We Got a Lotta Culottas! Jordy joins the show to break down LSU football (1-1). After a 2-0 start to the 2022 season, MSU faces LSU in Baton Rouge on Saturday night in what is both teams' SEC opener. Kickoff time is set for 5 p.m. CT. The Bulldogs defeated the then-reigning national champions LSU in their last trip to Baton Rouge in 2020. That game was also Mike Leach's debut as the Mississippi State head coach.Mississippi State has played LSU 115 times dating back to 1896, which is more than any other SEC opponent besides Ole Miss. The Bulldogs and LSU boast the most-experienced receiving corps in the SEC. State returns 72.2 percent of its receptions from a year ago, which trails only LSU (72.5 percent) in the league.
The Bucs 1-0. Tom Brady come to the Dome to play the Saints, also 1-0. The Falcons blew a 16-point lead. Jordy Culotta will join us to talk LSU-Mississippi St. this Saturday. We will talk a lotta fantasy football. And we will end with some not-so-good stuff. Like Marshon Lattimore's mistakes. The PC of PC. Play calling of Pete Carmichael. And my theory on Jameis Winston getting warmed up. Alvin Kamara's injury, and my early bets of the week.
This was recorded 24 hours before the Saints' 27-26 comeback win over the Falcons.

Jesuit New Orleans head football coach Ryan Manale previews the defending state runner-up's upcoming season and also takes a deep dive into the NIL & Transfer Portal Culture (00:17:28) and how social media is affecting today's young people, particularly student-athletes who are trying to play ball at the collegiate level. This is a really solid, fresh perspective that will open your eyes to the craziness that is the money-making business of college football, the men who put the pads on every Saturday this fall, and the young men who aspire to do so. NOTE: Jesuit is ranked 4th in the state of Louisiana according to MaxPreps.com after losing 14-10 to Catholic High of Baton Rouge (ranked 1st in LA) in last year's 5A State Championship.
Jameis Winston Press Conference (00:00:00-00:11:48), Tyrann Mathieu (00:11:50-00:17:18) on Last Day of 2022 Saints Training Camp.
Bio from ESPNPressRoom.com: Mike Triplett joined ESPN in 2013 as the New Orleans Saints reporter for NFL Nation. He has been covering the Saints as both a reporter and columnist since 2005, previously for the New Orleans Times-Picayune. His duties include daily coverage of the Saints for ESPN.com, as well as appearances on SportsCenter and contributions to ESPN Fantasy and ESPN Radio. Triplett has chronicled the highest and lowest points in Saints history, from their lost season in the wake of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, to their remarkable rise under Sean Payton and Drew Brees one year later, to the team's first ever Super Bowl championship in 2009, to the bounty scandal that rocked the franchise in 2012.
Topics Discussed: Fresh Perspective of Louisiana Sports, Kim Mulkey, Brian Kelly, LSU Quarterback Situation, Pelicans on the Rise, Jose Alvarado, Trey Murphy, Zion Williamson, CJ McCollum, Brooke's Interview with Chris Olave at NFL Draft in Las Vegas, Dennis Allen, Jameis Winston, Tyrann Mathieu, Jarvis Landry's MomSaints Training Camp, Day 5 Preview, Rapid Fire Questions, Baer Law Firm Tough Question on Marcus Maye, Taysom Hill, Alvin Kamara, and the Honey Badger, NFL Futures and Early Predictions on MVP (Joe Burrow) and Comeback Player of the Year (Michael Thomas).
Boot Krewe Media's Jack Culotta, Jr. and John Hendrix (also at Sports Illustrated) cover Saints Training Camp Day 2, highlighting the return of defensive lineman Payton Turner and swiss army knife Taysom Hill, who injured his ribs at Thursday's practice. An excerpt of Hendrix's Day 2 recap -- Among the rotational players included Kentavius Street, Malcolm Roach, Zack Baun, Kaden Elliss, and J.T. Gray. Payton Turner ended up going opposite of Cam Jordan in the first 11-on-11 period. Tyrann Mathieu (excused), Sage Doxtater, Juwan Johnson, Rashid Shaheed (NFI), Tanoh Kpassgnon (NFI), and were among those not spotted at practice on Thursday. Winston went 4-of-4, Dalton went 3-of-4, and Book was 4-of-4. Most of the completions were short with an emphasis on getting the ball out quickly. We did see a somewhat play of the day that saw D'Marco Jackson get a sack on Dalton. Deonte Harty would have wanted this one back to make a killer catch, but give Alontae Taylor some credit for the coverage. 11-ON-11 NOTES: We had two separate periods of this, with the first one going really rough for the offense. Each quarterback ran four plays, and of the five passes, only Winston had a completion on his two attempts. He tried Deonte Harty deep down the sideline, but the pass was out of bounds. Dalton went 0-of-1, and Book's two incompletions were from a drop from Kawaan Baker and a pass out of bounds for Kirk Merritt with Smoke Monday in coverage. Merritt made a great catch, but it wouldn't have counted at all.
This is The Drive presented by Royal Honda featuring John Hendrix, Saints writer for Sports Illustrated. We discuss Jameis Winston Mobility, Alvin Kamara Suspension, Mike Thomas Injury, Taysom Hill's Role, Trevor Penning vs. James Hurst, and other Saints players who are "On the Bubble" to make the team as we approach Saints training camp on July 25, 2022.
For the 50th episode of Talk Culotta, our special guest is New Orleans Saints kicker Wil Lutz, who missed the entire 2021 season due to a core muscle injury. Fortunately, it appears Lutz is ready to return to the gridiron. On Monday, a video of Lutz getting in some practice reps surfaced on social media. It didn't take long for NFL fans to start talking about his latest workout video. Fans in New Orleans believe Lutz's return will be very crucial to their success this fall.
