I liked a lot about Cyberpunk 2077--from the side missions to the combat to the visuals and plenty more-- but the character of Johnny Silverhand and the performance of Keanu Reeves was not one of them. This wouldn't have been a big problem if he wasn't such a crucial part of the main story, but he is and can't help but show up all of the time, so I couldn't help but only like Cyberpunk 2077 when I thought I was going to love it. Anyway and as always, thank you for watching or listening, I hope you enjoy this here episode, and I hope you have a wonderful wonderful rest of your day. (And if you haven't already, or are a listener and not a watcher, please like, subscribe, hit the bell, and all that jazz; it may not seem like much, but it goes a long way in helping support the show and site in general. I would appreciate it greatly.)
It's unfortunate that during the holidays the big news is the tragic passing of Vince Zampella. Serious question, why call something Rebirth, if there is no rebirthing, where was the rebirthing? Yes I have a full review of Jurassic World Rebirth in todays drop. Plus more fallout from the Microsoft and Xbox layoffs, and who is to blame? Helldivers 2 is dropping on Xbox next month, and Nintendo ponders the future of game development. ScarJo is now the highest grossing lead actor ever, John M Chu is going to be racing into theaters as the director of Hot Wheels. Meanwhile James Gunn and Zack Snyder portal into Rick and Morty in the least suspecting way.
In today's Daily Fix: Cyberpunk 2077 headlines this month's new PS Plus games, alongside Banishers, Risk of Rain 2, and yes, Bluey: The Video Game. Xbox surprises with 5 of the top 7 best-selling games in May despite recent layoffs. And Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remastered finally gets a much-needed performance patch… kind of.
Join us this week as we dive headfirst into the neon-drenched streets of Night City on a handheld! CD Projekt Red's sprawling RPG epic, Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, has finally made its way to the Nintendo Switch 2, and after exploring some of its gritty open world, we're ready to share our initial impressions. How does Night City hold up on Nintendo's new hybrid console? Can the Switch 2 truly handle the demanding visuals and dense environments of Cyberpunk 2077, especially with the Phantom Liberty expansion bundled in? We'll break down the performance in both docked and handheld modes, and how far the game has come since its launch.
In this episode of Pixelated Playgrounds, Bryan and Josh jack into the neon-drenched, yet utterly dismal world of Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt Red's ambitious yet turbulent foray into dystopian sci-fi. Based on Mike Pondsmith's classic tabletop RPG, the game places players in the boots of V, a mercenary struggling to survive in the megacity of Night City while sharing brain space with a digital ghost. From bugs to bikes, dialogue quirks to faction dynamics, Josh and Bryan dissect how Cyberpunk 2077 blends cyber-noir tropes, world-building, and RPG systems, even as it wrestles with its own lofty promises and troubled launch. We'd be remiss to leave out the game's deep character cast and the player-driven story arcs that branch through romances, alliances, and explosive conclusions. They also break down the nuts and bolts of gameplay, from combat builds and progression to stealth, hacking, and high-octane firefights. Along the way, they examine the design of Night City itself—its architectural storytelling, traversal options, and sense of place. Whether you're a Nomad, Corpo, or Street Kid, this spoiler-filled discussion digs into the chrome and circuitry of what makes Cyberpunk 2077 flawed, fascinating, and, at times, pretty preem.Three Word Reviews:Bryan - Necessary Human ElementJosh - The Spaces Between
Welcome one and all! We're here with a later than usual episode because this game is too fucking big. We both spent upward of 70 hours on the damn thing. Is it worth it? Honestly, I don't know. The highs are damn high! I'm really glad I basically didn't have any noteworthy bugs or issues in this playthrough. That would have been too much I think. In any case, we had a good time on this episode, even though we had to stop recording twice because of technical difficulties. We simply locked in and handled it because we're real professional chooms.

Guess what, there's another reason to question the existence of the PS5 Pro! The Sony Sate of Play was pretty solid today, and its mainly due to the James Bond game trailer. Microsoft pushes back its handheld plans, Nintendo keeps it close to the vest, and Activision has a blunder. Plus Netflix has its Tudum, Mark Hamill shares his future, and thank god we don't live in the Michael Bay Superman Timeline. Plus my review of Mission Impossible The Final Reckoning.
Featuring: AmmosArt, Ashgar, Belghast, Grace, Kodra, and Tamrielo Hey Folks! We are down a Thalen this week, but that is mostly because he was up visiting Bel Town, so Bel talks a bit about that. Kodra discusses how playing a lot of Blue Prince has ruined his brain for every other game… especially Cyberpunk 2077. It is Path of Exile 3.26 Spoiler Season, and Bel talks about some of the quality of life changes coming. Tam shares his experiences with Skin Deep and why it may not be the “sandbox stealth” game that it is purported to be. Kodra and Tam talk about their experiences playing Lorelei and the Laser Eyes “Co-Op” without official support for that. The early looter shooter Defiance makes a return, and Bel talks about that, and then Tam shares the realization that given enough time, you massively improve almost anything that you try… in his case, painting miniatures. Topics Discussed: Blue Prince Rewires Brain Path of Exile 3.26 Spoiler Season Skin Deep Fuga: Melodies of Steel 3 Lorelei and the Laser Eyes “Co-Op” Defiance Returns Painting Realization
