With the summer well and truly over, Jack and Sean talk about the gigs and festivals they attended over the sunnier months of this year. From Green Day to Garth Brooks, to Jack doing his first ever stand-up set, they cover it all….or at least what they had the money to go and see anyway. Directed by Jennie Livingston, it charts the lives of the gay, trans, Latino and African American communities that laid the foundations for the ball culture in New York in the 1980s. This documentary follows the lives of those who take part in the balls and gives the viewer a unique insight into the culture, preparation, and indeed hardship that many of these exceptional individuals went through daily. Using footage of the balls and one-on-one interviews, Livingston tells their stories and gives a voice to what is now one of the most mainstream forms of expression in the 21st century. This time the lads get their hands dirty with the 2018 Irish film, "The Dig" from brothers Ryan & Andy Tohill. The Dig centres on Ronan Callaghan (Moe Dunford) who, upon returning from serving 15 years in prison for a murder he cant remember committing seeks to sell his family home and move on. Instead, he finds the father of his victim, Sean McKenna (Lorcan Crannitch) excavating the bog on Callaghan's and in search of his daughter's remains. Although as Callaghan tries to help him and local Gardai Murphy (Francis Magee) and Sean's surviving daughter get involved the tensions between the men rise and their dig uncovers much more than the deceased.
