We've been pretty busy in Slasherville, but we're still here doing what we do, and this week we sitting down with special guest producer and writer Noa Durban to discuss Dream Warriors, Silent Hill and the Butthole Surfers.
Don't even think about burning this guy's house down and killing his family to build your mall. We won't spoil it for you, but "someone" will get his revenge if you do.
Unfortunately, you've probably never seen this movie, so there's no chance you'll have a clue what we're talking about in this episode. It's called Scream, and it came out in 1996 or something. You may recognize the guest we talk about it with, though. Alexander Taylor is the music composer for films like Scream Queen: My Nightmare on Elm Street (2019), Arkansas (2020) and The Spider (2024). So, we couldn't think of a better person to talk to about how even an obscure movie like the one we have for you here can be lifted up to a place of pride with just a little help from music.
Grab your crucifixes...or crucifixi and vomit pea soup out your B-holes because Alex and Micah are back from break with the little known 1973 possession horror flick, "The Exorcist." The Slasher Brothers are joined by very special guest, drag queen superstar SHE...with special commentary by mystery guest voice, Dr. Scott! Is "The Exorcist" of them things you should watch alone in the darks or is it just an overrated piece of garbage that makes you type crappy sentences into the episode details section? Only time and this episode will tell.
During a segment break, paranormal investigator Hannah played some audio for us. It wasn't creepy then...but it is creepy now. Look for yourself.
In this bone-tickling episode, the Slasher Brothers are joined by special guest, paranormal investigator Hannah, to take on 2020's nail biter "Host." It's a roller-coaster of laughs and screams as Alex and Micah dissect every spooky scene and share their gut-busting commentary. With their unique blend of humor and horror expertise, they'll have you cackling in terror! (This is so written by AI) But that's not all! (Totally AI) The episode also features a thrilling final girl competition where the bravest soul emerges victorious. Who will survive the gory showdown and claim the coveted title? Tune in to find out! (Just write your own stuff already)
Your neighbors disappear, the new neighbors dig in their backyard at night in the pouring rain, every now and then strange sounds and lights come from their basement and they drive their garbage down to the edge of the driveway and beat the hell out of it with a stick. For most of us in Slasherville, that sounds like a pretty dope vacation. Ray Peterson is not from Slasherville. He lives in Iowa or Illinois or something. Anyway, the Slasher Brothers determine whether the classic that is "The Burbs" falls within the horrorverse or maybe Iowa or Illinois or something.
Talk about starting the year in the toilet! (See thumbnail) We watched Ghoulies and Ghoulies 2 to learn why Charlie Band is considered one of the most prolific filmmakers in Hollywood history, winning seven Academy Awards and two Grammys, all by the age of 14. It's gonna be a wild year final girls. Check out the dope ass songs we used in this episode by visiting the dope ass bands that made them. No matter where you are, there's just something about snow during the holidays that warms our cockles. We know the stress of the season can get to us all, but at least you're not being ripped apart by wolves because your girlfriend dropped her glove. So, as you wrap those last minute gifts, the Slasher Brothers want to give your ears the gift of their sultry voices picking apart Adam Green's 2010 horror/thriller Frozen to help pass the time. Merry Christmas, killers.
Yeah, yeah, we didn't watch the movie you thought we watched. Well, we did, but....you'll see. It's Christmas time in Slasherville so we took a hard left right at the edge of town, on the way to see relatives, and turned right back around to Slasherville to spend the holidays with YOU and our special guest Brian Sheehan from TV and Movie Trivia pod. How about a little Final Girl to boot. We like a good holiday celebration, so pull up a log, toss your empties in the fire and join us down here in the swamps for some 1980s Gremlins nostaligiarific good times...and Wallaby Wanker. Check out more from our special guest Brian Sheehan from TV & Movie Trivia Pod
We asked this week's special guest…podcaster, writer, blogger, horror movie reviewer and all around horror fanatic, Stephanie Malone of MorbidlyBeautiful.com, if she'd choose a movie and join us in Slasherville to pick it apart. She did not disappoint. We watched the 2006 classic of video game horror turned big screen franchise, “Silent Hill.” Does it hold up? Did it ever? Why do those terrifying nurses call to Alex like an irresistible siren's song, haunting his dreams carnally? We find out the answer to some of those questions, play a little Final Girl and hide a few surprises along the way. Please, tell a friend about the podcast so we can eventually quit our jobs and, while you're at it, go check out Stephanie Malone and the gang at morbidlybeautiful.com!
Is your significant other less than perfect? We have the solution! Run them over with a remote controlled lawn mower of death then rebuild them using the recently exploded body parts of "super crack" addicted sex workers! On this very special episode of Slasher? I Hardly Know Her!, Micah & Alex finally sort out who is the sub & who is the dom with sex worker turned kink therapist, Farrah Bonnot. The answer will shock & amaze you! Farrah walks the boys through the ins & outs of the sex trade & they play a jaw-dropping game of Final Girl.
Imagine that you were so desirable that you could actually make a living being a "cam girl" doing... adult things on camera. Then imagine you become super popular. With us so far? Now, imagine that your identity, career, fans, and face are completely stolen by AI for no apparent reason other than to really creep out anyone who watched a movie about what's happening to you so that they could review it on their horror movie review podcast. FINALLY, imagine that when you listen to that podcast, the hosts watch and review the movie with an ACTUAL super popular cam girl. Sasha Voorhees joins us as we watch 2018's "Cam" to find out if the horror is real or if this movie is even real horror.
Scenario: Your parents die when you're very young, and you're forced into a military school where you are relentlessly bullied. What do you do? If you said, "Summon the devil with 16 dozen candles and a really old computer," then this is the movie for you. Watch Clint Howard incant until he can't incant no more. This week, we watched 1981's Evilspeak with very special guest cinematographer and director Mike L. Taylor. You've seen his work on the greatest movie never made, "Zomboobies," plus other greats such as "The Dawn of Don Damage." Oh yeah, one of you wins a prize too.
They were here once already, and it wasn't good. Just ask Barbara. Now, THEY'RE BACK! The living dead have returned in this 1985 classic. This week we're joined by writer, producer and "Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo" director Audie Harrison as he tells us about his new horror project "Headbanger." We let the guest pick the movie and Audie did not disappoint. We'll also find out which one of our loyal listeners can navigate Slasherville's maniacal killer until the very end to become this week's Final Girl!
The Slasher Brothers go contemporary! This week we watched 2023's Angry Black Girl and Her Monster. Loosely, but arguably closely, adapted from Mary Shelley's classic, this retelling takes us out of the European countryside and into a present day American city where all hell is about to break loose. It's the pick of this week's special guest, CJ from @TerrorDetective on Instagram. What happens when the brainy girl from class decides she wants to reanimate the lifeless corpse of her dead brother? We already told you, all hell breaks loose. Plus, we'll be playing the Final Girl Challenge to find out which lucky Instagram follower will be savvy enough to survive this week's game and claim our coveted mystery prize!
As the aerobics craze continued to grip America, one movie had the guts to make a statement on the dangers often feared but never discussed: Aerobicide...or Killer Workout as most of the world knows it! In this 1987 "classic," we learn that the work you put in to obtain that perfect beach bod may be the very thing that gets you killed by a vengeful ex-model horribly burned in an all too common tanning bed mishap. We'll also announce our very special guest for the next episode, find out why safety pins are so very far from safe and see who will take the mystery prize in this week's Final Girl Challenge.
Evil Dead Summer continues with the third installment of Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell's Deadite infested world. Take 1/3 Evil Dead, a full cup of Evil Dead 2 and mix in a dash of Back to the Future and you have 1992's ARMY OF DARKNESS. When a clay skeleton makes sweet love in the nighttime to a boom stick toting tagline, you get this fantabulous piece of horror history. Stick the remainder of your arm into your chainsaw's nub hole and hang one while the Slasher Brothers talk geysers of blood and Final Girl hopefuls in this week's phenomenal episode.
Sam Raimi's classic...sequel, or requel or...we don't know. We do know we love Bruce Campbell though! Did you confuse part one and two like we did? Guess what? One of us threw in Army of Darkness into that confusion as well. Who cares?! We watched Evil Dead 2! Does it hold up? Will we continue the trilogy, and who will win Final Girl? Only one way to find out. Hit play, hit subscribe and tell a friend about this show. OK, so you actually only have to do one of those things.
Micah & Alex brave the dry ice fogged forests of 1981's splatter masterpiece, The Evil Dead, & play a perverse little game show called Final Girl.
Have you seen Bloody Birthday? No? Were you or any of your kids born during a poor visual effects eclipse? Yes? OK, this is the movie for you. Before things start to get real, let's discuss your options because the killing is about to get f'n bananas. We watched Bloody Birthday, played the heck out of some Final Girl and had a blast. Watch the movie first, then we'll catch you on the flip side.
It's not one of those movies you take home to mother. Dead Alive is a super freak, a super freak. It's super freaky. Yow, this one is off the charts. Micah picks a movie based on the insane video clips he finds to put on our Instagram and, by God, here we are. We also learn who survives in this week's Final Girl Challenge and award our crunchiest kills...good lord, there are just so many.
There are movies and there are movies. "The Telling" is a thing that was filmed and edited at some point. Probably on a deadline...so, props for that. I once went to a Cheddar's where I ordered a cheese and meat dip appetizer. Literally queso with ground beef in it. Cheddar's ain't fancy. When it arrived, I realized there was no meat and told the server he'd accidentally brought me the queso without the meat. He returned with a bowl of ground beef and told me his manager told him that if I wanted meat, I could add it myself. I no longer choose Cheddar's for eating things. This is a true story...also, it's a much better story than any one the FOUR? stories in this movie. This episode though...not to be missed. Final Girl winner, Heather on top of her game, and did we mention PLAYBOY MODELS?!!!! See you on the other side. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/slasherhardlyknowher/support
Micah and Alex revisit a movie they haven't seen since it debuted. Did they like it then, will they like it now? That depends on whether Sutter Cane wrote the answer to that question. Hit play and let's visit Hobb's End together as we go In the Mouth of Madness! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/slasherhardlyknowher/support
Victor Crowley swaps swamps, going from Honey Island to Slasherville for Alex & Micah's second gruesome dive in the Hatchet universe. Spoiler alert: Hatchet II is twice as hatchety! That's a word, right? --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/slasherhardlyknowher/support
How did we find this movie? Man, that is a good question. Apparently a lot of you have seen it, and now we can count ourselves among you. A man is kidnapped by aliens, but nobody believes that's what happened except his son who he later comes back to find after being birthed from the canal of an unknown woman as a grown man, only to turn his son into what can best be described as a zombie. We try to figure this one out. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/slasherhardlyknowher/support
Happy New Year!...but a not so happy new year for the passengers on 1980's Terror Train. As the death of disco can be heard distantly from the dance car, terror reigns in the sleepers as the inexplicable college party trains barrels down the tracks to hell. This week, Micah and Alex take three shots of 100 proof 1980's horror starring the most famous magician and scream queen of the 20th century. Plus two contests. Count them, TWO! Help us name our killer. There may be a prize in it for you! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/slasherhardlyknowher/support
If you were around for the original theatrical run of The Blair Witch Project, then you know it was...misleading. A fantastic marketing campaign that had us all clambering to uncover whether three filmmakers actually went missing in the woods while, at the same time, ruining the career of one of the main actors. "This movie's gonna be huge, but you'll barely work again and wind up living on a pot farm on the west coast." That actually happened by the way. Anyway, this week, Alex and Micah are joined by fan favorite guest Dr. Scott as the trio treks through the misty forest in search of whether this once terrifying movie is still even a little scary. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/slasherhardlyknowher/support
Like so many fans, for decades we've hoped to see the "Halloween III: Season of the Witch" universe expand but were too lazy to do anything about it. You know who can't use that excuse? Filmmaker Michelle Lynn Blasky! She was kind enough to sit down with "Slasher? I Hardly Know Her!" to discuss the upcoming Season of the Witch sequel, "The 3rd Channel," and how she and her team went about keeping the feel of the original film while adding a new chapter to a story so many have loved for so long. So, put on your Silver Shamrock masks, sit down in front of your TV...but don't turn it on. It may distract you from listening to this special episode on whatever you're using to listen to it. Also, your head might melt and turn into bugs. Enjoy! Check out The 3rd Channel trailer here! When you find yourself in need of some campy 80s horror, you know we're the source, but does it get campier than Waxwork? Probably. Does it get horrorer? Definitely. When you make a movie about dozens of wax figures, but the FX budget doesn't have room for even one, it doesn't mean you can't make a film that delivers...well, delivers something. BUT WAIT! Have you heard about that movie that almost no one is talking about, Terrifier 2? Us too because EVERYONE is talking about it! So, we break from the normal format and give you TWO, count 'em, TWO movies for the price of one podcast episode. Which is zero dollars, so that's a bargain. Creepy clowns demolishing people's faces, wax figures battling grandpas and another winner of The Final Girl Challenge announced...we're taking it to new levels folks! Enjoy! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/slasherhardlyknowher/support
If you like your burlap sack masked killers a little more of the southern variety, man have we got the movie for you. We watched both The Town that Dreaded Sundown films. Based on the Texarkana moonlight murders that took place in the '40s, the 1974 version took a lot of flack. So, why not make another one in 2014? Alex and Micah watched them both, wrote some notes (not really) and had a few drinks on a cabin porch in deep in the Slasherville swamps to discuss the finer points of The Town that Dreaded Sundowns. Plus, we hit the streets for another edition of Bunker Bag and pull a trick out of our collective sleeve with a special team version of the Final Girl Challenge? Did you survive? Hit play and see. Happy Halloween slashers! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/slasherhardlyknowher/support
There's probably a fetish for this sort of thing, and the director of Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers must have it. The question is, must you watch it? Back for Season 2 of Slasher? I Hardly Know Her! Alex and Micah rev up their chainsaws and drink in the horror that is Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers. Plus, we've added a few surprises this season. What would you take into your bunker during a zombie apocalypse? We hit the streets to find out! Not to mention, but we will anyway, the Final Girl Challenge is back!! Who will survive? --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/slasherhardlyknowher/support
In the Season 1 finale, Alex and Micah dive head first into the barrel of in-toxic-ating waste called "The Toxic Avenger!" The Troma classic so offensive that it could not be made today, yet spawned a cartoon, a line of toys, three sequels and a reboot...so, we guess it can be made today. Grab a cup of slimy radioactive goo, cuddle up to a sightless victim turned toxic waste site living girlfriend and come with us to Tromaville where we find out why it only takes one eye and a mop to win over the hearts of millions. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/slasherhardlyknowher/support
You've seen this movie, right? You've probably done something similar when you were a teenager, right? Is that just us? Regardless, we watched Joy Ride so you can decide whether is fast enough or furious enough for your viewing pleasure. Also, why not find out who this week's Final Girl winner is and if it's true that Micah indeed does have several families in various states. What a dog. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/slasherhardlyknowher/support
Can you make a likeable horror movie about a machine that only kills you when you disregard the safety rules associated with that machine? Well, you can make one that one of us likes. We watched the film adaptation of Stephen King's "The Mangler" to see what all the hubbub was about. Just kidding, there was no hubbub. So, we made some! Also, the real threat of the genetically engineered beast Elephino is made apparent, Micah's new dog continues to sabotage the show and we find out which of our lucky Instagram contestants will be this week's Final Girl! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/slasherhardlyknowher/support
If you're a fan of Sleepaway Camp then we hope it's the franchise you're in love with and not the gloriousness that is the first movie in the series. What happens when the misunderstood victim...or killer in the first outing of a piece of slasher art comes back to ply her evil trade onto a new and unsuspecting collection of campers and counselors? The answer very well might make you gargle inordinately high water levels in an abandoned camp cabin outhouse or don one of the worst Freddy or Jason costumes ever seen on screen...but was it worth watching? Spoiler alert: YES, yes it is. The Slasher Brothers count up Angela's kills, reminisce on one amazing mullet and do it all in the same room together for the first time in their podcast history. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/slasherhardlyknowher/support

Buddy cops, zombies and one of the buddy cops is a zombie...or maybe it's both. We watched 1988's "Dead Heat" and learned rigor mortis sets in much faster (and more pronounced) when the body is placed face down in a fish tank, realizing you're a zombie doesn't hinder your life nor your investigation if you're the right type of 80s cop and Uzis must be cheap if you buy them in bulk. Whether they want to or not, Joe Piscopo and Treat Williams meet the Slasher brothers in this episode of "Slasher? I Hardly Know Her!" A cult classic without a cult following. "The Video Dead" shows us that just because you make a movie of "Troll 2" caliber doesn't mean you'll have a documentary made about your film a la "Best Worst Movie" (2009). "Girl, look at that body. I work out." Not just the lyrics from a a 2011 song that made us LMFAO, but also the basis for an amazing 1988 flick that blended body building and well...bodies. We watched "Death Spa," to find out if working out is just as dangerous as Micah keeps trying to convince his significant other that it is. Slasher? I Hardly Know Her! returns to our regular schedule with a movie that clearly never went through the R&D phase.
