He devoted himself to fasts, flagellations, long hours in prayer and pilgrimages, and constant confession. But the more he tried to do for God, it seemed, the more aware he became of his sinfulness. - The demands of study for academic degrees and preparation for delivering lectures drove Martin Luther to study the Scriptures in depth. Luther immersed himself in the teachings of the Scripture and the early church. Slowly, terms like penance and righteousness took on new meaning. - With joy, Luther now believed and taught that salvation is a gift of God's grace, received by faith and trust in God's promise to forgive sins for the sake of Christ's death on the cross. This, he believed was God's work from beginning to end.

While the New Orleans Saints are getting healthier, key pieces on offense like Erik McCoy and defense like Marcus Williams are expected to be out. The Saints will need to rely on Taysom Hill as a weapon and force the Carolina Panthers to account for him early and often in the run game, opening it up for Alvin Kamara and Deonte Harris (if he returns in time). The New Orleans Saints, even without McCoy have the weapons they need to produce on offense as a higher rate than they have so far this season.Defensively the Saints match up well with what Carolina will want to do with Sam Darnold under center. But can they compound the pass rush and generate more takeaways in the passing game in order to buy extra possession for their offense? With Marcus Williams out, one players could change the course of the game. PJ Williams is no stranger to the Saints' free safety position, but Dennis Allen may still look to make some adjustments with Marcus out and PJ in. Jesuit is looking for its ninth state championship overall and its first since winning Division I in 2014. The Bears (11-1) are in the Division I state championship game for the fifth straight year, having won it all in 2015. Catholic also won the title on the field in 2017 and in 2020 but had to vacate both of those championships due to LHSAA infractions. Catholic defeated St. Augustine 42-35 and St. Paul's 29-28 to advance to the final.
