Japan, like many other Indo-Pacific countries, will likely seek to strengthen its own domestic industries and diversify its trading relationships to reduce its reliance on the U.S. market and sources for high-end military equipment.Japan's government is facing upcoming elections in which it will need to be seen as effective in countering the U.S. tariffs.
