It's Tuesday, April 15th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Nicaraguan government cancels Resurrection celebrations The Nicaraguan government is cancelling Resurrection week celebrations, and replacing them with their own events, reports International Christian Concern. Exiled Nicaraguan leader Felix Maradiaga explains that “The model that Sandinistas want to implement is very similar to that of China.”  The government “has a long history of trying to create a parallel church [and] of wanting to take possession of the symbols of faith.” Russians bombed Ukrainian city on Palm Sunday, kids' playground The Russian army bombed the northeastern Ukrainian city of Sumy on Palm Sunday, resulting in at least 34 citizens losing their lives, reports The Associated Press. Two children were among the dead. Last week, Russians bombed a children's playground in the city of Kryvyi Rih, killing twenty, nine of whom were children, reports the BBC. The United Nations calculates that over 12,600 Ukrainian civilians have been killed, and over 29,000 injured since the war started three years ago.  In addition, Reuters reports that Russia has dropped over 50,000 guided bombs on Ukraine since 2022. China has stopped exports of products for aerospace industry As the global trade war continues, China has stopped exporting certain products to America, including minerals and magnets used by the aerospace industry, automakers, aerospace manufacturers, and semiconductor companies. China's Ministry of Commerce has also issued regulations forbidding Chinese companies from doing business with a number of American companies. China's trade surplus with America jumped in March China's trade surplus exploded in March  — 12.4% year over year. China's trade surplus is the largest in the world, running around $1 trillion. Germany, Russia, and Saudi Arabia also lead the world in trade surpluses. China's surplus with the U.S. was up 4.5% in March, up 14% for India, up 11% for Africa, and up 17% for Vietnam.   The nation with the worst trade deficit is the United States -- running over $1.1 trillion, followed by the United Kingdom, India, France, and Turkey. Chinese students leaving U.S. universities Chinese students are leaving American universities. The official Chinese government's news service announced a 40% drop off of Chinese doctoral students at U.S colleges. Today, only 277,400 Chinese students are enrolled in U.S. higher education institutions which is down from 373,000 four years ago. Fewer Europeans traveling to United States Europeans are more reticent to travel to the United States. The numbers have dropped by 17% in March, year over year.  This represents the largest decline since the COVID-19 pandemic. More Gen Z men profess faith in Christ Here are more surprising numbers coming from the Barna Group. Since 2019, the percentage of Gen Z young men who profess to be committed to Jesus has increased by 19%.   Sadly, the metric is not improving for young women. Numbers remain “mostly flat in their commitment levels to Jesus.” Let's remember Paul's words in 1 Corinthians 16:22. “If anyone has no love for the Lord, let him be accursed. Our Lord, come!” United Kingdom bill would curtail home schooling The U.K. House of Lords has scheduled a second reading for an education bill that is set to curtail homeschooling. The law would require homeschooling parents to submit an extensive curriculum plan, along with other stipulations. Gold up; Nasdaq and Bitcoin down Gold continues its rise. Remarkably, it's value is now $3,200 per ounce, an increase in value of 16% since January 1st.   The Nasdaq is down 12% since the start of the year, hovering around 17,000 points. Bitcoin is down 9% since January at $85,000 per bitcoin.  Jair Bolsonaro survived 12-hour surgery after assassination attempt By the mercies of God, Brazil's previous president, Jair Bolsonaro survived a 12-hour-long surgery. This is his fifth medical intervention after a stabbing attack in 2018. His wife, Michelle, took to Instagram to announce that “the surgery concluded with success. My heart overflows with gratefulness for each one of you who have been praying.”  Michele's Instagram account describes herself as a servant of the Lord.  She writes, “Honor, glory, strength, and power to King Jesus!” Trump's powerful Christian message during Holy Week And finally, in one of the most explicit Christian messages ever issued by a world leader in our day, President Donald Trump issued a tribute to the Christian “holy week” on his Truth Social account. He wrote, “This Holy Week, Christians around the world remember the crucifixion of God's only Begotten Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. And, on Easter Sunday, we celebrate His glorious Resurrection and proclaim, as Christians have done for nearly 2,000 years, ‘HE IS RISEN!' “Through the pain and sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross, we saw God's boundless love and devotion to all humanity and, in that moment of His Resurrection, history was forever changed with the promise of Everlasting Life. … “I want to wish Christians everywhere a happy and very blessed holiday. America is a nation of believers. We need God, we want God and, with His help, we will make our nation stronger, safer, greater, more prosperous, and more united than ever before.” Psalm 72:10-11 speaks of the king's Son, who rules, and is to be praised by all nations. The Scripture declares, “The kings of Tarshish and of the isles will bring presents; The kings of Sheba and Seba will offer gifts. Yes, all kings shall fall down before Him; All nations shall serve Him.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Tuesday, April 15th, in the year of our Lord 2025. Subscribe for free by Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. Exodus 25 tells us of the Tabernacle itself. Verses 1-14 describe the curtains which served as the roof of the Tabernacle. Eleven curtains made of linen and embroidered with golden, blue and scarlet threads woven through the linen in a cherubic pattern. These would have been visible to the priests, who served in the Holy Place; and to the High Priest on the Day of Atonement, the one day each year when he entered the Most Holy Place. Three other layers covered the linen – a layer of goats hair dyed scarlet; a layer of rams' skins; and finally, on top of these a waterproof layer of what has been translated as, badgers' skins in the KJV; and was probably dugong skins. As well as forming the roof they covered the boards of acacia wood (themselves covered with beaten gold plates); at the sides and back end of the building, where the Most Holy Place was situated. The dugong covering would be seen by the priests in the courtyard and by the worshippers, who had brought their offerings. Verses 15-30 describe the acacia boards that formed the building. Like the covering curtains these were on both sides and at the rear of the structure. They were fastened to each other by bars which passed through coupling rings providing a unity for the frame and giving it rigidity and stability. It speaks of the role of the ecclesia, whereby believers support one another and are united in their goals. They were anchored in the ground by silver sockets – speaking of our hope is fixed and grounded by the redemptive work achieved in our Lord Jesus Christ. Verses 31-33 describe the veil, which separated the Most Holy Place from the zHoly Place. Again the veil, – which was linen and interwoven with threads of blue, purple, scarlet and gold – spoke of the work of Christ, in whom we can draw near to God. The writer to the Hebrews tells us that it spoke of the nature of Jesus, through which the divine characteristics inherited from his Father were woven (see Hebrews 9 verses 19-23). At the precise time Jesus died on the stake the veil in Herod's temple was torn from top to bottom (Matthew 27 verse 51). This tearing of the temple curtain spoke of the removal of the sacrificial code of the Mosaic Law; and the bringing in of a better hope for faithful believers. Verses 34-35 provides a brief overview of some of the items of furniture within the Holy and Most Holy Places. The last verses of this chapter tells us of the entrance curtains through which the Tabernacle was entered. It was a linen screen of embroidered needlework with several similarities to the inner veil. It spoke of Christ, who is the door, or way of approaching the Father (John 10:1-6; 14:6). Psalms 79 and 80 are two further psalms from this cluster of Asaph writings in Book 3 – psalms related to the Sanctuary. In Psalm 79 we have a plea for God to arise and deliver His people from their despised and downtrodden situation. It is a Psalm of the exile period when Israel found themselves in Babylonian captivity; and Jerusalem was in ruin. The first four verses tell of the devestating scenes as Babylonia took the city. Verses 5-7 call upon the Almighty to help and to rise to repay the oppression. From verses 8-12 the writer remembers the wrongdoing of God's people and pleads for His Sovereign to remember to show mercy with His justice. He says, in verse 13, that when this happens the sheep of the LORD will graze securely and in thankfulness. Psalm 80 celebrates Yahweh as the Great Shepherd of Israel. The writer calls upon the mighty One of Jacob to shine forth from His cherubic chariot. This Psalm was a song sung by the female choir. God would lead the flock of Joseph – the doubly blessed son of Israel – like His flock. And the favour of Yahweh would rest upon the head of the one who was separate from his brothers. This of course describes Jesus as the Beloved and only Begotten Son of the Father. The redemptive process is prophetically described by two figures in this Psalm – the bow of the vine specifically strengthened by the Father to redeem us and to bring forth fruit (John 15 verses 1-11); and secondly in verses 17-19 that this Son would become, after his suffering (Ben-oni “son of my sorrows Genesis 36 verses16-18, Isaiah 53) the Son of God's right hand – Benjamin – (Psalm 110). In the 11th chapter of Mark we read of Jesus' triumphal entry to Jerusalem. He rode on a donkey, a colt the foal of an ass, in fulfilment of the prophecy of Zechariah 9. It was an animal that had never been ridden. It seems to suggest that our Lord Jesus would be the ruler/rider of the Gentiles. The crowds strewed their clothes and palm branches before Christ's path, and shouted, ‘Hosanna' (save now) as the prophecy predicted. We are additionally told they recited Psalm 118 verse 26. It is recommended that we read Psalm 11 verses 19-29 and meditate on the many messages from that Hal-eel – or Passover Psalm – this being Passover time. As it was late, our Lord and his Apostles headed to Bethany. The next morning, as they left Bethany, Jesus saw a fig tree that showed promise of early fruit; just like Israel, whose symbol that tree was. But finding no fruit on the tree our Lord cursed it. It was like the fruitless nation: Matthew 21 verse 43 – read and consider the context of these words. That day Jesus cleanses the temple from corruption – the second time see John 2 verses 13-17 this was first done three and a half years earlier at the commencement of our Lord's ministry. That evening Christ returns to Bethany. The next morning the disciples were amazed at the withered tree and our Lord uses the opportunity to tell the power of persistent prayer. Jesus' foes were confounded the following day by his masterful answer on the source of his authority.

Solomon sought for meaning in life by pursuing pleasure. He sought the pleasure in comedy and mirth (partying). He sought the pleasure in drinking wine. He sought pleasure in building houses, vineyards, pools and possessions of silver and gold. He sought meaning in life by surrounding himself with a variety of music. In other words, he sought real meaning in life by pursuing the 3 big E's……entertainment, edifices, and earnings. The poorest man of faith in his kingdom was happier far than he. Wouldn't you think that if you could have and afford whatever your eyes desired that you would be happy? All of this pleasure was short lived. After experiencing all of the pleasure that “money could buy”, he steps back and considers that it was all vanity and vexation of spirit. By explaining his intense disgust with life as he has been living it, Solomon is in reality urging us to labor to know Christ more, for when we draw nearer to Jesus, we have found that knowledge to be a fountain of delight.Enjoyment of life is a gift from God. God-given enjoyment can only have significance for the believer who sees all things as a gift from Him, for it is to that man or woman that Christ came to give life and that more abundantly. To know Jesus, to love God, to find satisfaction in heavenly things, this is wisdom, and the follies of Solomon should drive us thither. If you are looking for life under the sun tonight instead of life in God's only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ…do not ignore the warnings of Solomon and do not despise the invitation of Jesus to come unto Him and find rest for your souls.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. How much are you watching the news right now? I know a lot of people have stopped watching altogether because it's just too depressing some days. But did you know that many today are living without hope. But here's some good news: The Bible says that, “God so loved the world that He gave is only Begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.” The wages of our sins is death, but on Christmas Day, over two thousand years ago, a gift was given to us. Hope was born. His name is Jesus, and He is Christ the Lord. God Himself came dwell with us as a human and lived a perfect life we couldn't. He then died a cross as the needed sacrifice to pay for our sins. And now, He offers us the free gift of eternal life. And all we have to do is place our faith in Him and Him alone. Now, this is hope! For more on the Gospel, visit our website at www.sharelife.today.

John 1:1-18 - One of the primary aims of the Nicene Creed was to clarify what the Bible says about the divinity of Jesus. He was neither a lesser, "created" god nor a god with the (false) appearance of humanity. He was, as the creed declares, "the only-begotten Son of God, who was begotten of the Father before all ages, Light from Light, True God from True God, begotten, not made, having the same being as the Father." A sermon by Cameron Heger. [Part 6 of our series "The Nicene Creed: The Ancient Theology of the Triune God"] Questions for reflection: 1) Cameron mentioned three false beliefs about Jesus from church history: that Jesus was God in human disguise, that Jesus was created by God to be a lesser god, and that Jesus was merely an amazing human. Which of these do you hear argued for most often? 2) Why is the biblical claim that Jesus is both fully, genuinely God and fully, genuinely human important? 3) How is Jesus as the "only Son of God" different from us as adopted children of God? 4) Discuss the idea that God has eternally existed as both a Father and a Son (and Spirit)? 5) In Mark 2:5-7 Jesus claims to be able to forgive sins. What significance does this have for our understanding of Jesus's divinity?

Brothers and sisters, today's topic of Treasures for the Soul is “The Word became flesh (1).” The gospel of John starts by telling us the Lord is the Word. He is God. Word is speech. The Lord came to manifest God. John 1:14 reads, “The Word became flesh.” This gives a clear answer to the question “What is man?” No one has seen God. But through God's only Begotten Son, who became a man, lived and experienced life on earth, God was manifested. Furthermore, we can continue to know Him more and experience Him more deeply.

John introduces Jesus as the eternal Word of God, emphasizing His role in creation, bringing light and life to humanity. Jesus takes on the flesh and tabernacles among us. It is God walking in the midst of the human race. However, Jesus does not become the Son of God at that moment, but is Son from eternity. We are assured that as we receive him by faith we are children of God. Yet, there is the language of being born again before we accept Christ.
