(As mentioned in the last episode, I have a chapter in the Handbook as well) Jonathan's research specializations are in philosophy of law and political philosophy. His current research focuses on political authority, social justice, criminal law, and punishment. Jonathan's paper is an important read for anyone interested in prison reform. In this weeks episode, host Chris Cottrell interviews the head coach of Loyola University, New Orleans, Stacy Hollowell. As of this episode coach Hollowell and Loyola are ranked #1 in the country, atop the NAIA Top 25 Coaches Poll with a record of 17 - 1. Over the weekend, Loyola defeated William Carey University. In his eight years at Loyola, Coach Hollowell has an overall record of 146 - 78… his overall winning percentage is 65% good for second all time among Loyloa men's basketball coaches. He has advanced the Wolf Pack to the NAIA National tournament each of the last three seasons, and four of his seven seasons as the head coach. Hollowell has led Loyola to six straight winning seasons including a Sweet Sixteen victory in the 2020-2021 season. The previous season, while navigating the pandemic, Loyola was 23-10 including 21 regular season wins, a program record, which earned them a 6 seed in the NAIA National Championship…. Only to see that season shortened due to Covid. Hollowell has mentored 8 NAIA All American Selections in his time at Loyola. This season Loyola was selected #5 in the NAIA Preseason Coaches poll and were tabbed to win the Southern States Athletic Conference. He was the resident director of the National Cultural Center of Indonesia (1996-7), Artistic Director of Jean Cocteau Repertory (2004-5), and Associate Artistic Director of the Living Theater (1989-90).An Independence Foundation Fellow, Drama League Directing Fellow, Shubert Fellow, Henry Luce Fellow, TCG Leadership recipient. Lane Savadove is the Founding Artistic Director of EgoPo Classic Theater, now in its 27th season.Lane has directed over 40 shows for EgoPo, Off-Broadway, regionally in San Francisco, Chicago, New Orleans, Provincetown, Philadelphia and on National Public Radio. He was the resident director of the National Cultural Center of Indonesia (1996-7), Artistic Director of Jean Cocteau Repertory (2004-5), and Associate Artistic Director of the Living Theater (1989-90).An Independence Foundation Fellow, Drama League Directing Fellow, Shubert Fellow, Henry Luce Fellow, TCG Leadership recipient. His works include: Beckett’s Company (NPR and 6 cities); world premiere of Tennessee Williams’ House Not Meant to Stand (Southern Repertory); Wedekind’s Spring Awakening (Phila, New Orleans), Maeterlinck’s Bluebird (Phila.), the world premiere of John Guare’s 10-hour Lydie Breeze Trilogy. Savadove's staging of Chekhov’s Seagull won the company the 2017 Barrymore award for Best Production. Lane holds an MFA in Directing from Columbia University and BA from Haverford College. Lane was a Professor of Acting and Directing at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, The National University of Indonesia, and Head of Directing at Loyola-New Orleans. Nicole Young graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2007 and immediately began work on the Obama Presidential Campaign. After 2008, she lived in Washington, DC for four years working at the U.S. Department of Education and the White House Office of Presidential Personnel. Before coming to BECNO, Young served as the Associate Director for Social Justice at the College Board where she worked to evaluate, support, and expand the College Board’s work for students of color. Young received her Master’s Degree in Education Policy at The University of Pennsylvania.   After receiving her doctorate in American Literature at NYU in 2009, Jessie Morgan-Owens served as an Assistant Professor of English at Nanyang Technological University of Singapore. In 2012, Morgan-Owens returned to the US, and joined the Newhouse Center for the Humanities at Wellesley College. Of the thirty recipients of the Dean's Award at NYU, Morgan-Owens was one of two graduate students chosen to join the research community at the Humanities Initiative. Her current book project Another Ida May illuminates the influence of photography in the anti-slavery campaignby focusing on a daguerreotype of one seven-year-old girl. Originally from Louisiana, Morgan-Owens moved to New York in 2000, after earning her BA in Photojournalism at Loyola New Orleans, to begin a career in magazines at Travel + Leisure. Warren Hebert, DNP, RN, CAE, is an alumnus of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Executive Nurse Fellows Program. Hebert is Chief Innovation Officer for a home health analytics company. He is also a family caregiver, home health nurse, nursing professor, and executive director of the HomeCare Association of Louisiana. Attaining his Doctor of Nursing Practice degree (DNP) in 2015, Hebert joined his alma mater, Loyola New Orleans, in 2016, as lead faculty for health policy, Care of Vulnerable and Aging populations, health care ethics, and he teaches doctoral students about systems change and innovation.
