Andrew and Chris were on hand covering former WooSox fan favorite Ryan Fitzgerald's "Farewell Fitzy" event at Polar Park. The club honored Fitzy one last time in front of season ticket holders in Worcester and he spoke with the media following the event. Fizty talked about how he found out he was taken by the Royals in the Rule 5 draft, where he was and who could be the next player to fill his shoes.

A key drive saw them nearly convert on a 4th-and-22 situation, but Virginia Tech quarterback Kyron Drones fell one-yard short and on the next play, Benson hit an 85-yard run to put Florida State up by 22. The Florida State Seminoles lost to the 14th ranked North Carolina State Wolfpack this weekend on a game-ending interception thrown on a deep throw while the Noles were within range of kicker Ryan Fitzgerald potentially hitting a game winning field goal.    This loss hurts for FSU fans especially since star NC State QB Devin Leary left the game with an injury and Florida State had a 60% post game win expectancy, outgained NC State in yards per play and total yards. The Seminoles were killed by penalties, an inexplicable punt past the line of scrimmage, costly turnovers and five dropped passes. Max and Hunter break down the loss by looking at the 5 "Moments that Mattered." There were dark times (can the lights get turned on in time for a game, please?), there were bright times (Ryan Fitzgerald's field goal was the exclamation point on a feel-good first half), and then a shadow of panic/pressing consumed Florida State in meltdown against NC State. Unforced mistakes mounted as the Seminoles pressed and pushed to get out of the tailspin in the second half, but it was to no avail as FSU didn't put up a second-half point in a 19-17 loss.  But this podcast isn't all doom and gloom.
