When the Missouri legislature began to redraw maps mid-decade, it reminded a reporter of a very specific movie scene. The film was Air Bud, and although the plot focuses on a loophole that allows a dog to play basketball, some in Missouri say there are similarities to the battle over gerrymandering, and the result could have a lasting impact on the state's government. It's Kevin's birthday, and the guys come in hot with one of the wildest Florida Man stories yet. Chris takes over Movie Time with horror picks that spark way too much debate, Kevin defends his burrito honor, and Chase finds himself stuck in the middle of the chaos. Throw in a solid Dad Tip, a few Voice Nuggets, and “This Is Where We Fucked Up,” and you've got a birthday episode packed with bad decisions, great laughs, and just the right amount of whiskey-fueled wisdom.

OMG, there's a missing child! And for once, a bunch of middle-school girls actually *are* the best people to solve this, because the adults are busy making casseroles and phoning Kristy to trauma-dump. Meanwhile, Mary Anne makes Jell-O. On today's agenda: cutting-edge computer technology; a mysterious lack of Jessi; a catalogue of OSHA violations; Barratt family revisionism; how to get your kissing face just right; cutting-edge weapons technology; historical turnip grievances; Stoneybrook's rich Francophone heritage; cutting-edge time-travelling cassette-tape technology. Our theme song is ‘The Incredible Shrinking Larry' by Matt Oakley and ‘Big Band Jingle A' is by Lobo Loco, both on the Free Music Archive. If you like our show, tell a friend, rate and review on your podcast app of choice, drop us an email, or come say hi on Instagram! We also have a ko-fi and we're real self-conscious about it!

Things didn't go quite as planned this week on Mostly Horror, but sometimes that makes for the most interesting conversations. With our guest lineup shifting last minute, we start by unpacking the shocking news of Charlie Kirk's assassination, reflecting on his controversial career, the polarizing reactions online, and the bigger cultural questions moments like this stir up. From there, we rewind to one of our earliest interviews with Goosebumps illustrator Tim Jacobus, a creative influence who shaped our love of horror from the start. It's an unusual mix of current events and horror nostalgia, but it all comes together as a reminder of why we explore the dark, the strange, and the unforgettable in every episode.
