highlights the practical pressure on IT departments. Enterprise leaders are asking for faster deployment, better security and greater employee productivity, while IT teams are already managing large numbers of endpoints. CLaaS is presented as one way to relieve that burden by combining device logistics, activation, connectivity, support and replacement into a more streamlined service. Silber also discusses the role of virtual warehousing and fulfillment. MetTel stages and ships connected laptops from its facilities, helping enterprises standardize configurations and accelerate deployment at scale. The result is a model that treats laptop connectivity as part of the enterprise network, not as an afterthought added after purchase. For Technology Reseller News readers, the key takeaway is that enterprise mobility is moving beyond phones and tablets. The laptop itself is becoming a managed, connected endpoint, and that creates new conversations for service providers, channel partners and advisors serving distributed enterprises. Key takeaways Connected laptops are becoming part of the enterprise mobility and security stack. MetTel's CLaaS offering is designed to reduce the operational burden of laptop deployment, activation, support and replacement. SingleSIM gives enterprises a multi-carrier approach for data-only devices across locations and networks. The service can help organizations reduce dependence on unsecured public Wi-Fi. For channel partners and MSPs, connected laptops create a new managed mobility conversation with enterprise customers. He explains how the episode introduced both graphic designer Ryan — creator of the iconic nodding Dopey logo — and Todd Curry, Dave's longtime using buddy who would later die in 2018, just weeks before Chris. Dave reflects on Chris's original idea for a “Dopey Stories” book made up of listener submissions and stories from the show. He talks about failed attempts to pitch the project to publishers and wonders whether self-publishing a Dopey book on Amazon might finally make sense. He invites listeners to resend their best stories to dopeypodcast@gmail.com. Disclaimer: I think I called Spanish People Stupid - but it was meant totally with love. Dave then shifts into a recap of Music on the Mountain in Vermont, where he attended with Linda and the kids. He talks about seeing Anders Osborne, Daniel Donato, Jackie Greene, Karina Rykman, Eggy, Lamp, and others. Susan celebrates her eighth birthday and hilariously insists on introducing bands onstage after Dave lets her introduce Karina Rykman. Dave admits Susan might actually be a better MC than him. Dave promotes the upcoming Dopey Short Film Festival at the SVA Theater, mentioning Mountainside as a possible title sponsor and joking about Katz's desserts and Othello cookies potentially being involved. He reads Patreon and Spotify comments reacting to the previous replay episode, including discussion of Rush, Basketball Diaries, Knicks playoff hopes, bread basket addiction, and people missing Chris. Dave goes on multiple tangents about bread, fitness, the Knicks, and Cleveland versus Detroit. The replay itself begins with Chris and Dave just starting to record when Todd randomly calls in. Todd immediately launches into a story about getting arrested while allegedly trying to buy weed in a housing project. Chris and Dave immediately question the story while Todd insists he was only trying to buy marijuana. The conversation spirals into stories about community service, Delancey Street cleanup duty, reverse discrimination jokes, airport profiling, Todd's history with Dave, and their years selling drugs together. Chris openly campaigns for Todd to become a recurring Dopey guest while Dave resists because Todd is still actively using heroin and weed. Graphic designer Ryan joins the conversation and explains why he loved Dopey from the beginning — because it wasn't a traditional recovery podcast. He says recovery shows felt too church-like, while Dopey mixed active addiction stories with recovery in a way that could actually reach addicts. Todd and Dave argue about whether active users should appear on Dopey. Ryan attempts to sober coach Todd live on the air, asking him what heroin does for him emotionally. Todd admits heroin covers feelings of loneliness, insecurity, and self-hatred. He describes failed relationships, yoga classes, women, and using heroin to cope with emotional pain. Ryan explains the basics of abstinence and recovery while Todd half-jokes and half-confesses his inability to stop using. Chris mostly eggs the entire thing on while enjoying the chaos. The episode shifts into stories about Mountainside and the infamous “Phase Four” extended-care house. Ryan explains how he entered treatment planning only to save money for heroin afterward, but somehow ended up getting sober instead. Dave admits he originally thought Ryan would never stay sober, while Dave himself eventually relapsed despite appearing more serious about recovery at the time. Ryan tells wild detox stories involving escaping treatment during withdrawal, trading a $2,500 laptop for heroin bundles, walking through snowstorms, and eventually landing at Mountainside. The group discusses relapse, sobriety, AA sponsorship disasters, yoga, heroin addiction, and the randomness of getting sober. The episode eventually devolves into jokes about Dave's disgusting toenail, Instagram photos, podcast structure, and arguments about whether episodes should be one hour long. Chris insists on ending every episode with “Good So Bad,” while Dave complains nobody wants long podcasts — ironic considering modern Dopey episodes often run three hours. Back in present-day narration, Dave reflects emotionally on hearing Todd and Chris together again. He reveals that Todd eventually appeared on Dopey multiple times, including once when he left mid-recording to go downstairs and shoot heroin before returning to finish the episode high. Dave closes by talking about Ryan's later recovery work at Berkshire Transition Network and how foundational he was to early Dopey. He reflects on the pain, foreshadowing, and innocence captured in the episode before ending with “Good So Bad” and a tribute to Chris and Todd. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company.
